WORLD CHAMPION INDOOR SKYDIVING (RYAN CHRISTIE HANDCUFF ROUTINE)
HANDCUFFED: Routine 1/3
2023 World Championships held by @hurricanefactory_tatralandia in Slovakia. I decided to aim more towards the telling of a story in three parts, differently from the ordering and showing of best moves and combos. The interesting part is the portrayal of a story and shaping of ideas through airborne motion, sequences and moves. Certainly difficult with out a reference point or prior tip. You can see the description on the 3rd slide which could be used as a reference. I was arrested and placed in handcuffs by my partner in crime @rafaella.mespilo I also worked together with Marco from @ishdancecollective who really helped me organise my mind and give a live outside perspective during training. Thank brother 🤙

Demo by Skynique: ISG Viernheim
During the time of the masked I was lucky enough to be invited to come and help over at Viernheim, a beautifully constructed tunnel by the ISG family. The tunnel design is 13 foot from the net and diffuses instantly all the way up to 12/15M-ish. Tunnel designs vary a lot but a tunnel that diffuses from the net loses wind density/pressure the higher you fly. I really enjoyed flying a unique design like this, where as my home tunnel is a consistent pressure all the way up to 15 m before it starts diffusing. Viernheim has a lovely vibe and a great team and I can't wait to go back and visit one day.

Skynique visits Viernheim by ISG
During the time of the masked I was lucky enough to be invited to come and help over at Viernheim, a new beautifully constructed tunnel by the ISG family. The tunnel design is 13 foot from the net and diffuses instantly all the way up to 12/15M-ish. Tunnel designs vary a lot but a tunnel that diffuses instantly loses wind density/pressure as you fly higher. This means the wind acts slightly like a trampoline, working pressures low down, patient diving low pressure dives from above. I really enjoyed flying a unique design like this as my home tunnel is a consistent pressure all the way up to 12/14m before it starts diffusing. Viernheim has a lovely vibe and a great team and I can't wait to go back and visit one day.

Free Dynamic: 3WAY Koen, Menno, Ryan
Last night I shared a very enjoyable session with these two flying heroes, Koen and Menno! They really know how to push and it's starting to become very interesting to fly together with them. They both really resonate passion and thirst to become the best that they can in their flying art. It's been amazing to watch both their progressions from beginner too bad ass and how they lift each other forward! I'm really looking forward to see the futures and what they have to offer the flying community. Can't wait to fly again with these two! Keep ripping it up boys!

Free Dynamic: 3WAY
As we begin to explore the various formats people practice within the flying culture, Free Dynamic certainly is one of a kind. As we see in other sporting professions there always sits a discipline that stands alone that only some feel drawn towards exploring. Examples being free diving, free climbing, free base, free riding, freestyle dance and so on. A reoccurring trait that seems to show in all of these disciplines is a practice involved with stepping into the unknown. Learning to find comfort in exploring the shadows. In most formats currently practiced in flying there is a repetitive cycle and identification needed to replicate patterns that are recognized and formalised. In free dynamic the art is in developing a pattern and cycle in the moment of creating it. There are certainly moves, lines, patterns, tricks and shapes that can be recognize and then replicated in the moment of flow but the law has no stricter value on where one must move next. The dominating value has more to do with rhythm and tempo and visual checkpoints. A leader must be aware of the followers visual leading towards the side of the next movement, pattern or trick. Me, Ibro and Rosie enjoyed a really fun three-way session where we pushed the edge a little bit. I'm glad Rosie jumped in to give the sense of possibility and ability to break a comfort zone.
After discovering his own ability to fly he began to explore deeper. Ryan Christie is an active flying enthusiast, coach, instructor, trainer, competitor, mentor and philosopher. With his imaginative creativity and years of experience Ryan has developed a yet to be understood style of flying that he believes can be shared within the community to enhance the experience, style, language, perception and philosophy of human body flight. His lines are complex and break through the accepted boundries. Where saftey and danger are irrelevant divisions placed in the way of true self expansion within the wind flow, Ryan is on a journey to portray his findings clearly in the same way a particular bird tweets its own melody.

Ibro came to visit us at city skydive. I donated 15 minutes of my time for us to share and fly together. I agreed to fly together on one condition, if he could keep up! :P
I like to talk about the domesticated flyer in the sense of one that stays very much within a formalized structure. I found a lot of satisfaction in learning the formulised structures but after some time I found myself feeling in a looping cycle, I didn't move anywhere anymore. A big part of my progression has always been about moving towards the uncomfortable areas and pressures to try to discover something that I do not know yet. I see a lot of flyers following already achieved skills without the unknown awareness of potential findings that wait in the uncomfortable areas of flight. Like in every day life we can get comfortable in a routine and the more we run through it the harder it is to break out of it. I see this a lot with people in the flying world. And I love to make these people uncomfortable again! Some people respond well and find a lot of interest and curiosity in what awaits for them to find and others take a burn, an ego deflation.
