April 1, 2024 (EIRNS)—Israel has launched a missile strike against the Iranian Embassy in Damascus. Among those killed was a brigadier general of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. As international opprobrium against Israel grows, is this an effort to broaden the war? To force the direct participation of the United States, for example?
As the meat grinder in Ukraine continues, more voices are pointing out the obvious: Ukraine—with the “support” NATO has been providing it—cannot defeat Russia. Even Macron has indirectly acknowledged this with his proposal for directly deploying troops to Ukraine. Former German Gen. Harold Kujat (ret.) has said that if Ukraine does not negotiate, it may not exist. Elon Musk, whose Starlink system is crucial to the Ukrainian military activities, has said the same.
Israel’s attempts to shore up its fast-eroding support on the international stage are not working; is forcing support by broadening the war the new strategy? NATO leaders have incongruously claimed not only that Ukrainian membership in NATO would have prevented Russia from daring to invade but also that Russia will march on (NATO) Western Europe after finishing with Ukraine.
In an environment filled with as many paradoxes as the present, even the most persistent ostrich would have trouble keeping its head in the sand. Who could fail to see the incongruities demanding greater understanding, were it not for the numbing effects of such things as drugs, alcohol, and surrender to social media and doomscrolling, to occupy the mind till the opportunity for thought has expired?
In both cases—that of Gaza and Ukraine the status quo cannot continue: a shift will occur. But what will it be?
An avalanche of change is required. A growing call to achieve a new paradigm of security, intertwined with economic, cultural, and technological development. While events can prompt reflection, resolution comes from within.
Against the backdrop of the horrors confronting the world, we can use the beauty of the human species, the immense good and joy that can come with a thriving, peaceful future, to develop the inner devotion to overcome our inertia and implement a system of international and social relations that make possible the resolution of the seemingly irreconcilable.
Lyndon LaRouche’s Oasis Plan, presented afresh through an upcoming April 13 Schiller Institute conference, paints, paradoxically, the global environment in which peace is possible, as reified through a detailed plan for the development of water, transport, and energy infrastructure in Southwest Asia, to transform a zone of conflict into a crossroads of connectivity.

March 4, 2024 (EIRNS)—We are warned: “Whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad.” But what if the gods are also crazy? Is there a higher law than the madness of the gods, that prevails over the affairs of man and nature? Is there, truly, an arc to a moral universe that bends towards justice, a physically pre-existent, efficient, knowable and accessible shaper of the future?
Whoever is actually responsible for the recent exposé of the “intercepted” Germany/NATO discussions of Feb. 19 about deploying Taurus missiles to destroy the Kerch Bridge in Russia, one thing should be obvious from Russia’s 2014 interception of the infamous Victoria Nuland “F— the EU” phone call. There is no doubt that the presence of French, British and American “contract military personnel” in Ukraine, as specialists and “technical advisors,” is fully known and taken into account by Russia’s military. The Taurus missile’s range means that it can reach Moscow, and if Germany provides that missile to Ukraine, there is no doubt that doing so is an act of war against Russia that must be responded to, if that becomes necessary, with maximum retaliation. So the “intercept” should tell us that we are being rapidly set on the path to thermonuclear war, whatever popular delusion may propose to the contrary.
Therefore, today, as with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, this is a time to break silence. Leaders must emerge from within the cultural Inferno of the trans-Atlantic world that take intellectual arms against this Utopian faction, before it is too late—as it already very well may be. There is reason for hope, seen in various expressions of independent leadership, accompanied by voters, demonstrators and others who are supporting their efforts.
In two interviews with Global Times in the context of the "2 sessions" currently taking place in China, Helga Zepp-LaRouche is quoted in a first interview as saying that she is hopeful the two sessions, as one of China’s most important political events, will show the world the way forward in terms of how to overcome the mistaken view that a country or a group of countries must defend its interests against another group by any means necessary. In another interview, Zepp-LaRouche said: " Chinese foreign policy has proven to be an anchor of stability. The biggest danger now is the two regional conflicts: the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Israel-Palestine conflict. And China has made comprehensive diplomatic proposals for both crises, showing the path to a peaceful solution. The extension of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) could play a decisive role in reconstruction for the countries involved in conflict in the context of a regional development perspective. The Schiller Institute has also proposed a concrete economic development plan, the Oasis plan, which could bring peace for all countries involved."
