The Chosen: Why Many are Called but Few are Chosen. The Chosen is a series that tries to humanize Christ and his Apostles and followers through the stories of the New Testament. The title of the series fits perfectly with the character and arc of Nicodemus in the first season. I hope that if I lived in Christ’s day, that I would have accepted his invitation, regardless of the cost. But the only way to know if I would is to follow Christ’s teachings, commandments, and invitations in my everyday life. That is why studying and pondering on Christ’s words are so important, as that is one of the surest ways to recognize Christ’s invitations, as well as have the faith needed to act. I present and recommend this show for this precise reason, as it has deepened my appreciation for and understanding of Christ and His teachings. How everyone became an activist in 2020. I have seen many jokes about how crazy the year 2020 was and some would point to the pandemic as the cause of things tanking, but I think that the pandemic was just a catalyst rather than the cause. At the start of the pandemic many people refocused on the importance of community and the well-being of their neighbors, but all it took was that spark and the resulting explosion of activism and ideology made existing divides wider and more apparent than ever. And people are still trying to make sense of it all, including me. Having kids is about joy, which I feel is obvious, but apparently I still needed to make a response to Vox. The original video tries to say that having kids makes you less happy, and then focuses on connecting a ‘successful life’ with financial success. Both of these things seemed to be deceptively framed, but even the Vox host realizes that having kids is all about that connection, that relationship, and joy. To quote CS Lewis: “The homemaker has the ultimate career. Covid in perspective: It has been almost a year and a half since Covid reared its head in the US. Projecting racism everywhere is what Systemic Racism and Critical Race Theory (CRT) does best. Racism is always a tragedy, but not all tragedies are racist. Unfortunately Systemic Racism seems to assume that every tragedy or discrepancy is due to racism, and that includes the video of George Floyd and any sort of different outcomes for different races. This bugs me, so I decided to make this video specifically pointing out that there is no evidence that Floyd's death occurred was because of his race. And assigning racism to a tragedy because of the color of people’s skin is racist and wrong. You are more likely to die from communism. In this video I show proof that communism is worse by calculating the death per capita rate of capitalism and communism in the 20th century (because who doesn’t love analyzing 20th century death counts?). Now I don’t think the original claim of capitalism’s death count is fair, but even if someone makes the claim that ‘capitalism has killed 100 million people’, that still puts it at half the death rate per capita of communism - you are less likely to die from capitalism. Communism simply has killed at least twice as many people per capita compared to capitalism. How God Reveals Himself to us Personally: revelation is the religious term we use to describe God making Himself known unto man, be it to an individual (personal revelation) or to a larger group (prophetic revelation). Critical Race Theory: why you should be concerned. Critical Race Theory (CRT) is not diversity training, but some diversity trainings are now using CRT to see the world first and foremost by race. So I wanted to make a video covering Critical Race Theory explained, and what to know about Critical Race Theory. When it comes down to words and their definitions, I have heard many people use words associated with Critical Race Theory, such as systemic racism, anti-racism, or white fragility. I think there are many issues in this world, including racism, and I think there is much that can and should be done to help our brothers and sisters. I don’t think that Critical Race Theory or any of the related concepts discussed here are the answer to ending racism, in fact I think most of them sound nice but actively make the problem worse. I’m finally doing a video on climate change by the data. There’s so much climate change confusion that I wanted to do this video on climate change explained simply. I cover temperature and CO2, scientific consensus, climate vs weather, and finally what we can do about it moving forward. And so you know my bias going in, I’m an American conservative. If we are going to have meaningful discussions on such a broad topic, all of these things and more need to be taken into account. I think we have a responsibility to take care of the planet we have and I think many people are doing a great job, the question is how do we go about fulfilling that responsibility further, and what are the tradeoffs for each solution? Since the US election in November, I have heard a lot of talk on the subject of ‘unity and healing’. This message in large part has been coming from Joe Biden, so I wanted to cover how to call for unity in this episode of divisive definitions. I look at different takes on unity from people like Pod Save America, Viva Frei, and Thor Skywalker. I hope that terms like unity will be used in good faith and not used as a political club to get the ‘other side’ to conform to what you think should happen. Unity is worthwhile but takes hard work from everyone.
