NASA | A View From The Other Side
A number of people who've seen NASA's annual lunar phase and libration videos have asked what the other side of the Moon looks like, the side that can't be seen from the Earth. This video answers that question. The imagery was created using Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data.

Perseverance Rover’s Descent and Touchdown on Mars (Official NASA Video)
NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance mission captured thrilling footage of its rover landing in Mars' Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021. The real footage in this video was captured by several cameras that are part of the rover's entry, descent, and landing suite. The views include a camera looking down from the spacecraft's descent stage (a kind of rocket-powered jet pack that helps fly the rover to its landing site), a camera on the rover looking up at the descent stage, a camera on the top of the aeroshell (a capsule protecting the rover) looking up at that parachute, and a camera on the bottom of the rover looking down at the Martian surface.
The audio embedded in the video comes from the mission control call-outs during entry, descent, and landing.

We Are NASA
We’ve taken giant leaps and left our mark in the heavens. Now we’re building the next chapter, returning to the Moon to stay, and preparing to go beyond. We are NASA – and after 60 years, we’re just getting started. Special thanks to Mike Rowe for the voiceover work.

How We Are Going to the Moon - 4K
While Apollo placed the first steps on the Moon, Artemis opens the door for humanity to sustainably work and live on another world for the first time. Using the lunar surface as a proving ground for living on Mars, this next chapter in exploration will forever establish our presence in the stars. ✨
We are returning to the Moon – to stay – and this is how we are going!
Actress Kelly Marie Tran of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” lent her voice to this project.

Highlights: First Images from the James Webb Space Telescope (Official NASA Video)
NASA revealed the first five full-color images and spectrographic data from the world's most powerful space telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, a partnership with ESA (European Space Agency), and CSA (Canadian Space Agency). The world got its first look at the full capabilities of the mission at a live event streamed from the agency's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, on July 12, 2022.
The event showcased these targets:
- Carina Nebula: A landscape speckled with glittering stars and cosmic cliffs
- Stephan’s Quintet: An enormous mosaic with a visual grouping of five galaxies
- Southern Ring Nebula: A nebula with rings of gas and dust for thousands of years in all directions
- WASP 96-b: A distinct signature of water in the atmosphere of an exoplanet orbiting a distant Sun-like star
- SMACS 0723: The deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date
The full set of the telescope’s first full-color images and spectroscopic data are available at: https://nasa.gov/webbfirstimages

Fly into the Great Red Spot of Jupiter with NASA’s Juno Mission
This animation takes the viewer on a simulated flight into, and then out of, Jupiter’s upper atmosphere at the location of the Great Red Spot. It was created by combining an image from the JunoCam imager on NASA's Juno spacecraft with a computer-generated animation.
The perspective begins about 2,000 miles (3,000 kilometers) above the cloud tops of the planet's southern hemisphere. The bar at far left indicates altitude during the quick descent; a second gauge next to that depicts the dramatic increase in temperature that occurs as the perspective dives deeper down. The clouds turn crimson as the perspective passes through the Great Red Spot. Finally, the view ascends out of the spot.

Mars Report: Ingenuity Helicopter Inspires Future Flights on Mars (April 2023)
April 04, 2023
NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter made history when it achieved the first powered, controlled flight on another planet - and it's inspiring future aerial exploration of the Red Planet, too. In this Mars Report, Ingenuity Team Lead Teddy Tzanetos at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory provides an update on the helicopter's achievements and future plans.
This video shows testing for Sample Recovery Helicopters, which could serve as a backup retrieval system for Mars Sample Return, a campaign that intends to retrieve samples taken by NASA's Perseverance Mars rover for study here on Earth. These next-generation helicopters would be able to pick up and carry sample tubes in flight and also drive on the Martian surface.
Another future helicopter concept is the Mars Science Helicopter, a proposed six-rotor "hexacopter" that would be about the size of the Perseverance rover. It would bring important payloads to areas of Mars that are not currently accessible.

Northern Lights Seen From the International Space Station
As they orbited above Earth early in the morning on Feb. 26, 2023, NASA astronauts Josh Cassada, Nicole Mann, and JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata spotted these glowing auroras from the cupola of the International Space Station. Cassada and Mann captured this time-lapse video of the Northern Lights a day later. Listen to Cassada describe the experience in an interview conducted on the station: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FfTKo6DTaU&t=676s Credit: NASA
