Fruit of the Spirit & Spiritual Gifts (Episode 4: PEACE)
Principle and Definition:
Peace from the biblical perspective refers to a state of harmony and tranquility that comes from knowing and following God's will. It is a state of inner calmness that transcends any external circumstances or conflicts. The Bible teaches that peace is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and that it is a gift that comes from God (John 14:27). Peace is not something that we can achieve on our own, but rather it is a result of our relationship with God.
Application:
As Christians, we are called to pursue peace with all people (Romans 12:18) and to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). This means that we should strive to live in harmony with others, even when we disagree with them. We should seek to resolve conflicts in a peaceful and respectful manner, without resorting to violence or aggression. We should also be willing to forgive others and to seek forgiveness when we have wronged someone else.
How to Get Relative Peace
One practical application of biblical peace is to cultivate a daily habit of prayer and meditation on God's Word. As we spend time in prayer and reflection, we can experience a deeper sense of peace and contentment that comes from knowing that God is in control of our lives. We can also ask God to help us overcome any feelings of anxiety or fear that we may be experiencing, and to guide us in making wise decisions that promote peace and harmony.

Lesson 5: The Good News of the Judgment
Memory Text: "Saying with a loud voice, 'Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea, and springs of water.'" (Revelation 14:7, NKJV).
If the Bible was ever clear about anything, it’s clear that God is a God of judgment, and that sooner or later, in one way or another, judgment—the judgment so lacking here and now—is going to come and be administered by God Himself, “the Judge of all the earth” (Gen. 18:25; Ps. 58:11, Ps. 94:2, Ps. 98:9). Or, as Paul himself had written: “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Rom. 14:12).
It's a scary thought, isn’t it? Having to give an account of ourselves before God, the God who knows the deepest things, the God who will “bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil” (Eccles. 12:14, NKJV)?
This week we explored the deeper themes of the judgment in relation to the great controversy raging in the universe, and we will look especially at what happens when God’s faithful people themselves face the inevitable “judgment to come” (Acts 24:25).
Host Take
The law of Jehovah is the tree; the gospel is the fragrant blossoms and fruit which it bears.—Selected Messages, book 1, p. 211.
Sin is sin, whether committed by one sitting on a throne, or by one in the humbler walks of life. The day is coming when all who have committed sin will make confession, even though it is too late for them to receive pardon. God waits long for the sinner to repent. —Ellen G. White Comments in, 3SDABC, p. 1147.
[The] sword of the Spirit, the Word of the living God...Life, health, friends, reason, happiness, are ours through the merit of Christ. —Sons and Daughters of God, p. 238.
The character we cultivate, the attitude we assume today, is fixing our future destiny. We are all making a choice, either to be with the blessed, inside they City of Light, or to be with the wicked, outside the city. The principles which govern our actions on earth are known in heaven, and our deeds are faithfully chronicled in the books of record....The Lord says, “A new heart will I give unto thee.” The image of Christ is to be stamped upon the very mind, and heart, and soul. The apostle says, “And we have the mind of Christ.” —Reflecting Christ, p. 303.
It is the mingling of judgment and mercy that makes salvation full and complete. It is the blending of the two that leads us, as we view the world’s Redeemer and the law of Jehovah, to exclaim, “Thy gentleness hath made me great” (2 Samuel 22:36). We know that the gospel is a perfect and complete system, revealing the immutability of the law of God. Mercy invites us to enter through the gates into the city of God, and justice is sacrificed to accord to every obedient soul full of privileges as a member of the royal family, a child of the heavenly King. By faith let us look upon the rainbow round about the throne, the cloud of sins confessed behind it. The rainbow of promise is an assurance to every humble, contrite, believing soul, that his life is one with Christ, and that Christ is one with God.—God’s Amazing Grace, p. 70.
Are our people reviewing the past and the present and the future, as it is unfolding before the world? Are they heeding the messages of warning given to them? Is it our greatest concern today that our lives shall be refined and purified, and that we shall reflect the similitude of the divine? They must be arrayed in the righteousness of Christ. His name must be written on their foreheads...Christ has engraved the names of His people on the palms of His hands. He will never lose His interest in any dependent soul.—Selected Messages, book 1, p. 56.

