Joe Biden on Monday congratulated hospitality workers for reaching a tentative agreement with several Las Vegas hotel-casinos and calling off a strike deadline for another, telling members of the local culinary union, “When you do well, everybody does better.” “I came to say thank you — not just thank you for the support you’ve given me the last time out and this time, but thank you for having the faith in the union,” Biden, who is running for reelection in November to a second term, told Local 226 Culinary hospitality workers who gathered at Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas. “Thank you for continuing to push it because this really matters. According to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, the EPA has assisted with the screening of more than 480 homes under the voluntary screening program offered to residents, with no vinyl chloride or hydrogen chloride detected. But Regan also said he understands why some residents are questioning the information they're being provided, still calling on East Palestinians to trust the EPA and reach out to get their home tested if they have any concerns. Kristen Welker on Meet the Press said President Joe Biden confronts a dissatisfied electorate and a challenging political climate nine months before he faces re-election, according to a new national NBC News poll. Biden trails GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on major policy and personal comparisons, including by more than 20 points on which candidate would better handle the economy. And Biden’s deficit versus Trump on handling immigration and the border is greater than 30 points. The poll also shows Trump holding a 16-point advantage over Biden on being competent and effective, a reversal from 2020, when Biden was ahead of Trump on this quality by 9 points before defeating him in that election. Lastly, Biden’s approval rating has declined to the lowest level of his presidency in NBC News polling — to 37%!

Democratic lawmaker Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri is under investigation by the Department of Justice for her campaign's spending on security services, she confirmed in a statement Tuesday. Bush said she used campaign funds to hire protective services in the face of "relentless threats" since becoming a member of Congress. She also said she hired her husband as part of her security team, using campaign funds as security is not provided by the House. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), said that most members don't get security. He also pointed to her support in the past for "defund the police" as being contradictory to her having a security detail.
