Pastor Melissa Scott exposed the truth about The Indwelling Word of Christ Completes Us.
Colossians 3 King James Version
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Colossians 3:14-15 Let the Peace of God Rule in Your Heart - Colossians Ch. 3 #9
The peace of God should be understood as something that is separate and distinct from peace with God. Peace with God has a connection to our salvation. The peace of God is something that comes from Him. He gives is to us as a remedy for fear, to help us stay strong in the midst of crisis. With fear coming at us from every direction, this may be one of the most important messages to help us keep our sanity as well as our faith.

Colossians 3:14 The Love that Tethers Us to God - Colossians Ch. 3 #8
The unconditional agape love that comes from God is not like human love; it is the fruit of the Spirit of God in us, not something we can do in the flesh. This kind of love links us to God, and from it flows patience, kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Colossians 3:12-14 The Biblical Concept of Forgiveness - Colossians Ch. 3 #7
It is difficult to forgive others if we fail to understand how much God has forgiven us. Unwillingness to forgive others drives a wedge between us and God and begins to close off the channel of communication with Him. We must completely let go of the wrongs that were done against us, just as Christ forgave us. If we walk in the Spirit, we will be able to let go and forgive in time.

Colossians 3:12-13 Chosen, Set Apart, and Loved - Colossians Ch. 3 #6
Christ has broken down the barriers of the old dispensation, so now we have to learn to function as a society, in Christ. We are chosen, separated, and loved by God, so we must act like it. Paul tells us to clothe ourselves in the attributes that come from God: compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and longsuffering. Only then can we put up with one another and be a cohesive body of believers in Christ.

Colossians 3:10-11 Being Renewed in the Knowledge of God - Colossians Ch. 3 #5
God is renewing our minds, giving us knowledge of Him that will benefit us in our faith walk. It begins to change our desires, and we recognize the reality of our former state in Adam and our new standing in Christ. In Him, the cultural and social distinctions that were once barriers are broken down. We are all one body in Christ, growing in the knowledge of Him.

Colossians 3:5-9 The Miracle of Christianity: Transformation by Faith - Colossians Ch. 3 #4
The goal for Christians is not to check off boxes on a list of sin you work at fixing. It’s not even trying to be a better person. All of these things are disdainful to God. The goal for Christians is to be transformed into the image and likeness of Christ. And how do you do that? Stop trying! The miracle of Christianity is transformation by faith, not by your efforts in the flesh, but by faith in Jesus Christ!

Colossians 3:6-7 What Brings On the Wrath of God? - Colossians #3
God loves His children, but His wrath is provoked when people, in rebellion, fail to acknowledge Him. There are consequences to sin. We were all children of disobedience, but Christ bore the wrath that was due us, and we are covered when we put our trust in Him. The outpouring of God’s wrath lets us know that our trust is not in vain and His word will stand.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Colossians 3:1-3 Identification with Christ - Colossians Ch. 3 #1
We are dead, buried, and raised up with Christ; these are the steps of regeneration and salvation. In identifying with Christ’s death, we die to self, to the things of the world, and to the law. If we seek the things which are above and set our affections there, we will be focused on Christ and not on the things added onto the church by man.

Colossians 3 King james Version
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Colossians 2:20-21 Let No One Dogmatize You - Colossians Ch. 2 #19
Since we are buried, dead and resurrected with Christ and set free from the law by Him, why would we stand by and let ourselves get dogmatized and be put under regulations by man? There is a long list of traditions that man has added on to the church, but they are not the word of God. Having a relationship with God is not keeping regulations but trusting him and talking to him.

Colossians 2 King James Version
1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Colossians 2:18-19 Let No One Rob You of Your Reward - Colossians Ch. 2 #18
What happened at the church in Colossae is still happening in the church today: adding onto the simplicity of the gospel. All of these add-ons seem to be super spiritual, like the worshiping of angels and marvelous visions, but in reality they’re fake, and all they do is distract. Let no one rob you of your reward which comes by simple faith in Jesus Christ, cultivating a personal relationship with Him in the here and now.

Colossians 2:14, Leviticus 2 The Symbolism of the Meat Offering - Colossians Ch. 2 #11
Looking at the symbolism of the meat offering helps us to understand the “how” of Colossians 2:14: how Christ blotted out the handwriting of ordinances and nailed them to His cross, and how we being in Christ's finished work are no longer under the law but free in Christ, and free to worship Him!

Leviticus 2 King James Version
1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:
2 And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:
3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.
4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.
6 Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.
7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lord: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.
9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.
11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.
12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.
16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

The Burnt Offering and Christ’s Acceptance of Us - The Tabernacle: Christ Revealed in the Old Testament #12
The offerings given in the Tabernacle show us how to relate to God. The burnt offering had to be given voluntarily, perfect, and acceptable unto God. It was wholly consumed and ascended as a sweet savor unto God. Today it is Christ that has accepted us, not the other way around. He gave Himself as a burnt offering and we too are to give ourselves as a living sacrifice, wholly acceptable unto God.

