This is the curious case with Attack on Titan, or should I say not-so-curious case because there is a brilliant strategy that Hajime Isayama used to propel his series to unparalleled levels of success. This brilliant strategy gives the user the ability to turn the most mundane parts of a story and make it as addictive as a high-paced action scene. This brilliant strategy gives the user the ability to keep the audience perpetually on the edge of their seats. This brilliant strategy is called SLOW PACING. Slow pacing is often overlooked because as a writer you're always told that your story needs conflict and needs tension - So when it comes to slow pacing you think: “Why bother?” But even though slow pacing may not have the flashy action sequences, it can still exude a level of intrigue and tension that can even surpass high-paced scenes.
