F-14 Tomcat: An Endangered Species
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American carrier-capable supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, twin-tail, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft. The Tomcat was developed for the United States Navy's Naval Fighter Experimental program after the collapse of the F-111B project.
The U.S. Navy decided to fill the role of fighter attack aircraft with the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and the F-14 Tomcat was finally retired on September 22, 2006. The Super Tomcat 21 instead remains one of the more fascinating examples of what could have been.

RAH-66 Comanche: The F-35 of Helicopters
The U.S. has long led the world in stealth technologies, and for a time, it looked as though America's love for all things low-observable would extend all the way into rotorcraft like the RAH-66 Comanche attack helicopter
The Boeing–Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche is US Army's stealth armed reconnaissance and attack helicopter designed for the United States Army. Following decades of development, the RAH-66 program was canceled in 2004 before mass production began, by which point nearly US$7 billion had been spent on the program.

How Aircraft Carriers Defend Themselves From Missiles & More
Aircraft carriers are the centerpiece of America's Naval forces – the most adaptable and survivable airfields in the world. On any given day, Sailors aboard an aircraft carrier and its air wing come to the fight trained and equipped across a full range of missions. They are ready to control the sea, conduct strikes, and maneuver across the electromagnetic spectrum and cyberspace. No other naval force fields a commensurate range and depth of combat capabilities.

Why the F-35B could be a Game-Changer
According to the most recent Marine Corps Aviation Plan, the service plans to buy 420 F-35s: 353 F-35Bs and 67 F35Cs. That would have supported nine squadrons of 16 F-35Bs each, five squadrons with 10 F-35Bs each, four squadrons with 10 F-35C carrier-variant jets, two reserve squadrons with 10 F-35Bs, and two fleet readiness squadrons with 25 F-35Bs each.
“For us, the F-35B, the ability to operate from austere airfields and ships, both incredible. In fact, in war games, one of the handful of capabilities that really causes an adversary problems, because it is so flexible, its’ employable ashore or from ship,” General DAVID H. BERGER, Commandant of the Marine Corps.
“Game-changer is sort of an overused phrase, but I am a huge advocate of the F-35 and its capabilities.”

Why can't the U.S. Build Any New F-22 Raptors
A 2017 Pentagon report to Congress detailing production retail costs for Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor show that reviving the powerful stealth air superiority fighter would be prohibitively expensive.
Moreover, it would take so long to reconstitute the production line that it would not be until the mid to late 2020s before the first “new” F-22s would have flown. By that time, the F-22 would be increasingly challenged by enemy—Russian and Chinese—capabilities.

America's New Naval Strike Missile (NSM) is a Beast
The Naval Strike Missile (NSM) is an anti-ship and land-attack missile developed by the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
The NSM is a potent anti-ship platform. FLYING AT high-subsonic speed, the missile can engage targets on land and sea and evade radar detection by skimming over the ocean surface or maneuvering around terrain features when flying over land. Moreover, the NSM initiates random flight maneuvers during its terminal flight phase that help the missile evade enemy countermeasures.

The F-15EX is No True Competitor for Russia or China
The F-15EX is a ready-now replacement for the F-15C that includes best-in-class payload, range and speed. Designed to deliver value to the U.S. Air Force, the F-15EX will be a backbone fighter for the service – not just today, but for the next several decades. Boeing engineers created hundreds of digital aircraft before cutting any metal, and flew thousands of hours before our first test flight. The result is an aircraft with a digital backbone, open system architecture and the capacity to carry hypersonic weapons, making it a key element of the U.S. Air Force’s tactical fighter fleet.
This page provides the information you need for F-15EX. We invite you to sign up to receive the latest updates from Boeing, and learn about how we’ve already begun fulfilling our commitments to deliver this critical fighter to the U.S. Air Force.

This is How the Future U.S. FIGHTER JETS Looks Like
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. began his tenure as the service’s top officer with an order and a warning: Accelerate change—or lose.
“I think Fiscal Year 2023 is the year. If we, as a department and as an Air Force, don’t make a big shift in ’2023, then I’m concerned,” Brown said in an interview. “That’s the time we’ve got to make a shift.”
The Air Force faces mounting bills for a host of new aircraft: KC-46 tankers, F-35A, and F-15EX fighters, T-7A trainers, the B-21 bomber, the Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) aircraft, and an all-new nuclear ballistic missile, all at once.