We must break the LaRouche Oasis Plan into the public discourse. In doing so, we make it the intellectual property of millions. They, by “owning” the Oasis Plan, can expropriate the “British Empire of the mind” that has subjugated them to believe in Malthusian no-win outcomes, when win-win solutions are readily available. We can counteract and overcome the spiritual desert created over the past half-century-plus in the souls of citizens who have been too cowardly to speak out from the silence, even in the face of the slaughter of tens of thousands in Gaza. “Either mankind will put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind,” has never been truer than now. That noble task has also never been more achievable.

Break Out of the Permanent War Paradigm with the LaRouche Solution
Join Helga Zepp-LaRouche in her Weekly Live dialogue and help usher in the Year of the New Paradigm for all Humanity. Send your questions, thoughts and reports to questions@schillerinstitue.com or ask them in the live stream.
In discussion with associates today, Helga Zepp-LaRouche emphasized that if you take inventory of the major developments in the world, this year is shaping up to be a very volatile year. Brazilian President Lula da Silva is heading the G20, Hungarian President Viktor Orbán is heading the EU, Russia is heading the BRICS, and Trump is likely to win the U.S. election. So the landscape in the world is guaranteed to be in flux. Add to this the fragility of the financial system which could collapse at any moment, the plan to introduce a new reserve currency, and the BRICS nations continuing to become the dominant dynamic in the world. Taken together, it is clear that the whole world could shift in the direction of a new economic system—unless of course a nuclear war is started to prevent it.
Given this situation, Zepp-LaRouche said the following:
“The only rational thing people in the United States and Europe could do is to give up this godforsaken geopolitical disease whereby you have to defeat an enemy to win, to have a zero-sum game. ‘Either you win or I lose.’ This is a completely wrong conception and the universe does not work this way, because the universe is organized in an anti-entropic way, such that if you push innovation and you push higher orders of things, you are in cohesion with the laws of the universe. Therefore, the existence of win-win cooperation on the planet would be in cohesion with the laws of the universe, while the insistence on an entropic lose-lose or zero-sum game is simply not in reality with the laws of the universe. We have to bring the political and economic order on the planet in cohesion with the laws of the universe to get to a durable peace and durable existence of human civilization.”
This responsibility rests on the shoulders of those in the United States in particular, a nation which is currently giving its nod of acceptance to a genocide in Gaza. As in the case of the self-immolation of Airman Aaron Bushnell on Feb. 25, even the best and most patriotic young people in America do not see any options to stop the horror being carried out in their own name, though many desperately want and yearn for one. It is therefore the task of the LaRouche movement, through the Oasis Plan for Southwest Asia, to restore the humanity and mission of the United States—a nation whose true traditions must urgently be restored now.

World Citizens Unite Against the City of London and Wall Street!
The facts speak for themselves. The British and American governments are deliberately and knowingly allowing Netanyahu’s Israel to commit war crimes in full view of the entire planet, crimes so heinous they are a moral blot on all humanity, and lead us to cry out: What ever happened to “Never Again!”? They are doing this “in full technicolor,” as used to be said, to send a simple message to the entire world: “Anybody else want to rebel against the City of London and Wall Street?”
In recent days, the situation in Southwest Asia has deteriorated dramatically. Israeli forces have expanded their operations and are bombing innocent Palestinian children and civilians, covered by the US and the entire West. At the same time, fighting between Israel and Hezbollah is intensifying with Israeli airstrikes deeper into southern Lebanon and counter-attacks by Hezbollah, while the US flew a third airstrike on suspected Iranian-backed militia bases in Syria. If the conflict spills over into Iran, it will be too late to talk of a ceasefire, and perhaps even too late to prevent a world war.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche summarized the situation in a dialogue with associates on Nov. 13: “The situation is rapidly, very rapidly worsening, and I think it looks extremely, extremely dangerous. Because right now we are on a course of complete escalation into a regional war. And the whole situation is so much on the edge that my absolute horror vision is that, once you are in a regional war, that it will not remain there. Because if it involves Iran, I have said this many times, that is the tripwire to world war. That is where we are at.”
