Soap - Season Three - Episode Thirteen - 1980 - HD
Continuing the Season Three of the brilliant show "Soap" from 1980.
First aired on Jan 10th 1980.
In this episode.......
This episode begins with Mary learning she's pregnant, and eager to celebrate with her husband Burt, who cannot tell her about his fatal illness diagnosis.
This leads to much crossed wires in the scene between them.
Danny and Polly have a great scene in a laundromat.
Billy and Leslie wake up after spending the night together.
Billy says that he has now found something better than TV.
He says he wants to shout to the world from the rooftops, but Leslie says he was so loud that most of them already know.
A terrific scene.
Jodie tries to reassure Danny about his relationship with Polly - saying ignore the idiots, as he has had to his whole life.
Pregnant Mary, eating everything in sight, suddenly realizes after talking with Jessica, that the baby may not be Burt's - it may be alien Burt's...........
As usual, a very funny and poignant episode.

Pickup Alley - 1957 - Full Movie - Victor Mature/Anita Ekberg/Trevor Howard - Crime/Drama - HD
Back to the 1950's for this crime drama, starring Victor Mature as a US narcotics agent chasing Trevor Howard as an international drug smuggler, with Anita Ekberg as his drug courier.
Mature also has a more personal reason for chasing Howard, as he strangled his young sister, also an agent.
Interpol get involved after Ekberg causes another death - this film was originally called Interpol before being released in the US as Pickup Alley - as various story strands come together.
I found this a good, although hardly brilliant "B" film - with an excellent performance by Howard as the villain - it fits right in with my current crime film uploads I hope.
Even a small role by Sid James as a barman was fun to see.

87th Precinct - Season One - Episode Three - Lady Killer - 1961 - TV Series - Crime/Drama - HD
This series is based on the wonderful books of Ed McBain, and focuses on the lives of the lives of the officers of the 87th precinct in Manhattan.
The main characters are Detectives Steve Carella, Bert Kling, Meyer Meyer and Roger Havilland - plus Steve's deaf mute wife Teddy.
The books were first rate, and this series gives a fair stab at capturing the gritty side of their life.
This episode is based on the 87th Precinct series novel "Lady Killer" from 1958 - the eighth novel in the series.
In this episode......
A young boy delivers a note to the precinct, which says he will kill "The Lady" at 8pm if the police don't stop him.
So begins a frantic search for the note writers identity and intended victim.
Another great yarn, which although based on the novel, has some differences.
I recall that this book introduced a new Detective to the 87th, who became a regular. but here he is not seen - in fact I don't think Detective "Cotton" Hawes appears in any of the TV Series.
A shame, as he was a great character.
First aired Oct 9th 1961

Shake Rattle And Roll - Spooking Is Hazardous To Your Health - Episode 6 - 1977 Cartoon Short - 720p

It is Episode Six, and called "Spooking is Hazardous To Your Health"

I apologize if it is not completely accurate - I tried my best.

Billy Swan - I Can Help - Live - 1974 - USTV - HD
This is a live performance by Billy Swan of his massive hit "I Can Help", taken from the TV show "The Midnight Special".

Heyyy, It's The King - Snowbound Safari - 1977 Cartoon Short - Episode Ten - HD
Tenth episode of the cartoon series "Heyyy, It's The King" from 1977.
Broadcast date was 12th Nov 1977.
The show was part of the series CB Bears - which consisted of six different short cartoons, all which kind of spoofed another show.
This was clearly a spoof of the TV Show "Happy Days", with the King based on Henry Winkler's character Fonzie.
Alongside The King are Big H, Skids, Clyde and Yuka Yuka, plus cheerleaders
Sheena and Zelda.
An enjoyable short cartoon, with plenty of laughs and good characters.

Nightmares & Dreamscapes - Episode Three - Umney's Last Case - TV Mini Series - 2006 - Fantasy - HD
This series is an adaptation of one of Stephen King's most wonderful collection of short stories - the book is exceptional and if you haven't read it, you should most definitely do so.
Just eight of the stories were in the TV Mini Series, but they include many of my personal favourites.
The series aired on TV in 2006 - eight episodes over the course of four weeks.
Third episode is called "Umney's Last Case" - and could be my favourite from the series. It certainly was a wonderful story in the original book collection in 1993.
It has a brilliant performance by William H. Macy as both the private eye Clyde Umney, and the writer Samuel Landry.
It has a great twist which I won't give away here - now the TV show is a little different to the book, in how things are set up, and play out.
But it is still well done, with fine performances all round, with the final scene promising some revenge for events that occur.
Just fabulous.

Soap - USTV - Season Two - Episode Twenty Two(Season Finale) - 1979 - HD
Concluding Season Two of the comedy from the 1970's "Soap"
This is episode 22 from the 15th March 1979.
To omit opening credits start here: 01:29
Not normally any spoilers for Series Two, but as this is the season finale I will give a recap of what happens in this totally crazy episode.......
1. The Tates prepare to exorcise the demon in the baby.
2. Corinne believes that her promiscuous past caused the possession.
3. Danny confronts Mel, the mobster who murdered Elaine, but gets attacked by Mel's girlfriend, Millie.
4. Billy is not allowed to return home by the Sunnies cult.
5. Jessica confronts the demon possessing Corinne's baby, which retreats screaming.
6. Jessica calls Chester and Donohue together to give her decision about which of the two she will stay with.
7. Burt is abducted by aliens.
So just another ordinary day with the Tate's and the Campbell's.
Season Three returned six months later, so will be uploading that season in due course.
Tremendous fun from the cast, and laughter from the watching studio audience - the show is like nothing on TV now, and pulls no punches.
If you enjoy the spin-off show "Benson", I thoroughly urge you to watch the show where it all started - 45 years later, it still makes me laugh more than any up to date, so called comedy.

