In this 36-minute video, Barbara Loe Fisher, co-founder and president of the non-profit National Vaccine Information Center questions why mandatory vaccination has been made the centerpiece of preventive public health programs for two centuries and calls for basic science research into the complications of both infectious diseases and vaccination, including studies comparing the health of vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. A leading vaccine safety and informed consent advocate since 1982, she reviews the history of the first vaccine for smallpox and the influence of narratives created by governments and the World Health Organization about the need for universal, mandated use of COVID-19 vaccines. She calls for reform of government health agencies that develop, license and promote vaccines and an end to “one-size-fits-all vaccination laws,” arguing that vaccine products should be subject to the law of supply and demand and that manufacturers and doctors should be held liable for vaccine injuries and deaths. NVIC's statement by executive director Theresa Wrangham in Atlanta during a rally on the 23rd anniversary of a secret meeting held by the CDC to discuss findings of a study on adverse events related to mercury-containing vaccines using the CDC's the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) database. The statement notes that Simpsonwood was not the first time vaccine risk information was withheld from the public and called attention to the historical context of earlier vaccine risk deception and the vaccine landscape that existed when NVIC's co-founders worked with Congress to draft and pass the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. The statement also contains a call for Congress to restore vaccine manufacturer and vacinnator liability, as originally contained in the Act prior to Congressional amendments after the Act's passage.