Why No Nation Wants to Fight the B-2 Bomber
The Northrop (later Northrop Grumman) B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses. Designed during the Cold War, it is a flying wing design with a crew of two.
The bomber is subsonic and can deploy both conventional and thermonuclear weapons, such as up to eighty 500-pound class Mk 82 JDAM GPS-guided bombs, or sixteen 2,400-pound B83 nuclear bombs. The B-2 is the only acknowledged aircraft that can carry large air-to-surface standoff weapons in a stealth configuration.

There Is Only 1 Way to Save the Aircraft Carrier from the 'Scraper': Study Battleships
How can the U.S. Navy prolong the relevance of its big-deck aircraft carriers amid increasingly menacing surroundings? In part, through hindsight. The Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor rudely evicted dreadnought battleships from their perch atop the navy's pecking order. The day of the aircraft carrier had arrived. And yet battleships found new life for a time, pressed into service for secondary but vital functions. That could be the flattop's eventual fate as well. Naval-aviation proponents may find insights from battleship history discomfiting. They should study them nonetheless.

The C-2 Greyhound Replacement is Coming
One of the oldest aircraft used by the U.S. Navy on board its aircraft carriers will begin to be replaced soon. The C-2A Greyhound turboprop, manufactured by Northrop Grumman in the 1960s, will leave the scene by 2024 for the CMV-22B to enter service.
“The CMV-22B brings expanded capabilities not only to the carrier onboard delivery mission, but to the high-end fight,” said U.S. Navy Captain Dewon Chaney, Commodore, Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Wing. “We are anxious to get it to the fleet and show off its immense capabilities and agile flexibility.”

The Good News about the KC-46 Tanker
The Boeing-built KC-46 tanker is a military version of the 767 commercial aircraft. It is intended to replace the oldest of the U.S. Air Force’s KC-135 Stratotanker fleet -- some of which are over 50 years old.
The KC-46A will be able to refuel any fixed-wing receiver capable aircraft on any mission. This aircraft is equipped with a modernized KC-10 refueling boom integrated with proven fly-by-wire control system and delivering a fuel offload rate required for large aircraft. In addition, the hose and drogue system adds additional mission capability that is independently operable from the refueling boom system.

Next Generation LASER WEAPONS Are Coming
The Self-protect High Energy Laser Demonstrator, currently exists as a bulky, ground-based demonstrator. However, the Air Force is optimistic that Self-protect High Energy Laser can be shrunk to a small pod that could be tested on an F-15 fighter by this year and eventually integrated also integrated into F-16 and F-35 single-engine fighters. Some sources suggest the system may see its first flight tests on C-17 or C-130 cargo planes.

This is what the F-22 Raptor's Replacement will be like
The Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, General Charles Quinton Brown recently outlined his vision for the future of the US Air Force tactical fighter fleets, and it does not include the F-22 Raptor 5th generation stealth fighter. For many this has come as a profound shock.
The F-22 is without question the most lethal and survivable fighter aircraft in operational service anywhere in the world and remains unlikely to be challenged in raw capability terms by any of the latest generation of combat aircraft under development by Russia and China. Furthermore, it is the second youngest of the US Air Force’s fighter fleets, with production having been undertaken from 1996 and 2011.

Nothing Can Kill the Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer
The Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers (DDGs) is a United States Navy class of destroyer built around the Aegis Combat System and the AN/SPY radar. The class is named for Admiral Arleigh Burke, an American destroyer officer in World War II, and later Chief of Naval Operations. The lead ship, USS Arleigh Burke, was commissioned during Admiral Burke's lifetime.
These warships were designed as multimission destroyers, able to fulfill the strategic land strike role with Tomahawk missiles; antiaircraft warfare role with powerful Aegis radar and surface-to-air missiles; antisubmarine warfare with towed sonar array, anti-submarine rockets, and ASW helicopter; and antisurface warfare with Harpoon missile launcher.
