Wide Awake
A soulful rock ballad with lyrics that cut to the core of humanity!
Second Echo's newest single, "Wide Awake"!
Words & Music: Casey Stickley
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Once again I hear the sound
Of accusation bearing down
Only meant to drown us out
And make us all afraid.
Verse 2:
Listen as the story's told
Of empty fears and baseless wrongs
How we're all just too far gone
And I'm the one to blame
'Cause I don't feel the same
Chorus 1:
I'm wide awake with my compass aiming true north
Not afraid to resist the lies that I've been told
Still I remain standing on this road I've already been down
And I've gotta break out.
Verse 3:
I used to pray to save my soul
And beg to hear which way to go
Scared if I were on my own
There might be hell to pay
But that won't make me stay
Chorus 2:
I'm wide awake with my compass aiming true north
Not afraid to replace this life I had before
Still I remain standing on this road I've already been down
And I've gotta break out.
Tag:
I've gotta break out
Before I can be found
Chorus 3:
I'm wide awake with my compass aiming true north
Not afraid to embrace this life I've never known
Still I remain standing on this road I've already been down
And I've gotta break out.
I'll never believe now....
'Till I know it deep down....

Second Echo has a mission to deliver the best guitar-driven rock available. They combine the finest elements of the classic and the modern which provides a unique and incredibly rewarding listening experience. Heavily influenced by bands such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, Second Echo wants you to remember that rock is not dead.
Fronted by Casey Stickley, Second Echo was conceived in Ohio in the late 1990s. The early years consisted of late-night writing sessions in barn lofts, countless hours playing shows in any venue available, and a couple of unproduced albums. The obligatory growing pains for any young band inevitably appeared, but the music never wavered. Second Echo persevered and an EvElution occurred.
The band's "EvElution" album is the perfect reflection of Second Echo’s commitment to producing exceptional rock music. The 11-track album demands your attention with hummable hooks, inspiring guitar solos, beautiful melodies, and even a hint of ivory. Weaving together elements of grunge, alternative, and good old fashioned rock n’ roll, EvElution is proud that each song has its own identity. That identity is also evident in lyrics that are memorable, powerful, and unapologetically honest. Second Echo has provided the very best they have to offer. No excuses. No Regrets.
Band:
Casey Stickley - Vocals/Guitar
Rick Robins - Bass/Vocals
Nate Yeasley - Drums
Lyrics:
Put on your armor and take cover as we stand up against the former
Ways of thinking they're creeping up again
Just hide the broken tree to bury all the ramifications
Take another life and we will blame it on the sound of the innocent
Line your fear and blame it on the sound of the innocent
Faces from a distant place
Craving what you sell out on the airwaves
And I don't appeal your shame
But if you blame the silence for their pain
You're just a hunter, we're the prey that you've been laying on the alter
Of a faith that kept you breathing as
Red lights and broken dreams of twisted indivisible nations
Take another life and we still blame it on the sound of the innocent
Line your fear we'll blame it on the sound of the innocent
While you're here to blame it on the sound of the innocent
I will feed you and blame it on the sound of the innocent
As you take another life, we still choose to follow you
And find that we can pay our sins tomorrow
So take another life, and we will still choose to follow you
To hide the fear that we've
Paid our sins in borrowed youth
Just take another life and we will blame it on the sound of the innocent
Line your fear and pay our sins in borrowed youth
Take another life and we will blame it on the sound of the innocent
Line your fear we'll blame it on the sound of the innocent
While you're here to blame it on the sound of the innocent
I will feed you and blame it on the sound of the innocent
Put on your armor and take cover as we stand up against the former
Ways of thinking that have been creeping up behind you
Better take your stand, and blame it on the sound of the innocent.
