We all have at least one tree in our yards. They might have been there for ages, providing cool shade in the summer and sucking up that nasty carbon dioxide from the air, not to mention the variety of wildlife they gather in their crowns. But just everything else that lives, even trees will meet their ends sooner or later, but they can pose a safety concern for everyone around. When Mimi’s husband told her that he had to cut down the tree in front of the house, she took the chance at a brand new craft project that she won’t even have to move! As a lover of the outdoors and an avid crafter, she knew they couldn’t just remove the whole stump. So she took matters into her own hands and got to work. They cut the stump like a roof pitch and bought some plywood and a bunch of planks. Mimi’s husband cut each plank in 4 by 4 inch squares. With the help of some copper plated nails, they arranged the squares like shingles on each of the plywood pieces for the roof of the house. The rest is just scraps of wood that can be arranged into a door and a couple of windows for the house. Decorate the outside which ever way you like - Mimi added a couple of clay pots with some flowers, a lantern out front and, of course, the owner of the property to keep things safe. The family loves it, the neighborhood loves it too. Now you can make one yourself! Happy crafting!
