Chiang Kai-shek
The majestic, enormous Chiang Kai-shek memorial stands in downtown Taipei along with the National Theater, the National Concert Hall, and an easily over-looked garden with birds, fish, turtles and a white arched bridge that attracts pedestrians tired of viewing the other buildings. I interspersed views of the garden with the monument and landmark buildings and also used time lapse to show the huge crowds.

Longshan
Perhaps the most significant temple in all of Taiwan, Longshan Buddhist Temple in Taipei draws hundreds of people every day to worship and view the intricate art that adorns the buildings. Every morning, several monks chant as the crowds gather. I recorded the sounds and included them in my video. The colors are somewhat muted as the weather was dark and rainy when I visited.

Snake Temple
One of my favorite Buddhist temples, the Snake Temple is often called the “Red Temple” and resembles sandstone. (It’s really closer to pink than red.) Formally, it’s called Wat Ratchathammaram or Wat Sila Ngu. It’s located near Lamai Beach on Ko Samui Island in Thailand. I found dozens of intricate frescos including many depicting snakes and other monsters. Except for an occasional tour group, I mostly had the temple all to myself. It also has a beautiful little private beach—a great place for a picnic.

World's Most Beautiful Beach
This beach in Krabi Province in southern Thailand always makes peoples’ lists of the world’s most beautiful beaches with its clear water, white sand and limestone mountains. The beach is only accessible by boat—typically a longtail boat. I stayed overnight alongside the Andaman Sea so I could enjoy the serenity and quiet in the mornings before the crowds arrived from the mainland. My video starts before sunrise and ends at night—a quick day in the life of the world’s most beautiful beach.

Wat
My favorite temple in Bangkok, Wat Suthat. I like it because it’s magnificent, near Bangkok’s subway, and typically not on the tourist list. Even on days when the big attractions like the Grand Palace are swarming with visitors, Wat Suthat is frequently nearly empty. Instead of an elephant theme, like so many temples, this one features a number of horses along with several very impressive statue gardens. I started the video with pictures of these and finished with the large buildings and their multi-colored tile roofs.
