State trooper leaves position after controversial arrest video
A state trooper who arrested two LGBT activists in Philadelphia after a traffic stop has now left his position, after part of the interaction was filmed and shared online. Celena Morrison, executive director of City Hall’s Office of LGBT Affairs, and husband Darius McLean were arrested in March after a traffic stop escalated, although the events leading up to the arrest are unclear. It was claimed in a subsequent report that ‘the individual refused multiple lawful orders made by the trooper,’ and ‘resisted arrest on multiple occasions,’ with both ultimately arrested for ‘Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Justice, Disorderly Conduct and other related charges.’
Following the video’s publication, Pennsylvania State Police said a full investigation, including witness interviews, were in the process looking into the traffic stop and all aspects of the encounter. The unnamed officer is confirmed to no longer be working for the department, although it’s unknown whether he resigned or was fired.

Transformers statues found full of ketamine
Several life-size (ish) Transformers statues bound for a movie exhibition in Taiwan were stopped in Thailand and found to be packed with an extraordinary amount of ketamine.
The drugs hidden inside Bumblebee et al were found in an elaborate sting operation, following a multinational police effort to monitor an unknown woman who had tried to smuggle 100kg of methamphetamine hidden in a food processor into Australia. Her latest ‘decepticon’ involved packing giant Transformers statues with 320kg of ketamine and paying $4,800 to a shipping company to send ostensibly to a movie exhibition in Taiwan.
A woman from Laos was supposed to intercept the shipment and distribute the drugs, which were made in Cambodia, across the region. While the ketamine, estimated to have a street value of nearly $20 million, was seized, the ‘lynchpins’ of this international drug smuggling scheme remain at large, probably thinking of more weird things they can stick drugs in.
