" My dream is to help others out there because I know there is hope - I’m living proof,“ says Fiona Swartz, a former homeless woman and drug addict helped by the Streetscape Community Project in the city centre.
Fiona has started a BackaBuddy campaign to raise funds to pursue her dream of becoming a social auxiliary worker to help others who are in the position she once was.

The 2.4m x 1.4m wall-mounted display was designed by Richard Smith, owner of Gateway Guides and a member of the Historical Society of Cape Town.
Mr Smith collaborated with the Fish Hoek Valley Museum, the Historical Society of Cape Town, and the Valyland Centre, to bring the timeline to life.

On Monday 19 August, Estwynn Malgas youth leader at the Father’s House church and his team addressed bullying and violence at schools and at home. The programme also addressed gender based violence which was rife in many communities. Mr Malgas said that teenagers were falling victim to all sorts of crime and an intervention was needed.
