The Bible is not just a book of truth, it is also a historical document that contains tales of family, conflict, love, and redemption. Among its true stories is the narrative of Ishmael and Isaac, sons of Abraham, and the age-old conflict that traces its roots back to them. Today, we will unravel this tale and understand its implications for our world.
While the Church is distinct from Israel and the covenants were made primarily with Israel, understanding these covenants is essential for grasping the full scope of God's redemptive plan. Recognizing and respecting these covenants allows the Church to have a richer and deeper understanding of its faith and the vastness of God's love and promises.

The concept of being "grafted into the vine" extends an invitation of spiritual nourishment and unity in Christ. In Romans 11:11-31, Paul intricately weaves a picture of how God's redemptive plan transcends the boundaries of Jew and Gentile, showcasing His immeasurable mercy and grace.
The beauty of the "grafting" process is that it signifies unity, shared sustenance, and growth. God's new covenant demonstrates that He is not exclusive but inclusive, wanting all to come to the knowledge of the truth, whether Jew or Gentile. As believers, recognizing this plan implores us to embrace our role in this divine tapestry with humility and gratitude, acknowledging the vastness of God's mercy and His redemptive plan for all of humanity.

Understanding God’s purpose for marriage is critical to having a godly marriage. God created marriage to be a covenant agreement between two people, a man and a woman, and Himself (Matthew 19:6; Malachi 2:14). As husband and wife, the couple is united by God as “one flesh” both legally and spiritually (Genesis 2:24). This three-way union, with God at the center, forms the foundation on which to build a godly marriage.
God has a unique purpose for the marriage covenant. A good resource on this topic is Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. In the book, the author explores the biblical concept that God’s intention for marriage is to make us more holy, not to make us happy. Christian marriage is a divine picture of Christ’s relationship with His bride, the church. Through His demonstration of love for us, Jesus Christ modeled how to love our partner in marriage: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. . . . This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church . . . and the wife must respect her husband” (Ephesians 5:25–33). Jesus came to serve and give Himself sacrificially for the church, which is what husbands and wives are called to do for one another in marriage.
If you’ve been married for any length of time, you understand the challenges of blending the lives and aspirations of two flawed and sinful people into one cohesive partnership. Marriage relationships are complex and complicated. We bring our emotional baggage and brokenness from past hurts into the mix. The only way to make a marriage work is for both partners to “follow God’s example, . . . and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Ephesians 5:1–2). We must obey the Lord’s command to love our spouse unselfishly, laying down our wants and desires “as Christ laid down his life for us” (1 John 3:16).
God’s purpose in the life of every believer, whether married or single, is spiritual transformation, as the believer is sanctified by the work of the Holy Spirit and conformed to Christ’s image (1 Peter 1:15–16; Romans 8:29; 12:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–7; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Hebrews 12:14). How different would our marriages look if we made it our life’s mission to help, support, serve, and pray for our spouse in his or her walk with Christ each day? Instead of focusing on our partner’s faults or our own unmet needs, what if we looked for ways to love one another in the completeness of God’s love (1 John 4:12)? What if we followed the instruction to “encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13), “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24), “serve one another humbly” (Galatians 5:13), “be devoted to one another” and “honor one another” above ourselves (Romans 12:10), and “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32)?
A godly marriage requires deliberate effort and sacrifice. The foundation starts with our faith in God and our commitment to our covenant with Him and our spouse. Keeping Christ at the center of our relationship is vital to maintaining the health and success of our marriage.
Here are some basic practical guidelines for fostering a godly marriage:
• Pray together regularly (Colossians 4:2). Praying as a couple will strengthen your spiritual bond and bring you both closer to the Lord. Be authentic with each other, confess your sins, and share your struggles.
• Read the Bible together regularly (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105).
• Attend church, worship together, and get plugged into the body of Christ. Serving and sharing your lives with other believers will build you up in the faith and provide a network of friends and counselors to support you through challenging times (Hebrews 10:24–25).
• Make important decisions together (Amos 3:3).
• Keep the lines of communication open (James 1:19). Listen to your spouse to hear what he or she is saying. Be honest and sincere. Treat each other with kindness and respect. Be quick to forgive.
• Nurture the romantic side of your relationship (Proverbs 5:18). Remember to have fun together, hold hands, laugh together, and admire each other’s accomplishments.
You can have a godly marriage. Even if your marriage seems beyond repair, don’t give up. Be sure you have done everything within your power to give God time to restore the relationship. Seek out a trained marriage counselor. Consider that God may have brought you to this place in your marriage to work out a good purpose in your life and the life of your spouse (Romans 8:28). Nothing is too difficult for God (Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:17; Matthew 19:26). The Lord wants to make you holy, whole, and complete. Your difficulties in marriage may be the path He has chosen to transform you.

