Here's a preview of what's coming for 2023 ! New project !! : Stephenson So as you may have heard from my last few Kondensator singles I was going more towards Dubstep & EDM, so that is in part how this new project should sound, I will be making EDM in my style, and also I don't want to put too much limitations on myself, I'll be using whatever I want and picking influences from any genre I feel like doing. So that is my new bootleg remix : I Want Your Sex by George Michael ! I've used a few parts of the vocal only, the original track is quite long, so I just improvised with the few parts I've decided to keep and made a 4 minute track with it. I didn't care much about syncing to the original beat, I tried to make it sound good, the vocals had a bunch of artifacts after being split from the track, I did the best I could to clean them up ! I'm happy with the track, hope you will be enjoying this one ! Finally a new album, I had been making EPs & singles more than anything for the past 2 years, I was experimenting with different things, I definitely was exploring different ways to make music and the different ways to process my experimental guitar sounds. For this album I've composed every track in their own key, so I had used a guitar tuning that would match the key the song would be in, and then I would compose the midi tracks for the virtual synths (mostly Kontakt) in the key of the song. I've used a lot of different tunings and a lot of different pedalboard setups with the Superego and an effect chains of around 20 pedals. I've grown my microphone setup over the months, especially during the Holidays, I did a lot of recordings in January with the confinement again it gave me the opportunity to finish the other half of the album basically in that period. The inspirations for this album comes from many Cyberpunk/Dystopian movies/games and I add some elements of my personal life and create my own Dystopian fiction(is it really fiction though?). I decided to turn this in a concept album with 2 themes for each sides of the cassette tape, as I've designed this album specifically for the cassette tape release. Side A is filled with melancholic ambient soundscapes, lush synthesizer pads and very mysterious drones & atmospheres. Side B is mostly focused around beat oriented songs paired with the Experimental Guitar soundscapes, using a few different genres for the Drums going from Hardwave / Witch House to Industrial Sounds and up to slowed down Dubstep. I have worked for 5 months on this album and during that time I've perfected the mixing process especially for my Experimental Guitar sounds, I found which plugins sound best and give a fatter sound to my soundscapes. I have used the Modular Synthesizer quite a lot also throughout the album, not only to process the guitar into but also to use the oscillators to create some really cool stereo sound effects to add ambience to the songs. Soon on https://kondensator.bandcamp.com/ Here's a new song, which has been made in a totally different way than any other song I've made so far, I was working on my School project for Live Performance, as I will be using some of Max for Live sequencers with my outboard gear(Modular Synthesizer) , I was playing around with the sequencers and using also this new Quadra Synth from Cherry Audio, which has been used for most of the Synth tracks on this song. So I've made this song mostly using those Max for Live sequencers, the rest I've been using samples, mostly for the Bass , Drums & effects. I was making this song having in mind that I would make it for my upcoming Space Exploration Compilation and had named one of the parts "Astro Cat Arp", for some reason and when it was time to name the song I just felt "Astro Cat" was going to be the name. Unfortunately I just had a relationship that went sour, I guess I had high hopes of turning my life around, but I couldn't live up to the other person's expectations. It's hard to get out of the downwards spiral of feeling miserable and I just thought I was getting out of it but then when you're told everything is perfect everyday and I just kept on going, until the day for some reason, nothing is perfect anymore. What I am telling myself is, "I should have known better from my intuition", I know I am far from perfect, I cannot believe anyone who tries to convince me of the opposite. Because in the end I wasn't perfect and things didn't work out anymore, our emotions vanished into the void. In fact I had started this song back in December but with the lack of time because of work and trying to make a dysfunctional relationship work, I only had pretty much the main parts of the Chorus figured out, took over a month to come back to this project and complete this composition! It's my first song in a while which I've composed from start to finish (no samples except the ones for the Drum Rack) again I am blending House elements with Synthwave. But I had a sudden flow of inspiration and wanted to go towards an Industrial vibe with slower beats and a big focus on the Guitars. Basically this project is all made in the box , there is no "guitar" involved in the making of this. With the Wedge Force Matcha plugin I was happy to be able to make very convincing guitar sounds totally in the box and when they've released Keemun a few months ago, I was stoked because now I can do the Bass Guitar tracks to fit with my guitars. So this is the style and direction I think I'll keep with this project ! I think the beginning of 2022 is definitely a good moment to start thinking about my few projects I've not been putting much attention into. I think with the lockdown again and having a lot more free time, with the new year and everything it is definitely a good moment to set the pace and having the musical direction of each projects figured out for the future! It's been 4 months since the last release of this project , I had started working on something but nothing felt right, so I just put this project aside and the free time I had to work on music became scarce up until now with the lockdown again, as I've predicted. Decided to use a blend of Vaporwave and Lo Fi Hip Hop , while still using dark atmospheric samples. I am still working on finding my style and found some Hardwave stuff, I was trying to find a way to blend some Hard House with Dark Trap, it just so happen what I was trying to do already existed. I've made this really long instrumental track and I was feeling really great about this, hope you will feel the same way. Here's my fourth bootleg remix , this is actually a project I did for School , so all of my remixes up until this one were practice remixes or just for fun basically. This project was much more difficult than how I first thought it would go, I'm very pleased with the end result, worked for at least a month and a half on this.
