Former Arizona state, Democrat Sen. Otoniel “Tony” Navarrete received a sentence of one year in prison following his February conviction for sexually molesting a teenage boy he was caring for. The former lawmaker was taken into custody by a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputy after the proceeding. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Kristin Culbertson, before ordering the sentence, offered Navarrete the chance to get 60 days in jail and 10 years of supervised probation. The Fairfax County Adult Detention Center did not honor ERO Washington, D.C.’s immigration detainer and released the noncitizen from custody on a $10,000 bond on July 10, 2023. The Fairfax County Police Department arrested the Honduran national again on Feb. 22, 2024, and charged him with two additional counts of felony carnal knowledge of child 13-14years of age: without force and two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child less than 15 years of age. Later that day, the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center released him from custody before ERO Washington could file an immigration detainer against him. Deportation officers from ERO Washington, D.C.’s Mobile Criminal Apprehension Team arrested him April 15 and served him with a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge. A man has been found guilty of the "brazen" rape of a 15-year-old girl after he took her out of her depth in the sea and assaulted her. Gabriel Marinoaica remains in custody after being found guilty of the three charges of sexual assault and the rape of the teenager at Bournemouth Beach in July 2021. The girl could not swim and was pulled out to sea by the 20-year-old of Darlastan, Walsall, West Midlands.