The expansion of the BRICS grouping to the BRICS-11 on Jan. 1, 2024, has generated an international momentum towards creating a new international security and development architecture that the global financial Establishment fears more than anything else. It is a new architecture that is being built by different nations and civilizations around a common concept of Man: as a creative, moral being—made, in that sense, in the image of his Creator. (I changed the beginning of the paragraph to mach the other text)
The (bankrupt) City of London and Wall Street financial Establishment disagrees. They view Man as a beast whose numbers must be limited, Malthus style, and they would wipe out all worldviews—emphatically including the three great monotheistic religions—that believe otherwise. Induced religious warfare—Jew against Muslim; Christian against both; each against all—is their historic stock in trade.
Zepp-LaRouche concluded her dialogue with associates as follows: “To a very large extent—not entirely, but to a large extent—it is up to us to give people the inner strength to act in such a way that the influence they put on the situation means there is hope for the future of humanity. Given that the U.S. is the most crucial battlefield—not the only one, but the most crucial one—you should give people that sense. The world looks to you: Are you condoning what is going on, or not? We have an enormous moment, and we are in an absolutely revolutionary period and a better coalition of nations may soon be on top.”
Join Helga Zepp-LaRouche and the Schiller Institute in the fight for a new just world economic order, the new paradigm. As a creative species, mankind is born for that which is better than being driven into subjugation and World War 3 by the bankrupt financial establishment.

Stop the Slaughter in Southwest Asia — Survival Depends on Having the Courage to Change Axioms!
Read and distribute the Schiller Institute Statement for International Distribution: No More Money for Arms in Ukraine! No World War with Russia or China!! https://schillerinstitute.com/blog/2023/10/10/schiller-institute-statement-for-international-distribution-no-more-money-for-arms-in-ukraine-no-world-war-with-russia-or-china/
Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche said in dialogue with associates on Monday, Oct. 9, "You cannot look at any one of these situations individually. You have to look at Ukraine in respect to NATO expansion and the danger of that leading to World War III in the short term. Now, we have the situation in Southwest Asia. Other conflicts are looming, like the Taiwan issue with China and Global NATO. And then you have a lot of smaller conflicts, which nevertheless are very severe for the people it attacks, like Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. And not even to start to talk about Haiti and Afghanistan, and all of these other terrible situations.
“So our approach must be, we absolutely have to catalyze this whole thing into a new paradigm, because only if you establish a new security and development architecture which takes into account the security interests and development interests of every country, can there be a peaceful resolution. And that has been our policy since the beginning of the Ukraine war, and I think that that just goes for the Southwest Asia situation as well.”
The Schiller Institute has posted an international statement as a call to action. In Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 11, midday outside Congress, the LaRouche Organization will hold a rally, on the theme of, “No Money to Ukraine, No World War III with Russia, China.”
A Schiller Institute spokesman reported tonight, “In the next hours and days, the Congress of the United States, the parliaments of Canada and Europe, the presidencies of Central and South America, and the governments of Asia and Africa must hear and see the people of the world stand up for humanity against world war with Russia/China, and the ‘theater population wars’ that are part of that world war. We need to get on the phones and into the offices of public officials, we need to go into the streets and in front of governmental institutions, to say that war is not the answer; that imposing war upon the dispossessed and poor is a crime against humanity; that not one more dollar should be spent on weapons for Ukraine.

"LaRouche said that the society which was not capable of Classical thinking would not make it. And I think that that is the real challenge we have to solve. Because but if you think in terms of Classical composition, or it doesn’t matter whether it’s music, or drama, poetry, you organize your mind in a certain fashion, by always trying to reach the higher level above the prose, above the notes, or between the notes, above the text. It’s a mindset, and that mindset is the only one which gives you the ability to think the coincidentia oppositorum (coincidence of opposites). You cannot think it, if you are an Aristotelian who says, “No, but I insist on ‘A’” and the other one says, “No, but ‘B’ is the right answer!” and that way, you get World War III.