Today we delve into the profound importance of praise and the life-giving power of our words. The Scriptures are filled with verses that emphasize the significance of praise and the impact of our spoken words. Let us explore these divine truths and learn from the examples of those in the Bible who understood this power.
Praise is a divine command and a source of spiritual strength. As we've explored, it has the power to transform our lives, bless those around us, and usher us into God's presence. Let us follow the examples of David, Paul, Silas, Job, and countless others in Scripture who understood the importance of praise and speaking life. May our mouths be filled with praise, our words be a source of life, and our lives be a testimony to the greatness of our God. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today, we delve into the story of the prophet Elijah's flight from Jezebel and how God redeemed and restored him in his moment of weakness and fear. This narrative found in 1 Kings 19 speaks to the very human struggles of even the most faithful servants of God.
Elijah's flight from Jezebel teaches us that even the strongest of faith can waver in the face of adversity. But God, in His boundless love and compassion, redeems and restores us in our moments of weakness. Just as He provided for Elijah's physical needs and spoke to him in a gentle whisper, God can sustain and guide us through our trials, renewing our sense of purpose and faith. Let us take comfort in the story of Elijah, knowing that God's redemption is always available to us when we turn to Him in our moments of weakness.

If you instead listen to the Lord, the Holy Spirit, you get on fire and you get revved up, then I believe you're going to see the greatest season of your life. 🙏

Tonight we gather to reflect on the urgent need for a "Josiah Generation" within the Church—a generation committed to holiness and revival, much like King Josiah of old. Josiah's story, found in 2 Kings, serves as a profound example of faithfulness and reform. Let us explore this theme through Scripture and see how it applies to our role in the Church today.
In these challenging times, we need a "Josiah Generation" in the Church, committed to unwavering faith, rediscovery of God's Word, and passionate reform. We are called to be a light in a dark world, turning hearts back to God and leading a revival of holiness. Let us rise to this calling, knowing that God's power is with us, just as it was with Josiah.
May we be catalysts for change, saving our nation from the allure of sin and idol worship. As we embark on this journey, let us remember the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV), "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

In order to get “right” with God, we must first understand what is “wrong.” The answer is sin. “There is no one who does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:3). We have rebelled against God’s commands; we “like sheep, have gone astray” (Isaiah 53:6).
The bad news is that the penalty for sin is death. “The soul who sins is the one who will die” (Ezekiel 18:4). The good news is that a loving God has pursued us in order to bring us salvation. Jesus declared His purpose was “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10), and He pronounced His purpose accomplished when He died on the cross with the words, “It is finished!” (John 19:30).
Having a right relationship with God begins with acknowledging your sin. Next comes a humble confession of your sin to God (Isaiah 57:15). “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:10).
This repentance must be accompanied by faith – specifically, faith that Jesus’ sacrificial death and miraculous resurrection qualify Him to be your Savior. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Many other passages speak of the necessity of faith, such as John 20:27; Acts 16:31; Galatians 2:16; 3:11, 26; and Ephesians 2:8.
Being right with God is a matter of your response to what God has done on your behalf. He sent the Savior, He provided the sacrifice to take away your sin (John 1:29), and He offers you the promise: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Acts 2:21).
A beautiful illustration of repentance and forgiveness is the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). The younger son wasted his father’s gift in shameful sin (verse 13). When he acknowledged his wrongdoing, he decided to return home (verse 18). He assumed he would no longer be considered a son (verse 19), but he was wrong. The father loved the returned rebel as much as ever (verse 20). All was forgiven, and a celebration ensued (verse 24). God is good to keep His promises, including the promise to forgive. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
If you want to get right with God, here is a sample prayer. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation. "God, I know that I have sinned against You and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness – the gift of eternal life! Amen!"

