Ukrainian anti-tank barriers found abandoned
They’re called Dragon’s Teeth. In some of the more salacious outlets, they were called the ‘wall of DEATH’ (emphasis theirs). Ukraine has allocated nearly a billion dollars so far this year for the construction of these barriers along the front lines, especially in the Kharkov region, according to AP. The Dragon’s Teeth have one fatal weakness though: they don’t work if they just get dumped on the side of the road.
Such is the fate of these fortifications (if they can still be called that) in Lipsy, which apparently have been abandoned since 2023 according to one Ukrainian soldier, not long after their much-vaunted construction. Questions are now being asked as to why the anti-tank barrier was abandoned and why statements about its construction are quietly disappearing from the internet. Tamaz Gambarashvili, the head of Vovchansk City Military Administration has said that the barrier was built, is still being built, and the reason it wasn’t already was because there were Russians nearby.

Immigrants should all become lifeguards because they are ‘excellent swimmers’ – NYC Mayor
Did you know that all people who come to the US are excellent swimmers? Neither did we, but fortunately New York Mayor Eric Adams is on hand to bring us up to speed.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Adams was asked by reporters about potential lifeguard shortages ahead of Memorial Day. The mayor took this opportunity to put one of his high-IQ schemes into the spotlight, suggesting that all 197,100 immigrants in the city could become lifeguards, because they are all ‘excellent swimmers,’ and it’s only that pesky red tape stopping the city becoming a Baywatch convention. That, according to Adams, is the ‘only obstacle.’
‘That just does not make sense,’ said Adams, and it was unclear if he was referring to the red tape or to his plan.

French Pacific Island under curfew after mass rioting
New Caledonia, a French overseas territory in the Pacific Ocean, has been placed under curfew after violent protests erupted in response to proposed changes to the local voting system. The unrest was triggered by a bill passed by the French National Assembly aimed at allowing non-indigenous citizens to vote in New Caledonia’s local elections. This move has raised concerns among local independence activists that it could diminish the voting power of the indigenous Kanak people.
The protests, marked by arson, looting, and gunshots in the regional capital Noumea, led to more than 130 arrests and numerous injuries among both rioters and police officers. In response, a curfew from 6pm to 6am was declared, public gatherings were banned, and the international airport was closed until further notice. Additional police forces were deployed to restore order.
While the authorities defended the reform as a step towards democracy, locals warned that allowing foreigners to vote in elections could lead to resentment, escalation of violence, and the potential of civil war.

Woman tackles peeping Tom in gender neutral
Stories about men doing weird things around women in dressing rooms are common these days, so how about a nice, throwback, peeping Tom story. A mother of five in a suburb of Denver, Colorado ended up going massively viral on the internet after she was filmed tackling the aforementioned peeping Tom in a department store dressing room and holding him in a headlock. For about 20 minutes.
Michelle Chandler told local media, ‘as I went to take these pants off, I bent down, and I looked over and I saw men’s shoes, socks and his phone pointing right at me.’ They were ‘gender neutral’ dressing rooms, so while the man was technically allowed to be there, he wasn’t supposed to be taking pictures. Or have a knife. Fortunately, other people were there… to film the altercation. Chandler had no option but to treat him like they used to treat them in the olden days: get him in a headlock, shame him, restrain him with a belt and wait for the authorities.
As she put it, ‘This is why men don’t belong in women’s fitting rooms.’ What a brave statement.

Amazon worker tries to shoot boss in the head
This is the moment a disgruntled Amazon security guard tried to murder his supervisor by shooting him in the head at point blank range, only for the gun to fail. 22-year-old Ali Hamsa Yusuf was caught on CCTV sneaking up behind his boss at a warehouse in Ohio, preparing to shoot him in the back of the head.
Luckily for his oblivious boss, the gun failed to properly discharge, and Yusuf’s (no longer oblivious) boss is seen sprinting for cover as Yusuf casually makes his way out of the exit.
Police arrived at the scene within two minutes of being alerted to an active shooter, and Yusuf’s vehicle was tracked down, resulting in a shootout in which the gunman was killed.
It’s not yet known why Yusuf tried to shoot his supervisor. He’d only been in training for two weeks, and had no known criminal history. We’ve all heard the stories about Amazon, but we’re sure it can’t be that bad.