"Only if you can establish in your mind the higher One, which you can access when you think about the whole composition, or what is the concept above; and then you compare that to the absolute, idiotic sense-perception of deductive, or inductive thinking, or just positivist thinking in all of these things around us, so it’s really an axiomatic intervention to get people in a different mindset, which, if you don’t have a certain portion of the population, especially leading people—not establishment figures but people who are the common organic leaders in these kinds of situations, that is what makes the difference if a society can win or not."

Geopolitics vs. Sovereignty — Interview with Prof. Richard Falk
Full trasnscript is available here: https://schillerinstitute.com/blog/2023/09/12/interview-with-prof-richard-falk-geopolitics-vs-sovreignty/
Mike Billington of Executive Intelligence Review interviews Prof. Richard Falk
Sept. 5, 2023 (EIRNS)–This is Mike Billington with the Executive Intelligence Review and the Schiller Institute. I’m pleased to be here today with Professor Richard Falk, who has agreed to an interview about current affairs and world developments in this crucial moment in history. Professor Falk, would you like to say a few words about your own history and your role in history?
Prof. Richard Falk: I’m not sure I have a role in history. I’ve taught at universities all of my adult life, starting with Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, in 1955, moving to Princeton University, where I stayed for 40 years, retiring in 2001, and since then I have been connected both with the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Queen Mary University in London. I’ve done a fair amount of writing over the decades, including a memoir called Public Intellectual—The Life of a Citizen Pilgrim—along with a stream of commentary on global issues. I have led at times a confusing life, which accounts for the bewildering title, I suppose. I have been active through the UN in supporting the Palestinian struggle for human rights and self-determination, and served as UN Special Rapporteur for the Human Rights Council on Occupied Palestine between 2008 and 2014. During this period I was frequently defamed as an anti-Semite and self-hating Jew and otherwise targeted and discredited. Recently, I’ve continued more quietly to write for publication, including a book of poems, Waiting for Rainbows, splitting my time between Turkey and the US.
I suppose this is enough by way of introduction, maybe more than enough. I would just add that I’m glad to do this interview with Mike Billington, although I’ve had severe differences with the Lyndon LaRouche movement in the past. I’ve also been a target of what I consider their defamatory attacks connected with my support for the pro-democracy, anti-Marcos movement in the Philippines and the insurgent campaign for the protection of human rights in Iran. Such disagreements persist. Despite this I feel that those who seek a safer, more secure, more peaceful and just world have to let these bygones-be-bygones and collaborate in the present for the good of humanity and future generations.
Mike Billington: Well, that’s quite interesting. You and I have discussed privately those differences, which we maintain as differences, both in regard to the history and other aspects of things. But they don’t necessarily have to come up today unless you wish to bring them up further.
Let me start by referencing the fact that you were a speaker at an event sponsored by my friend Chandra Muzaffar in Malaysia, the head of Just International, organized by an organization called SHAPE, Save Humanity And Planet Earth—along with other speakers from the US, from China, from Korea, and from Australia. You referred to what you called the “unstable tension between geopolitics and self-determination,” which I found to be the most profound point of that conference. Could you comment on that and explain what you mean by that?
Prof. Falk: I will try. I’ve been preoccupied with geopolitics in the context of the Ukraine War, which started as a Russian attack on Ukraine, transformed itself, due to the intrusive role that US NATO forces played, into what I call a “geopolitical war” between Russia and the United States, in which the outcome in Ukraine was subordinated by stages to the strategic goal of inflicting a geopolitically significant defeat on Russia, and at the same time to send a warning signal to China not to attempt, with respect to Taiwan, to do the same thing that Russia has tried to do, at least that it was alleged to be trying to do.