Lesson 4: "Fear God and Give Glory to Him"
Memory Text: "Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12, NKJV).
Danish author Søren Kierkegaard told a parable about the end time. It went something like this: A fire broke out backstage in a big theater. A clown, who had been part of the performance, came out to warn the audience: "Get out; the place is on fire!" The audience thought it was just a big joke, part of the show, that's all and just applauded. He repeated the warning: "Get out! Get out!" But the more emphatically he warned them, the greater the applause. For Kierkegaard, that is how the world is going to end; that is, to the general applause of wits who believe it's a joke
The end of the world, and the events leading up to it, are, as we know, no joke. The world faces the most serious crisis since the Flood. In fact, Peter himself uses the story of the Flood as a symbol of the end, warning that just as the world of old perished by water, in the end times, "the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up" (2 Peter 3:10, NKJV). Having been warned about what is coming, we now need to be prepared for it, as well.
The world is a stage or theater where we, as artists, come to play and leave when our time is out. But is this statement true? Aren't we accountable to anyone? Are people not joking, mocking, and scoffing at God and the second coming of Jesus Christ? Aren't we witnessing the institutionalization of climate religion, growing gender war, increased cyber attacks, infodemics, religious extremism, Christian nationalism, and unholy street carnivals?
Take of Program Host
Our work now is to enlighten the world, in the place of bearing a peace-and-safety message. A banner has been placed in our hands, upon which is inscribed, "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." This is a distinct, separating message,—a message that is to give no uncertain sound. It is to lead the people away from the broken cisterns that contain no water, to the fountain of living waters.—Letter 60, 1898.
Is there not enough taking place about us to show us the dangers that beset our path? Everywhere are seen wrecks of humanity, neglected family altars, broken-up families. There is a strange abandonment of principle, a lowering of the standard of morality; the sins are fast increasing which caused the judgments of God to be poured upon the earth in the Flood and in the destruction of Sodom by fire.—5T, p 601.
To give glory to God is to reveal His character in our own, and thus make Him known. And in whatever way we make known the Father or the Son, we glorify God.—7SDABC, p. 979.
Man is God's workmanship, His masterpiece, created for a high and holy purpose; and on every part of the human tabernacle, God desires to write His law. Every nerve and muscle, every mental and physical endowment, is to be kept pure. God designs that the body shall be a temple for His Spirit... God calls for a living sacrifice. Be brave, and overcome every practice which mars the soul temple. A sacred duty to live up to the light which God has graciously given.—Reflecting Christ, p. 165; 2T, p. 70.
Christ crucified for our sins; Christ risen from the dead; Christ ascended on high as our intercessor—this is the science of salvation that we need to learn and teach. This is to be the burden of our work.—[CT, pp. 22, 23].

Fruit of The Spirit & Spiritual Gifts (Episode 3: JOY)
Joy is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith, as it is one of the fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. It is a deep and abiding sense of gladness that comes from knowing God and experiencing His Love, mercy, and grace. Joy is not based on external circumstances but on our relationship with Christ, which is why the apostle Paul could write from prison, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice" (Philippians 4:4).
Joy cannot be manufactured or pursued through worldly means but is a gift from God that flows out of a heart that is surrendered to Him. The Bible also says in Psalm 16:11, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
The Bible teaches that joy is closely connected to faith and hope. In Romans 15:13, Paul writes, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." This verse reminds us that joy is not merely an emotion but a state of being that is rooted in our trust in God's promises. As we place our faith in Christ, we are filled with a deep sense of joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Furthermore, our hope in Christ gives us the assurance that no matter what trials we face on this earth, we have a sure and certain future in heaven to be joyous even now. This hope gives us a reason to rejoice even in the midst of suffering in our cosmos (John 16:33).
Ten Whys to be joyous

