We landed in the blast freezer.

I make no claims to be a chef or professional cook by any means. I would be an epic failure at cooking school. BUT....this pizza came out pretty good.

Roof rakes are awesome. I wanted to get the camp roof cleaned off before another foot of snow potentially fell on it.

On the 25th anniversary of it, we had a small ice storm. It was nothing to write home about, we didn't get the 30+ MPH winds or .6+ of ice as predicted, but we still got ice and several inches of sleet accumulation on top of it. We got lucky this time. The sleet was a pain, but it doesn't stick to things like the ice does.

I decided to build a 6 meter antenna because I want to try using a repeater in Massachusetts that's roughly 270 miles away and is kind of a water shot across the Gulf of Maine. I'm told the repeater has a high elevation, so why not give it a try? There are other repeaters I want to try out too. Ham radio is about having fun and trying new things.

I figure this might be easier than typing.

I switched out an old CB with a new one.

This repeater was horrible today. It used to be pretty decent until some huge power lines were installed in the area. This was real bad today, I was wondering if I had an antenna problem. It's only 35.5 miles to the repeater, it should sound a lot better than this. Something is definitely messing with it. Repeaters that are further away sound better.

I adapted a large spool of thread to work on a sewing machine that doesn't accommodate it.

I noticed that my 2 way radio wasn't transmitting or receiving well. It was a simple solution. A screwed up antenna will raise havoc.

Nobody is perfect, sometimes there is more than one way to do something and not every product out there is created equal. Just because one type/brand of inverter can't be mounted upside down, it doesn't mean that another type/brand can't.

After having this, you never want store stuff again.

I have been using the 5700 mobile and 5200 portable for about a year now. I am liking them both. I am going to do up another video discussing the both of them. If you live in a world where you need to use two digital modes, Kenwood is the way to go. In my world I need to use analog, DMR and P25. Motorola doesn't cut the mustard. Using Motorola would require buying two radios, at much higher costs, whereas Kenwood is smart and designed a radio that does it all in one package at a much lower cost.

Every day I've been hunting I've had an opportunity to get a doe.....can't do that though. Although they're everywhere I couldn't get a blessing from the state. Finally a buck turned up today. Some people hunt for "sport", looking for big antlers and those "trophies". People like me couldn't care less. Hunting isn't a sport and we aren't sportsmen. It's about putting FOOD in the freezer to feed our families. With the way food prices are, all of this meat cost a little bit of time and a grand total of $5.00 and a rifle cartridge. You can't get this many pounds of meat in the store...much less this good of quality for 5 bucks. One pound of hamburger costs that much the last I knew. I butchered it myself. I hear the going rate is $175 for a butcher now.