My specific connection of self-determination with these issues arose from my sense of the Vietnam War and its outcome, how the US, so predominant militarily, managed, despite a huge investment over a long period of time, to lose the war. That, I think, has been responsible in part for the decline of the US, in part the result of many years of overinvestment and overreliance on military solutions and military approaches to international problems, coupled with an underestimation of the forces of national self-determination, which in Vietnam showed they prepared more patiently to pay the costs and devise effective tactics of resisting efforts of an imperial intervenor to suppress the basic rights of a people in a historical period of decolonization. What I fear in the present context is a similar exaggerated reliance on militarism as a solvent for international problems and an activation of a variety of nationalist responses dangerously intensifying geopolitical warfare, and posing unacceptable risks of a nuclear confrontation..

Living a Thousand Lives in One: A Lesson from LaRouche and Leibniz
Dennis Small delivers a presentation to a Cadre School July 15, 2023.
Excerpted from Lyndon LaRouche's paper, "MY EARLY ENCOUNTER WITH LEIBNIZ: On Monadology." Read the complete paper here: https://larouchepub.com/eiw/public/2008/eirv35n08-20080222/eirv35n08-20080222_026-my_early_encounter_with_leibniz-lar.pdf
My first significant, and lasting encounter with the work of Gottfried Leibniz, erupted in the context of my adolescent years' virtual "guerrilla war" against the cult of Euclidean geometry. This eruption occurred during the interval between my fourteenth and fifteenth years. Leibniz's Monadology, albeit read by me then in translations into English, was the first work to which I became seriously and permanently attached on this account, as if attached to something which I began to recognize then as encompassing the entirety of myself.
This was the subject which occupied most of the pages of my scribbles deposited into those high school recess-periods' notebooks which I filled out during those years. It was the Monadology whose specific mode of argument gripped me for reason of its relevance to my already established rejection of what passed for the teaching of Euclidean Plane Geometry, as later, of Solid Geometry, and, still later, of so-called Cartesian ("Analytic") Geometry, and, then, the perverted, Cauchy version of the Differential Calculus.
As I have publicized fragments of reports on this subject, scattered among sundry lectures and published writings over the course of, especially, the recent four decades: my rejection of Euclid, at my first classroom encounter with that dogma, reflected conclusions which I had reached in study of constructions which I had observed earlier, at Boston's Charlestown Navy Yard. At that Navy Yard, I had been struck by the way in which structural beams were crafted to the purpose of increasing the ratio of the weight of the supporting aspects, to total weight of structures supported, supported so, by the manner chosen for the shaping of supporting beams and its structure as a whole.[2]
Guided by my memory of that important experience I had enjoyed at the Navy Yard, I left the first hour spent in that geometry classroom on the first day of geometry class, correctly convinced that the reductionist method employed by adoption of Euclid's so-called a priori definitions, axioms, and postulates, was essentially (e.g., axiomatically) wrong. This conviction grew into becoming my later years' recognition that the origin of Euclid's hoax was to be located in the influence of the Sophist Aristotle on his relevant follower, Euclid.
It was the foregoing experience which had prompted my virtually allergic rejection of my subsequent high school and university experience of the teaching of Analytic Geometry, and, later, my mind's refusal to tolerate the axiomatic, reductionist assumptions taught (to me) as Differential Calculus at the university undergraduate level. This evidence prompted that same seemingly allergic reaction against a Differential Calculus consistent with the dogmas of Laplace and Cauchy. My happier, although soon interrupted, war-time experience with certain aspects of a course which was taught as Integral Calculus, during classes held at the university during the Autumn of 1942, provided, albeit briefly, unfortunately, at that time, a strong affirmation of the viewpoint which I had adopted some years earlier. This produced my recognition of the need for a truly Leibnizian calculus which would be based specifically on a fully conscious, efficient rejection of the axiomatically reductionist, Sophist, Aristotelean model of Euclid.