5. Tears/suffering [Psalms 126:5]
6. Fruits of our labors [Ecclesiastes 2:24; 7:14]
7. Repented sinner [Luke 15:7]
8. Words of Jesus/Truth [John 15:11; 16:20, 1 John 1:4; 3 John 1:4]

Lesson 3: The Everlasting Gospel
Memory Text: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6, NKJV).
In ancient Israel, when the heathen around them were polytheists, worshiping multiple “gods” of wood and stone, Israel’s clear, identifiable, powerful statement of faith was found in Deuteronomy 6:4: - “Hear O Israel:
The Lord our God, the Lord is one” (NKJV).
Throughout the centuries, the chanting of the Shema (the name of the prayer, based on the Hebrew word for “hear”) reminded the Jews of the spiritual vision that united them as a people and that strengthened their resolve to maintain their unique identity as worshipers of the one true God.
For Seventh-day Adventists, the three angels’ messages in Revelation 14 are our Shema. They are our identifying statement of faith. They define who we are as a people and describe our mission to the world. In short, our unique prophetic identity is outlined in Revelation 14:6–12, and it is here that we find our passion to proclaim the gospel to the world.
We will now begin a detailed study of Revelation 14:6–12, but we will do so through the eyes of grace as we listen to God speaking to our hearts.

Lesson 2: A Moment of Destiny
Memory Text: "Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, 'Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe'" (Revelation 14:14, 15, NKJV).
God has always spoken to His people, giving them whatever relevant truths they needed to hear at the time. From the warning about the Flood (Gen. 6:7) to the first coming of Jesus (Dan. 9:24–27) to the pre-Advent judgment (Dan. 7:9, 10; Dan. 8:14) to final events before Christ's return (Revelation 12–14), God has spoken to us. In these last days of human history, He has sent a special message to the world and to His people, designed to meet the need of the hour. He pictures this message as being carried by three angels flying in midheaven with their urgent, end-time message to all the world.
The three angels' messages are Jesus' final message of mercy, a call that leads us from trusting in our own righteousness to trusting the righteousness of Jesus to justify us; to sanctify us; and, at the end of time, to glorify us.
As always, though, we must choose Christ, to surrender to Him, and to obey Him, and the choices we make now will, indeed, impact the choices we make in the final crisis ahead of us. Thus, now is the time to prepare.

Fruit of The Spirit & Spiritual Gifts (Episode 2: LOVE)
LOVE ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍 is the most abused word in the world. This four-letter word has been portrayed in movies, novels, politics, international organizations, synagogues/temples, arts and culture, and families. Fully-fledged Love is an amazing word. Love types Eros (passionate Love), Storge (familial Love), Ludus (playful Love), Mania (obsessive Love), Philia (deep friendship), Philautia (self-love), Pragma (Enduring Love), are inferior to Agape (universal/unconditional Love). Who is the epitome, architect, and source of Love? Many (kings, subjects, rich, poor, big, small, young, aged) have been conquered, ruled, and reigned by it. Others have triumphed through it. It seems to permeate all spheres of life. Charity is chastity! However, "the law of love is the foundation of the government of God." [Patriarchs & Prophets, pp. 34, 35]. Love is a gift from God.
Unfortunately, the social media, families, churches, governments, and entertainment industries, including sports personalities, movie makers, musicians, and influencers, misrepresent Love and have failed to perfect it. Love is a principle not unreasonable. Is Love wicked, blind, unreasonable, or selfish? What is the biblical view of Love? Movie love…social media love, flirtation…Remember, Love is an action word. It is a verb. True Love is not infatuation, feeling, or passion but selflessness. It is not the perverted valentine or about romance – the hugging and kissing. Feelings rule infatuation, but true Love is ruled by principle. Pure Love is devoid of lust, it is not 99.999%, but it commits 100%. It doesn't build anti-love walls/barriers based on past experiences. Reciprocative Love is not Love either. Remember, "Love is a plant of heavenly growth and it must be fostered and nourished."
God (The Greek term theophilia means the Love or favor of God, and theophilos means friend of God) is the utopian, epitome, and embodiment of Love; Love is not subliminal, abusive, pedophilic, or coercive. John puts it simply, "God Is Love" 1 John 4:8. It won't discontinue after the ultimate and blessed hope (Titus 2:13; Jeremiah 17:7; 1Pet 1:3) is realized, unlike prophecies, tongues, hope, faith, and knowledge (1 Cor 13:1-13). Love will continue from eternity to eternity...money can't buy it. Although Love is likened to precious rubies, priests, prelates, laity, and average Joe have trodden it underfoot. Love is not always at first sight. [John 3:16; Galatians 5:22; 1 John 2:5; 4:12; 4:17; 4:18; 2 Corinthians 13:11; John 13:34-35; 15:12;17].

