2023 Coyote Hunt #2
Even though I didn't get a response from the first set I didn't walk away empty handed. I was lucky enough to find a really nice shed from a 10 pointer.
On the 2nd set a pair of coyotes came sneaking in and I gave one a ride home in the 'ol pickup truck.
I hope you enjoy the hunt!

2023 KY Bobcat Hunt
On this frosty morning hunt I was blessed to take a monster Kentucky bobcat on my 2nd setup of the day.
I recognized this particular cat from his markings as I had 3 encounters with him last fall and this winter. I even called him in on two previous occasions last winter but after thinking that nothing was coming into my calling when I got up to leave, he spooked as I walked back to the truck.
This hunt was extremely exciting and one that I will never forget!
I hope you enjoy it :)

2023 KY Coyote Hunt #1
What do you get when you combine 26 degree temps, a rising barometer & dead calm conditions?
An ideal morning to hunt predators.
Capturing the entire hunt on 🎥 is icing on the cake.
Remember...predator management = deer management

Mature Whitetail Strategies
At Mature Whitetail Strategies my mission is to help you achieve your deer management goals for your farm.
We’ll put together a plan for where to place food plots, water holes and mineral sites.
We’ll recommend specific locations for your tree stands and ground blinds. We’ll show you where to place trail cameras so you can monitor the deer without over pressuring the herd.
For those clients that want to capture their hunts on camera I’ll share how I self-film my deer hunts and what equipment I use.
We can’t forget about the importance of proper doe management in order to maintain a healthy herd for the carrying capacity of your property. Harvesting does is vital and of course provides excellent nutrition for you and your family.
And last but not least…we’ll tie everything together in such a way that will stack the odds in your favor in order to put you within bow range of those mature bucks.

Many does and small bucks showed up in my soybean food plot tonight but nothing I was interested in shooting.
Still every chance we get to be in the deer woods is a blessing.

2022 KY Deer Season - DAY 6
On this night I saw a few does and towards the end of the evening I heard a deer cross the creek below my stand, but I couldn't see it.
However, once I climbed down I spotted what it was...a really nice 8 pointer.
It was a wonderful night to be in the deer woods but no tag was filled.

159 2/8" Kentucky 8 pointer - The Hunt For "The Giant 8"
In this video I share the story of the pursuit for a 5.5 year old 8 pointer I named "The Giant 8".
I first laid eyes on him back in 2019 but after realizing he was only 3.5 years old he got a pass. In 2020 I tagged out on another buck I name "Brows" so once again he was safe. But in 2021 he was about a 160" class 8 pointer which is truly rare and as a 5.5 year old mature whitetail he became one of my hit list bucks for the season.
Come with me to see how the story ends...

Vuni camouflage: The Effectiveness of "Negative Space"
In the last 30 years I've tried numerous camouflage patterns and in my humble opinion most camouflage is meant to fool hunters, not game.
If you notice most companies try too hard to make their patterns extremely detailed. That's nice but at a distance all patterns form a blob. If a pattern is too dark, meaning it contains mostly solid colors, whether they're detailed or not, they form a solid outline and therefore give away your silhouette.
With Vuni camouflage the light background with lots of open or "negative space" is exactly what I've been waiting for. It even works extremely well during the spring turkey season, when the woods is covered up in green.
In this video I share a few clips from my past turkey season to illustrate just how effective the pattern is.
I hope you enjoy!

Hanging deer stands with the Nucanoe
In this video I talk about the benefits of accessing stand locations by way of water. In my opinion the Nucanoe is hands down the best tool to help you access those hard to get to hotspots.
Whether I'm checking cameras or hanging deer stands in preparation for the upcoming season one of the best ways to slip into sensitive areas undetected is by way of water.
The Nucanoe helps me get the job done very effectively. I love the incredible stability and amazing weight capacity of the Frontier 12.
Check all of the amazing options that Nucanoe has to offer at https://www.nucanoe.com
