Clip from gig using new GoPro
Clip from gig using new GoPro
A clip from yesterday's gig at Hammock Beach Resort. It's the first tune, so I was still making adjustments.
The audio is unedited, but sounds decent. I actually thought it was going to be worse considering the camera was under the speaker. If I can get away with this, it'll save me a lot of post production work.

King Nothing (remake)
King Nothing (remake)
Debut recording from Will Brinkley's studio, Rocky Jax Studio. Will is one of my senior students from the Maestro's Studios days, and has picked up where my studio left off. This is a tribute to Metallica; the band that inspired him to play and study music. Hope you enjoy!

Hungry Like a Wolf (cover)
Hungry Like a Wolf (cover)
For the short time that Sofa King, a project I was involved with earlier this year (2010), was together, we had a chance to put together some really cool tunes in the studio. So, here's one of those tunes.

Hell Yeah!
Hell Yeah!
An original composition I approached in a different way in 2007. Oftentimes, rock tunes are written harmonically or riff first, then the melodies are developed over top of the harmony.
This time most of the piece was written top down from the melody as one would with a classical or jazz composition.
In addition, I was experimenting with a bunch of next level software that made the whole process easier to develop and record. It was exciting and a ton o' fun to create.
Hope you enjoy!

Clip from funk scat solo in Gm with an LC Guitars classical midi guitar & Roland GR-55
Using the new L.C. Classical midi guitar and the Roland GR-55.
Most takes are one-offs. Did this quick just to get the feel of all the new gear. Amazing just how much more efficiently and faster everything is coming together.
Maybe I should keep a shirt and hat ready, especially if everything is going to start moving more quickly.

A little Latin motif, theme, or ditty as some might say. Probably have some suds and do somethin' with it. Saludo! 🍻

And if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last. When all are one and one is all; to be a rock and not to roll....