Lesson 1: Jesus Wins—Satan Loses
On October 15, 1844, one week before the Great Disappointment, a boy had been born into a pious Lutheran family in Germany. His name was Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, who would become one of modernity’s most influential atheists. Believing that the Christian God was dying in the West, Nietzsche railed against the Christian religion’s continued moral influence, deriding it as a “slave morality,” the morality of the weak who, in an attempt to protect themselves from the stronger, concocted such silly notions as “Love your enemies.” For Nietzsche, modernity needed to get beyond antiquated notions of “good and evil”; a character in one of his books (Thus Spoke Zarathustra) declared, “Break . . . the old tablets!” (meaning, of course, the Ten Commandments).
The year 1844 was also important for Karl Marx, the founder of Communism. Called the “Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844,” this work had been written by Marx that year, even if not published until 1932 by the Soviet Union. The manuscripts show the early development of Marx’s ideology in which he argued for a totally materialistic reality that moved through various economic stages until the workers of the world would unite, overthrow their capitalist oppressors, and create a utopia on earth.
The year 1844 had been an important one for Charles Darwin, too. In what has become known as the “Essay of 1844,” Darwin produced one of the earliest expressions of his evolutionary theory, even if it was not then made public. Only in 1859, with the publication of On the Origin of Species, did Darwin publicly promulgate his view that all life on earth originated from a common ancestor by natural and chance processes alone.
The year 1844 was, however, the fulfillment of the 2,300-day prophecy of Daniel 8:14, and the same year that, out of the leftovers of the Great Disappointment, seeds were planted that would burgeon into a worldwide movement whose core message repudiated the guts of Marxist, Nietzschean, and Darwinian ideology.
Contra Marx, the Seventh-day Adventist movement proclaimed that the great controversy between Christ and Satan, not a materialistic flow of history, explained world history that would end, not in a human–made Communist utopia but in the supernatural establishment of God’s eternal kingdom.
Contra Darwin, the Seventh-day Adventist movement taught that life originated, not in the natural and chance process of random mutation and natural selection but by the power of the Creator God, who in six days created life on earth and rested on the seventh.
And contra Nietzsche, the Seventh-day Adventist movement proclaimed not only that God exists but that His universal code of morality (the “old tablets”), the Ten Commandments, remains God’s ultimate standard of judgment and binding on all humanity. A coincidence that all these events happened in 1844? One should not think so. Marx, Nietzsche, and Darwin are three influential figures whose work has caused humanity irreparable harm. But amid all these errors, God did not leave the world without a witness to His truth, which is why, amid these destructive ideologies, He raised up a movement that would, over time, morph into the Seventh-day Adventist Church and that would proclaim His last-day truth to the world—the three angels’ messages. These are messages that, at their core, refute the errors and misconceptions promoted by those three terribly deceived men.
The three angels’ messages are, in a sense, the marching orders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. And at their core, they are the gospel, pure and simple, but the gospel presented in the context of “present truth” (2 Pet. 1:12, NKJV). And this, the three angels’ messages, is our study for the quarter.