Roxy Music - Out Of The Blue - Live - 1975 - USTV - HD
Taken from the 1974 album "Country Life", this is the song "Out Of The Blue", performed on the TV Show "The Midnight Special" in 1975.
They sang three songs on the show - the others were "The Thrill Of It All" and "A Really Good Time".
I think this track was the only one of the three to make it onto a DVD - which is why I suspect that - although sung live on the show - the sound was slightly cleaned up afterwards.
No Brian Eno by this time, but a wonderful replacement on keyboards, synths and Electric Violin was Eddie Jobson.
And of course the late great John Wetton on bass, who unfortunately the cameras seem to have almost missed here.
Anyway, a super line up - probably my favourite of all of the band.
And a brilliant song.
Line up here is:
Bryan Ferry - Vocals
John Wetton - Bass Guitar
Phil Manzanera - Lead Guitar
Paul Thompson - Drums
Eddie Jobson - Keys, Synth, Electric Violin
Andy Mackay - Oboe

Electric Light Orchestra - Roll Over Beethoven - Live - 1974 - Hamburg - HD
A fabulous live early performance of Roll Over Beethoven in 1974 by ELO.
Took place on 4th Oct 1974 at Studio Hamburg in Germany, without an audience, although there is some clapping at the end - I think it was from people working in the studio.
Featured a magical line up, including two members who are no longer with us - Hugh McDowell and Mike Edwards, both celloists here.
Hugh died of cancer in 2018 aged 65, and Mike of a freak road accident in 2010, aged just 62.
Everyone else is still happily among us, and into their 7th decade.
The complete line up here was:
Jeff Lynne - vocals, guitar
Bev Bevan - drums
Richard Tandy - keyboards
Mike de Albuquerque - bass, backing vocals
Mik Kaminski - violin
Hugh McDowell - cello
Mike Edwards - cello
Just a wonderful show, and may feature some more at some stage.

Nightmares & Dreamscapes - Episode Two - Crouch End - TV Mini Series - 2006 - Fantasy/Horror - HD
Second episode is called "Crouch End" - as it based upon that part of London in the original Stephen King story.
In fact the story in the book is one of the very best - I just wish this adaption could live up to it, but unfortunately it falls way short.
I can sort of understand why - some really scary parts of the story would be very difficult to adapt to TV back then - probably not so much now with advances in CGI - but even so, it still is fairly poor - including the lead actors, who are less than convincing.
The area of "Crouch End" is supposed to have "thin spots" - which means areas where other dimensions seep through - sounds a good premise - but comes across as looking a bit weird.
Anyway, this episode is by far the weakest of the series in my opinion, but I didn't want to leave one out.

First up is "Battleground" - a story about an assassin, who is besieged in his apartment by an Army of toy soldiers, after killing their maker.

Being Erica - Season 1 - Episode 9 - Everything She Wants - 2009 - HD
Ninth episode of a new/old favourite show of mine - Being Erica - this episode originally aired in Canada in 2009 on March 4th - and stars Erin Karpluk as Erica Strange and Michael Riley as Dr. Tom.
The show focuses on Erica going back to key moments in her past - and how she can change perception of any regrets.
Some taglines for the show would be - Fantasy, Time Travel, Second Chance and Comedy.
In this episode......
Erica is confused over relationship issues - specifically with Ryan and Ethan - so Dr. Tom sends her back to just before the new millennium to show her what could be behind her issues.
It would seem an unresolved relationship with her friend Cassidy, in which Erica backs off as she is not gay - Cassidy is somewhat heartbroken, and Erica leaves any feelings behind concerning her sexuality, and never sees Cassidy again.
So Erica is determined that this time around she will tell Cassidy that she is straight sooner, and so not risk their friendship.
But this revisit to her past makes her truly confront her feelings for Cassidy, and see how that may impact not only her friendship with Cassidy but also her current situation with both Ryan and Ethan.

Something Is Out There - Episode 4 - Night Of The Visitors - Nov 25th 1988 - Tv Show - HD
Continuing with the 8 episode TV Series - running between Oct 1988 and sometime in 1989.
Kind of vague but the last episode has no exact air date, in fact not even sure if it was ever aired officially, but seems to have had a release on the DVD later in 1993, along with episode 7.
Anyway, it was made after a two part mini series of the same name aired in early 1988, and had the same three lead actors.
In this series....
Jack Breslin was a police detective matched unofficially with a beautiful alien possessing strange powers and abilities named Ta'Ra.
She helped him solve a number of crime cases.
In this episode.......
Ta'Ra reads the popular "non-fiction" release by a famous Sci-Fi Author and is convinced that he really was on board a ship from her solar system.
She convinces Jack they have to find this man as he may be a key to getting her home.
This is easier said than done - as between people dying unnaturally early, and a strange interest from FBI men in Ray Bans - the author seems to be making himself very hard to trace...........
I thought it was quite a good fun series, generally good throughout, with no totally dud episodes, and quality acting, but with some cheesy moments at times.
Maryam also makes a very attractive heroine.
Hope you enjoy.
