The path down to Deception Pass Beach is steep, and lined with huge second-growth trees, both Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir. This is a Douglas Fir, and I included my husband for scale.

In our backyard, one of our pair of Red-breasted Nuthatches eats suet. You can also see one of our male Juncos on the fence.

Standing on the boardwalk at Narbeck Wetland, turned around and captured the upstream side of the tiny creek.

A big Steller's Jay found out how to perch on the hanger so he can get at the hot-pepper suet. That suet lasts about a week or less-the birds love it!

Just downstream from the calm water, the Wenatchee River flows over what used to be a hydroelectric dam, and is now a wide waterfall. June is still the Spring Flood, as you can see from the video. This is the Danger referred to in the previous video.

A week before Christmas, shoppers thronged the Bellevue (WA) Square Mall. But if memory serves, there were many fewer people there than in past years. It only took us a few minutes to find a parking place in the garage. And nearly 100% of the shoppers wore their mandated masks. I found that depressing. I was not masked.

Along Interstate 82 in Washington State, driving through the orchards and vineyards of Central Washington.

It's snowing in Everett, WA, and our yard is full of birds. Juncos, a Song Sparrow, and Common Bushtits love our suet and seed feeders.

Here is the first set of fireworks, which went on for nearly 30 minutes. Spectacular!

Along Washington State Highway 504, on the road to Mount St. Helens, we stopped at a pullout along the road, where we got a view of the lower Toutle River. In 1980, when the volcano erupted, the river valley was a sea of mud, rock, and downed trees.

At Edmonds, Washington, Brackett's Landing Park, I stood on the shore, watching a ferry approach. The wind was blowing hard, and the water was ruffled.

We have a pair of Red-breasted Nuthatches, and this week they are feeding their fledgling at our seed and suet feeders. The baby sits in the vine maple tree, and mom and dad bring him seeds and bits of suet. While the Juncos come and go in the tree, too.

This little guy was less than three feet from me, as he ate at my suet feeder. It's remarkable how he can hang off the wire basket when he looks away between bites to make sure no one is going to challenge him for the suet.

Standing on the dock on the east side of the lake, I pointed the camera at the plants growing in the green water, as the water rippled. I also got a dog chasing a ball into the lake, and water-lilies on the south side of the lake.

A pair of Juncos visited our backyard. They are normally ground-feeders, and they are "cleaning up" under our seed feeder. The male has the black hood, while the female's head is gray.

Near Green River, Wyoming, we admired the beautiful bluffs. And also the long train, carrying Wyoming coal to market.

We have a pair of Downy Woodpeckers who visit our suet feeder. Here's the male, getting his Sunday breakfast.

After I finished planting some grasses in the yard, I grabbed my phone to see what birds I could capture. Here's our Song Sparrow, bopping around near the seed feeder, and cleaning up after himself and other birds who almost seem to scatter more seed than they eat.

Temps have been in high teens and twenties for a few days around here. Our little flock of bushtits dropped by this morning. The Song Sparrow waited his turn on the ground.

On the Crystal Serenity cruise ship, in the Pacific Ocean on the way to Alaska. I have always loved watching a ship's wake. It's hypnotic.

We had a downpour this morning, replenishing the garden which was pretty dry. I loved the way the raindrops splashed into the bird-bath. And my internal soundtrack was Bob Dylan.
