New Hawaiian Monk Seal Pup discovered on March 20th, 2021. Video filmed on 3/24/31 and mother identified as Pua w/ tag #RF34. It is believed to be the 1st pup born on Oahu in 2021. "Punahele" which means "favorite" or "beloved one." Puna in Hawaii is also freshwater "spring" and ironically the pup was possibly born overnight on the Spring Equinox.
