Speed Limits in Hanoi: Technical vs. Practical
In this Vlog, I discuss the difference between the official speed limit and the true speed limit. Often times speed limit signs are rare or absent. Therefore, you should always try to follow the practical speed limit. What Does that mean? In short, drive the speed that the traffic conditions and road conditions allow.

Motocross Helmet Review: LS2 Subverter
After almost 2 years of using this helmet for off road, trail riding, motocross and enduro, I'm giving a long-term review of the LS2 Subverter.
The positive aspects are:
1. Variety of color choices (I like white).
2. Lots of ventilation.
3. Close fitting, not flopping around.
4. Removable liner, helmet is very washable.
5. Safety compliance: MIPS, DOT, ECE rated.
6. Visor does not catch air at higher speed.
The negative aspects are:
1. It's not very light: 2.5 kilos.
2. Air vents are rather small.
3. Low chin guard hits my shoulders sometimes.
4. Internal chassis for padding tends to separate.
5. Light colored padding shows dirt easily.
6. No cut outs for speakers or coms unit.
In summary, after over 50 rides with the LS2 Subverter, I think that it is worth the money I paid and I believe that it is generally a good buy around the $200 price range.
Thanks very much to the generosity of the composer of the music:

In the spring of 2022, Vietnam hosted its first Enduro competition in Moc Chau. I had the opportunity to participate, in the professional class. It was my first competition and proved to be quite a challenging experience, more than I bargained for. This is the video I made of my experience.
Video 2 is about the final race.

Hanoi Commute in April
It was a beautiful day in April, and I decided to give you a taste of Hanoi traffic at about 4:30 after work. One thing to remember about Hanoi traffic: you can do anything as long as you do it slowly and make sure everyone can see you. Other than that, it's kind of a free-for-all.

6 Tips for Rain Riding in Vietnam
In this video I take one of my bikes out for a short run after a rain storm. Because bikes are such an important form of transport in Vietnam, you will eventually need to ride in the rain. So remember:
Use a bike with good road tires,
Bring a full rain suit,
Wear bright colors,
Keep your lights on,
Brake and accelerate slowly,
Drive Gently on steel sheets and man-hole covers.
