Kelly Girtz, the mayor of Athens-Clarke County where 22-year-old Laken Riley was brutally murdered by an illegal alien, is an anti-American disgrace who deserves to be impeached. He (along with the county commission) approved a 2019 resolution expressing support of undocumented, immigrant and Latino residents. In part, the resolution states the local government is “… welcoming to people from all lands and backgrounds and strives to foster a community where individuals of all statuses feel safe, are able to prosper, and can breathe free … .” He has the nerve to hide behind the fact that “there was no legislation” and sanctuary city means different things to different people. Then why sign the resolution? What do you expect to happen when you make it known you’re welcoming of criminals? Then he has the nerve to blame TRUMP for Riley’s alleged attempted rape and her murder. Naturally he brings up Charlottesville, which had nothing to do with illegals whatsoever. He further has the nerve to mention “human dignity.” Where was Riley’s dignity when her head was bashed in by an illegal who’d been arrested and then released back on the street? And how long until these impotent and incompetent Democrats stop blaming Trump for everything? He’s been out of office for almost 4 years. For years, I bought the “very fine people on both sides” lie. I was floored when—after 5 years of BLINDLY hating him—I started looking into Trump in Sumner 2020 (because he seemed to be the only one even speaking about re-opening the country, and I was desperate to get back to work and could tell covid was a lie). I couldn’t believe how much I’d been lied to about Trump. One of the standouts was the Charlottesville lie about him saying there were “very find people on both sides,” including the nat-sees. He clearly says that he’s not talking about the nat-sees and whyte nationalists, and that they should be “condemned totally,” and then he doubles down by saying they’re “bad people.” Note too, even the ​⁠ video on YouTube is misleadingly titled. This lie was spread EVERYWHERE. ​⁠ launched his 2020 campaign on it—a lie. It’s still spread everywhere. I couldn’t believe how much they’d lied to me to get me to hate this man; realizing that was instrumental in my #walkaway journey. So it’s time we arm ourselves with the truth. It doesn’t mean you have to like or vote for Trump, but the onus is on each of us to know the truth and to be vigilant. Sure, a human fetus may “not know the difference” if he’s aborted. Neither does any human when his life is taken from him. What’s your point? Certain acts are objectively immoral—whether or not anyone is around to “know the difference” or to grieve. The taking of innocent human life that’s not your own, is one of those acts. 4 years ago this month I had my pronouns in my bio. I thought I was “doing my part” to make others not feel so alone. What I’ve learned over the course of the past 4 years, in becoming conservative and especially Christian, is that “compassion” without truth is not compassion at all. It’s a lie. It’s enabling. Here’s a story: a couple years ago, I was chased by a homeless woman (I’ve actually been chased by homeless people on two different occasions, all in the last couple years). It sounds funny but at the time it wasn’t. I was walking, because I didn’t own a car at the time, and it was in the middle of the pandemic. I could feel this woman lock onto me from across the street. I sensed it. Sure enough, she’d soon crossed the street and was yelling. Eventually I realized she was yelling at me, but I didn’t let on. I kept my head forward and kept walking. She started following me, and the man she was with followed suit. She walked faster; so did I. She ran; so did I. There weren’t any stores around, but I knew a park nearby so I ran there. Like I’d suspected, there were people—including men—at the park. Not one person, not one man did anything to help me. They all just stared. This woman was screaming that I was a “white b****” and that she was gonna eff me up. I was clearly in distress and running, but nobody did a damn thing. Even though it was two women, not one man stepped in to even try to diffuse the situation. That really stuck with me. I felt incredibly vulnerable and alone and frightened, and it hit me like a ton of bricks that you can’t rely on good people around to help you or do a damn thing. Now it’s my failing for not having a CCW at the time, and no man OWES me his protection, but it was a time that I really needed a man to step in. Even the dude this homeless woman was with, didn’t stop her. The situation could’ve ended up much worse, but still, it stayed with me. Again, imagine it’s your wife or daughters, fellas—just taking a walk or eating lunch outside. What would you want your brothers to do? Nothing? Men and women both have a responsibility to stand in the face of fear and to do the right thing, and men have a further responsibility to physically stand up and be on the frontlines. If you/we don’t—for fear of false imprisonment, death, or persecution—then the tyrants win. The people destroying society, men and women, gender roles, families, etc.—they win. I see both sides to this issue: yes, conservatives have bigger fish to fry right now, and some people need to calm down about an “influencer” who clearly profits off her looks, baking in a tight top. I’ll admit it’s also challenging to be both cute/stylish and modest as a woman; I’ll admit I struggle with that. But also: there’s a deeper conversation to be had here about modesty, and the idea that women can wear and do everything men can, and get no reaction IS a very feminist, very liberal idea. Men, society and women may not judge you quite as harshly for having a promiscuous past. But God does. Further, a good, desirable woman wants to know you can say NO. Yes, women get a little thrill when other women are attracted to our man. But we want you to be able to say, “no” to them—“I’m taken.” That gives us an even greater thrill. We want to know you’re devoted to us, and have the ability to show some self-control. Otherwise, you can be the most attractive man in the world, and still, you’re of no use to us. Because you’ll only leave us heartbroken. If you can’t say “no” to seggs and to women, you’re setting yourself up for toxicity and failure—same as the person who can’t say “no” to food or alcohol.