Colossians 2:13 I Am Forgiven - Colossians Ch. 2 #9
Christ has forgiven us all our trespasses, but we have a problem understanding His forgiveness because we have a poor understanding of the severity of our sins, our condition, and our standing with God. We were spiritually dead in our sins, but Christ has made us alive in Him and forgiven us. Even though we will never "feel" forgiven, we are forgiven, period.

Colossians 2:11-13 Authentic Christianity Is Focused on Christ - Colossians Ch. 2 #8
Three verbs, which properly translated in their mood and tense in the Greek, shift our focus back on to Christ. They show us that what God is looking for is faith in Christ, not Jesus plus circumcision, or any other religious ceremony or rite. The simplicity of the gospel is that God wants us to take Him at His word and stay focused on Christ.

Colossians 2:11 Christ Set Us Free - Colossians Ch. 2 #7
No outward sign, like that of circumcision, can fix you if your heart is not close to God. In the Old Testament, circumcision was intended to be a sign of the covenant with God, but even then, God made it clear His focus was on the heart. Christ has already accomplished this act of circumcision in the inner man of the Christian, freeing us and conforming us to His covenant perfectly, as only He can. Why would we need to add to what He has done in us? Christ set us free.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Colossians 2:9-15 Christ Is the Epicenter of Our Faith - Colossians Ch. 2 #6
It’s time for the church of Jesus Christ to reform itself because we, like the Colossians, have been led astray by all the add-ons. It’s time for us to get back to the epicenter of our faith: all that we need is in Christ. Every part, every nature, every dimension of the deity dwells in Him, so how could we ever think of adding anything else?

Colossians 2:8 Why I Am Who I Am in Christ - Colossians Ch. 2 #4
We cannot understand the problems of where we are without looking to history. Church history is full of examples of the traditions of men being substituted in place of the word of God and the message of salvation by faith in Christ. The Protestant Reformation sought to bring people back to the pure source of the word, but even the Protestant Church has its add-ons. Study the word and focus on your personal relationship with God. He will transform your life.

Colossians 2:6 Under New Management - Colossians Ch. 2 #3
Colossians 2:6 is the perfect text to show us that the modern day evangelist’s altar call, inviting us to “receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior” is actually quite blasphemous! Treating this passage correctly, the difference is in the details. To “receive” is not to receive the individual, the Son of God, but rather to receive the message, the good news of Jesus Christ: that new management has come to help us start walking, keep walking, and stay connected by faith as we are on the path to spiritual maturity.

Colossians 2:8 Traditions Make Void the Word of God - Colossians Ch. 2 #5
The church, both Catholic and Protestant has grafted on traditions to the faith that are not Biblical. We are to follow after Christ, not the traditions of men that distract from the pure faith.

Colossians 2:4-5 Stay in the Word, Lest Any Man Beguile You - Colossians Ch. 2 #2
The deception of those that would twist the word of God with enticing words was a problem in the early church and still continues today. It is very easy to be beguiled by false teaching that sounds reasonable and persuasive. The safeguard is to stay connected to Christ through the Word and remain steadfast in your faith.

Colossians 2:1-3 Christian Unity: Knit Together in God’s Love - Colossians Ch.2 #1
The body of Christ is supposed to be knit together in love, not ripped apart. Without being knit together in Christ’s love, the church cannot survive. Paul addressed the Colossians with pastoral concern, reminding them to focus back on Christ and to be knit together in the agape love of God. When the problems come, this love of God through Christ should be our common bond. Christ is the unifying force.

Colossians 1:24-29 The Mystery of Salvation in Christ - Colossians #22
The word “mystery”, if we understand its Biblical use and more specifically its use by the apostle Paul in the book of Colossians, is not something cryptic that we can’t know or understand; it’s revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ: the mind-boggling thing that we can be saved by something that happened over 2,000 years ago!

Pastor Melissa Scott exposed the truth about The Mystery of Salvation in Christ.
Colossians 1 King James Version
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Colossians 1:23-25 Paul: Made a Minister by God - Colossians #21
There is only one ministry in the church, and that is being a servant of God. God is the one who makes men and women into ministers; we do not choose it ourselves, and we are not to judge His choice. Paul suffered afflictions for his association with Christ and the preaching of the Word, but he rejoiced. Suffering is part of the process of being made into a man or woman of God.

Colossians 1:3-29 King James Version
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

Colossians 1:20 God Reconciled All Things to Himself - Colossians #19
Just as God created all things, He has reconciled all things to Himself. That doesn’t mean that all will be saved, but rather that Christ’s sacrifice at the cross made peace, making it possible for us to become friends of God instead of enemies. From that moment on, a change began to occur in those who hear and respond. This change is not merely a disposition of an individual, nor their legal relationship to God, but a total state of his or her life!

Colossians 1:1-28 King James Version
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
