Are you willing to figure out what those things are? Are you open to the idea that you might change your objectives based on new things that you discover about the world and yourself? 2. An interest in learning. Are you willing to learn about goal setting? Overcoming fear? Discipline? Communication skills? Reading about new ideas? There’s a lot that you don’t know that you need to know if you’re going to become everything that you’re capable of being. 1 3. The willingness to fail. Trying new things requires failure. It’s rare and lucky to succeed at something the first time. Whether you’re learning to be a better public speaker, taking a class, or learning how to play the violin, there will be failure. Failure provides the opportunity to learn and then to apply that knowledge during future attempts. 4. The desire to experiment. Should you eat a vegan, vegetarian, or paleo diet? Try them all and see what works for you. You can’t be certain what you want to have, do, or be until you’ve experimented and found the best answer for yourself. 5. The ability to set your ego aside. Your ego is a major obstacle when it comes to maximizing your personal growth. Your ego makes you more likely to be certain you’re right when you’re wrong. It leads you to blame others when the fault is your own. It also makes you afraid to fail. 6. Value improvement over perfection. Daily improvement is incredibly powerful. It’s not possible to be great at something instantly. When you can get excited about improving by 1% at something, you have a great mindset for personal growth. 7.Patience. Personal growth is an ongoing process. It may take decades to become the best possible version of yourself. Even figuring out the ideal sleeping schedule can take several weeks of trial and error. It takes time to get over your social anxiety or lose weight. Patience is an important factor! 8. Determination. Changing and growing isn’t for the weak. It’s important to be 2 determined and committed to changing yourself and your life. Determination is a valuable asset to have in many facets of life. Even people with minimal talent have become incredibly successful through great determination. Personal growth is challenging, but it can be a lot easier with a mindset that supports your desire to grow. Too many people try to grind their way to progress, but real growth requires more finesse much of the time. Grinding also isn’t sustainable for most people. Budgeting time to do the things you love helps keep you fresh. Here are ten tips to help you prevent burnoue on the lookout for warning signs. People feel the effects of burnout in different ways. Perhaps you're feeling weary and exhausted without the energy necessary to perform. Or maybe you feel sad or stressed out most of the time. ● Some people experience blurred-vision or difficulty finding words or focusing on anything in front of them (called "tunnel vision"). ● Or you might worry about work all the time, even when you aren't working. ● Once you've found the root of your burnout, it's easier to handle it. 2. Take regular breaks. Anywhere from 10-20 minutes can make all the difference between staying in your zone and falling asleep at your desk. When you feel burnout creeping up, take a break for your health and well-being. ● Even if you're only winding down for five minutes, sit somewhere quiet to think things over. 3. Follow a good sleep pattern. Studies show that people who get less than seven hours of sleep each night are more likely to burn out. There’s an issue with this strategy: There’s a lot to be gained from struggling. There are many aspects to humans that are anti-fragile, meaning that stress makes them stronger. For example: Exercise is a stressor that delivers positive benefits. Being hot or cold, within reason, is good for your health. Fasting is beneficial. Struggling is similar in that it makes you better than you were before the struggle. Consider these benefits of struggling: 1.You learn a lot about yourself when you struggle. You don’t learn a lot about yourself while you’re watching a movie for the fifth time from your couch. When life is easy, you have a natural tendency to coast. Any struggle is a test of your will, ingenuity, and perseverance. 2.It’s a chance to learn how to use failure. Struggles often end in “failure.” Failure is a powerful tool when used properly. If you never struggle, you never get to 1 practice using failure to your advantage. The most successful people fail a lot. They also know how to use failure to come back better and stronger. You also have the opportunity to learn that failure isn’t as traumatic as you thought. 3.You can learn to persevere. The average person won’t struggle very hard, or for very long, before giving up. Any challenging time can be used to increase your perseverance. Success is practically guaranteed if you never give up on your goals. 4. Discipline is required. To overcome a challenge, discipline is required. It’s easy to procrastinate when you have to do challenging things. Discipline is needed to do the hard thing. 5.You become mentally stronger. Struggling can make you stronger psychologically. People that have had an easy life tend to be mentally soft. Only those that have faced struggles have had the chance to build mental toughness. Think about someone you know that’s had an easy life. How tough are they? 6.Your self-confidence increases. Effectively dealing with struggles makes you feel like you can take on the world. You feel confident and powerful. You gain self-confidence by dealing with adversity.
