According to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, the EPA has assisted with the screening of more than 480 homes under the voluntary screening program offered to residents, with no vinyl chloride or hydrogen chloride detected. Kristen Welker on Meet the Press said President Joe Biden confronts a dissatisfied electorate and a challenging political climate nine months before he faces re-election, according to a new national NBC News poll. Biden trails GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on major policy and personal comparisons, including by more than 20 points on which candidate would better handle the economy. And Biden’s deficit versus Trump on handling immigration and the border is greater than 30 points. The poll also shows Trump holding a 16-point advantage over Biden on being competent and effective, a reversal from 2020, when Biden was ahead of Trump on this quality by 9 points before defeating him in that election. Lastly, Biden’s approval rating has declined to the lowest level of his presidency in NBC News polling — to 37%!

Democratic lawmaker Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri is under investigation by the Department of Justice for her campaign's spending on security services, she confirmed in a statement Tuesday. Bush said she used campaign funds to hire protective services in the face of "relentless threats" since becoming a member of Congress. She also said she hired her husband as part of her security team, using campaign funds as security is not provided by the House. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), said that most members don't get security. He also pointed to her support in the past for "defund the police" as being contradictory to her having a security detail.
