The Williams Elementary-Middle school in Williams, Arizona held an assembly in honor of the Veterans for Veterans Day. The3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes performed several songs for the Veterans.

Just as last year, the Monsoons waited until August to hit Williams, Arizona. They struck with a vengeance. We received a short burst of rain and hail at about 2:20 p.m. The Sun came out and with previous rains, that was the end of it. Today, however, thunder started about 3:30p.m. Rain started in earnest at about 3:55 p.m. At 4:05, Williams was pelted with pea-sized hail that lasted for about twenty-minutes. Rain continued until about 5:30 p.m. dropping 1.9", according to our rain gauge.

The Veterans of Run For The Wall continued on their ten-day trek to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington expecting to arrive on Memorial Day. Because of the ages of Vietnam Era Veterans, many younger veterans have taken up the cause. Learn more at https://rftw.us/

The motorcycle riders of Run For The Wall arrived at their traditional first stop in Williams, Arizona. They began arriving at about 5:01 p.m. with the bulk of the group coming in about 20-minutes later. This group, started by Vietnam Veterans, was meant to bring healing to the veterans and awareness of those still missing in action. Learn more at https://rftw.us/

While not in monsoon season, Williams got a taste of it starting at 7 p.m. on May 17. Williams received a quick but boisterous storm that brought about a half-inch of precipitation. More is expected throughout the weekend.