Here is what I believe we need to do in this season. I am taking my own advice here.
1. Consecrate ourselves. Search our hearts and ask the Lord (His Holy Spirit) if there are any areas we need to change in our lives and repent of.
2. Stop allowing distractions to consume us. We can’t run to people to get daily words. We need to hear from God ourselves and seek His face. We must have an active prayer life. “My sheep hear my voice”.
3. Humble ourselves. The pride in the church has gotten out of control. When/if we consecrate, it should immediately humble us as we get rid of unnecessary flesh, vain imaginations, and ungodly desires.
4. Stop comparing. Each of our callings is different and unique. Seek to please God. Do what is right in His eyes and walk worthy of the calling. This will grant His favor and anointing.
5. Stop making idols. There should not be any “jockeying” or desire to be part of a “cool crowd”. We can definitely have mentors, elders, friends, key alignments, and people we look up to in the ministry, but this doesn’t mean we pledge our allegiance to men over God.
6. Get away from sin. Come out from among the world (Babylon) system and live in a way that is set apart and reflects our faith. Raise our children in the ways of the Lord and teach them His Word. Close open doors.
7. Know the Bible. This is the roadmap. Hide it in your heart. This is how we get our faith.
8. Make disciples. Be about the great commission. Be a soul winner. This is the main thing.
9. Do what is right. Don’t fleece the Saints, don’t sell gimmicks and marketing strategies. Be real. Be authentic.
10. Repent. Live a lifestyle of repentance. Be a person who is after God's heart.
11. Be a “pure stream”. Stop trying to fit in with others who are not in the same mindset. God is looking for people who are willing to get rid of the “leaven”. What fellowship does light have with darkness?
12. Don’t compromise. We will never have to compromise to get to our calling.
13. Cry out to God. Pray for this nation and the church. Get involved when God says to do so. Be active in the community. Faith without works (action) is dead. Christians need to occupy and go out. We can’t leave vacuums in areas like politics and others where the church historically hasn’t been engaged.
14. Go deeper. Get on fire for God. Stay on fire for God.
15. Get out of the rat race. It’s unhealthy and won’t get you anywhere anyways. It will only cause unneeded stress and warfare.

“Come Out from Among Them: Living a Separate Life For Jesus Christ”
Today we talk about the call to come out from among them and lead a separate life in Christ.
In a world filled with temptations and distractions, the Bible provides us with clear guidance on how to remain faithful to our Lord. Let us turn to the Scriptures for wisdom and understanding.
I. The Biblical Foundation for Separation
A. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NIV)
"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"
This passage underscores the importance of not aligning ourselves too closely with unbelievers. It's not about avoiding them entirely but ensuring that our primary influences are godly.
II. Examples of Separation in the Bible
A. Abraham (Genesis 12:1-4)
- God called Abraham to leave his homeland and separate from his family to follow God's plan.
B. Daniel (Daniel 1:8)
- Daniel and his friends refused to defile themselves with the king's food, demonstrating their commitment to God's principles.
These biblical examples show us that separation is not isolation, but a conscious choice to prioritize our relationship with God above all else.
III. Practical Steps for Separation
A. Guarding Our Hearts (Proverbs 4:23)
- We must be diligent in protecting our hearts from worldly influences that can lead us away from God.
B. Choosing Our Associations Wisely (1 Corinthians 15:33)
- We should be mindful of our friendships and relationships, ensuring they align with our Christian values.
C. Pursuing Holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16)
- God calls us to be holy, which means living a life set apart for His purposes.
Living a separated life involves daily choices that reflect our commitment to Christ.
IV. The Promise of God's Presence
A. Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you."
As we come out from among them and draw near to God, He promises to be with us, guiding and protecting us in our journey of faith.
The call to come out from among them is a fundamental aspect of our Christian walk. It's about living a life that honors God, even in the midst of a world that often opposes His ways. Let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:16 (NIV): "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
May we be inspired by the examples of separation in the Bible and take real steps to live a life set apart for God's glory!
