COLORFUL WALK 🤙 Stroll Through QUEPOS, Costa Rica 🇨🇷 (2021)
This is Quepos, Costa Rica, which is a smaller fishing town on the Pacific Side and south of San Jose 🇨🇷
→ We'll start at the Marina, which is on the south end of town. There are a few hotels and short term rentals up the hill behind the Marina, with lots of wildlife around including monkeys.
→ Continue north and you'll find a skate park and walking path along the water. Lots of benches and sitting areas, as well as people fishing off the rocks.
→ We turn right on Av. 2, which is where there's a Farmers Market on Friday's at around 4pm. It'll be across from the very colorful Parque Central de Quepos. This street is where you'll start finding lots of restaurants and shops. Further down Av. 2, there's a soccer field and an intersection with Calle 5. If you turn right on Calle 5 you'll head towards Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, which is highly recommended. You can catch a bus from Quepos to Manuel Antonia for about 330 colones(very cheap). The bus stops all along the route.
→ Down Calle 5 we'll see Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción de María, a church with great architecture. At the corner of Calle 5 and Av. 5 there's car rentals and Hotel Le Priss Inn, a very cool looking hotel. Calle 5 / Av. 5 is very busy and seems chaotic, but is orderly if you're confident with driving.
→ Turning left down Av. 5, there's more supermarkets for stocking up on your food or housing needs while you're here. We'll go by La Madre Park as well, which has a path that will take you over to more local restaurants and hotels. Check out the food at De La Finca for sure.
→ Back towards the water, and we'll hit highway 235. On this strip there's a tackle shop for fishing, coffee shops and hotels. The Quepos welcome sign is here, which is great for a photo. At night there's lots of fishing near this sign while it's high tide. During the day you can watch surfers in the ocean as well.

Travelling in Costa Rica is much easier when you know some conversational Spanish. Many locals will understand English, but it will ease your experience by knowing some basic Spanish in advance. You'll be able to ask better questions and understand signs/shop owners. I recommend using Rosetta Stone before you even leave for your trip, and when you arrive you can refine your conversational skills.

BEAUTIFUL 🌊☀️ Parque Nacional MANUEL ANTONIO 🇨🇷 [2021]
This is Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, located just a few minutes drive south of Quepos, Costa Rica 🇨🇷
→ If you're staying in Quepos, getting to Manuel Antonio is very easy. There are ride sharing apps, cabs, and buses. Bus may be the easiest and cheapest way. The bus that heads to Manuel Antonio can be caught along the 618 road, which starts at the intersection of Calle 5 / Av.2. It will have a placard saying "Manuel Antonio", and the fare is about 335 Colones.
→ Along this route, there are lots of unique restaurants and scenic views as the road goes through the mountains. The restaurant "El Avoin" is highly reviewed and very unique as it has a decommissioned airplane within the restaurant.
→ When you arrive at Espadilla Beach, continue down to the end of the road. From there, you can walk up the Beach Trail to arrive at the entrance to Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio. There's a turnstile at the entrance, and a fee of about 500 Colones.
→ You'll have to choose which direction to take at this point. If you go to the left, you'll have the opportunity to walk along the Sloth Path. Sloths are more out in the morning so if you're here early it's probably better to choose left then. If you head right, you'll walk through an elevated path which goes through Mangroves. Along this path there are monkeys which will try to steal your items. Be sure to move your backpack to the front, and take off any glasses/jewelry your don't want to lose.
→ There are two beaches on opposite sides of the peninsula. This video starts at Espadilla South Beach, with some segments on the Park Trail. It's very scenic and quiet as well. As you come to the end of this beach, you'll come to a junction, where you'll be able to walk around the path at Cathedral Point. This path is less maintained but affords outstanding views of the ocean from elevated pathways.
→ There's a massive wooden lookout at this junction, which allows you to head up to tree level and look around. If you go past the wooden structure, you'll find Manuel Antonio Beach, which is fantastic. There's more people on this beach as it's a crescent bay, which provides a bit more protection from the waves of the Pacific.
→ You can then head back to the main gate by the alternative path to get the most out of your time in the park. This is an amazing location and certainly worth visiting if you're staying on the South Pacific Coast.

SUNSET IN JACO 🌅 Town + Beach Walk [NARRATED] [2021]
Let's walk town for a little bit, then head down to the beach for sunset in Jaco, Costa Rica 🇨🇷
→ We'll start this walk on the south end of central Jaco, on Pastor Diaz Ave at about Calle Sol D'Oro. With night approaching there's an increase in foot traffic as the bars become more busy.
→ We'll first pass a few department stores like Monge, Gollo, as well as Jaco Walk. Jaco Walk has lots of great restaurants which are perfect for dinner at night before heading into town.
→ We'll turn towards the beach on Calle Alice, which is a quiet street that has a few hotels. Included are Vistas Las Palmas - a very large and nice gated hotel. There's also Selina Hotel, which is a lower cost option and has very unique shops and a surf school.
→ When we get on the beach, we'll head north. Tide is about medium at this point, but if it was high tide the walking areas would be deep in water. It's worth checking the Tide Calendar to determine what conditions the beach will have at the time.
→ As we travel farther north, there's a river that runs adjacent to Calle Bohio. With heavy rain or high tide, this river can be very deep and fairly turbulent. Fortunately on this occasion the river was shallow and narrow to allow for easy crossing.
→ We go past Diamante Del Sol, a condominium complex that has very nice units. There's lots of long and short term rentals here, so the pool can become busy at certain times. The proximity to the beach and views are incredible from all the units.
→ We end our walk with the sunsetting on this fairly cloudy day. The sun sets over the mountains towards Santa Teresa which is across the Gulf of Nicoya.

CROCODILE BRIDGE 🐊 Costa Rica Tourist Attraction [2021]
This is a quick video showing the Crocodile Bridge, which is located in Puntarenas, Costa Rica 🇨🇷
→ For starters, this bridge goes across the main highway/road which heads south along the Pacific Coast. It's very busy with all kinds of traffic. As can be expected, the cars do for the most part travel very fast. If you're visiting this bridge with children please use high diligence in keeping them away from the road.
→ The crocodiles hang out around a river on the north end of the bridge. There is a limited parking area to the south end, but then you'll have to walk across the bridge to see the crocs. There's ample parking on the north end and a shorter walk. This is the side of the bridge closest to San Jose.
→ On the north side, there's a few shops which sell souvenirs. There's also some restaurants and an ice cream shop. There's lots of lads directing traffic and approaching you to sell items on the bridge. You can find parking on your own quite easily.
→ Once you walk out on the bridge over the River Tarcoles, you'll likely see the crocodiles hanging out on several small land features within the water. The crocs can be seen swimming through the water, and will occasionally pop under the water. Some can be seen on the land as well.
→ The crocs are quite a distance from the bridge, so if you're looking for great photos with a DSLR bring a tele lens. For a phone, you'd likely want a small monopod or better to stabilize the shots at this distance.
→ When you're finished up with the croc watching, you can head down to Tarcoles - a small town on the water. You can head north towards Ortina then San Jose. You can also head south towards Jaco or Quepos.