It was this same accumulated experience from the 1936-1942 interval, which provoked what proved later to have been my post-war, 1946-47 reaction to the writings of such topics as those damnably reductionist views of such criminals as Aristotle and Euclid on the categorical subject of life. Already, then, I saw life clearly as being necessarily an ontologically specific mode of existence, as in my short-lived attraction to the work of Pierre Le Comte du Noüy, and my subsequent, 1948 reaction against the radically reductionist[3] pollution expressed by Professor Norbert Wiener's cultish quackery of "information theory." Thence, I was led, by 1953, from reflections on the essential folly of "information theory," to the adoption of the standpoint of Bernhard Riemann's 1854 habilitation dissertation: a Riemann work whose opening two printed pages had then already sufficed, for what should be recognized as obvious reasons, to touch and excite my soul, then, as in the preparation of this present writing, today.

In light of the BRICS Summit: Let's Talk About Ending the Isolation of the Global North!
Join Helga Zepp-LaRouche in a live dialogue on August 23 to discuss how to overcome the increasingly obvious fact that the Global North is isolating itself.
The BRICS Summit being held Aug. 22-24, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa is a strategic turning point, even if you don't hear it from Western mainstream media. With representatives from more than 40 countries and the leaders of the group's five members (Vladimir Putin via video link for security reasons), it will consolidate the rapidly advancing shift away from the "unipolar world" and its "rules-based order."
On the eve of the BRICS summit, Schiller Institute Chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche called on Global North citizens on Aug. 19 to "support the building of a new just world economic order." Please support the appeal with a signature and spread it to friends and institutions.
The appeal was published in an international brochure of the Schiller Institute entitled, "Colonialism is over! Appeal to the U.S. and Europe: Support a new, just world economic order, not war!" and distributed in the context of the BRICS Summit.
Furthermore, the Schiller Institute is organizing an internet conference on September 9 with the title: "Let us Join Hands with the Global Majority To Create a New Chapter in World History!" to discuss, among other things, the results of the BRICS summit and the linking of the movement of the global South (the global majority) with the new peace movement.

Let a Garden Amidst a Million Gardens Bloom!

A two-day international conference was held on the weekend of July 8-9 in Strasbourg, France by the Schiller Institute, titled “On the Verge of a New World War: European Nations Must Cooperate with the Global South!” The proceedings were organized into five panels, with three on Day One July 8, featuring 22 speakers, from 14 different countries, ending with an evening concert of classical music. The second day’s two panels, which also included musical offerings, had wide-ranging discussions, involving many of the audience of more than 200 attendees. (See the full program below).
This event, and the process of deliberation it represents, stands in sharp contrast to the recently convened Paris “Summit for a New Global Financial Pact,” where leaders of the Global South ridiculed the hypocrisy of their European counterparts. As opposed to the not-so-hidden Malthusian “green imperialist” depopulation agenda of the arrogant Paris Summit, the Schiller Institute colloquy is an opportunity for peoples of all continents to gather for the purpose of deliberation on how to bring about a peaceful and prosperous future for the entire human race.
The Schiller Institute conference is also a timely and necessary intervention against Global NATO’s July 11–12 Vilnius, Lithuania summit, where bloodthirsty leaders of the West’s Military-Industrial Complex will be plotting more measures which, unless stopped, will bring about the destruction of humanity through thermonuclear war.
The Schiller Institute’s panels covered a broad range of critical economic, strategic, and cultural themes. Notable was the fact that due to the Covid-19 pandemic this was the first in-person Schiller Institute conference in three years! The conference opened with the famous Adagio cantabile of Beethoven’s C minor Pathétique piano sonata, performed by Werner Hartmann, of the Schiller Institute.
Panel I: Peace in the World Through a New Security and Development Architecture for Each and Every Country: The Indispensable Strategic Autonomy of European Countries
Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder and leader of the Schiller Institute, gave the conference keynote, “Let a Garden Amidst a Million Gardens Bloom!” (Full text on this website). She set the tone for the panel by contrasting the tragic consequences of the collapsing trans-Atlantic “rules based order” attempting to maintain its hegemony, with the rising nations of the Global South, freeing themselves from centuries of colonial servitude and asserting their right to economic development.
Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche asserted at the beginning of her presentation her commitment: “We will revive the best of what European culture has produced … and we will bring that into the shaping of the New Paradigm!” (Her full presentation is below.)
