Pond and River Organisms - Under the Microscope!
Today, we went out and took random water samples from a local pond and river. The pond showed the most life under the microscope which was expected. Near the end of the video, you will see what looks like oil in the water. This is actual oil from a goose. Most waterfowl produce oil from a gland to help them stay waterproof. The insect featured on the thumbnail looks to be a mayfly larvae. There is SO MUCH life in the water. Stay tuned for our next video and don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE!! Thanks all.

Fire and Burning Candle Under the Microscope
Everything is more interesting under the microscope! Ever watch a candle burn up close? Not many have. It's a very interesting process - once the wax is heated, the burning wick pulls (wicks) the wax up into its fibers - much like a hot chimney drafting smoke up and out. The process is mesmerizing.

Accidentally cutting yourself is never great. This is what a razor blade cut does to the skin. Fortunately this was a very clean cut that wasn't too deep. Always make sure to clean a cut to prevent infection. Adding Hydrogen peroxide to the cut shows the bubbling on a large scale. If you look closely, you'll be able to see gas being released.
