Study Buddy 3.0 - Decentralizing Assessment.
This video presents supports our Study Buddy 3.0 proposal for Cardano Catalyst Fund8.
Topics
1. A standard model for verifying credentials
2. Unpacking the standard model and applying it to educational credentialing
3. Presenting a new, decentralized model for credentialing, where "credential" is "a basis for finding something credible."
This credibility eventually becomes the basis of a new system of exchange in thinking as well as in commerce.

Four Different Approaches to Dealing with Grief 1 of 6 Introduction
Grief and grieving have always been a part of human life, and they are more with us now than ever before. We have all suffered multiple losses in the last few years, adding to the many losses we've all experience just being alive.
Although a universal phenomenon, in many ways grief and grieving are still kind of mysterious, kind of taboo, and we have many misconceptions about them.
One misconception is that our grief is solely our own. But the last few years have shown us how some or even much of our grief is collective.
At the same time, generally our grief is our own to process, or not. By processing our grief we can move to happier or more peaceful or more balanced states of mind generally.
This course discusses four approaches you can explore in dealing with your own loss, be it the loss of a loved one or a relationship, a loss of freedom or a loss of trust, or whether the loss happened yesterday or when you were a child. Any of these can be explored and rebalanced with the tools you'll learn about in this course.
The four tools are Buddhist Mindfulness Meditation, James & Friedman Grief Recovery Method, Byron Katie The Work, and Neo-Ancestral Ceremony.
Learning about the tools, you'll still need to do your own work of rebalancing. Grief is not something someone or something else can take care of for you. You will still need to do the work yourself. But with the help of others and using the right tools, coming to terms with your losses is one of the kindest and wisest and smartest things you can do for yourself, and for those around you.
I Mickel Modig am a life-long learner who needed to deal with loss and so sought out possible sources of relief in pscyhology and spirituality to get some relief. I've also sought satisfaction in a variety of harmful habits as I tried to come to terms with some of the losses I've experienced in this lifetime. So I am recommending these particular tools because I have worked with them extensively myself and found them effective. Best not to work alone so reach out as you think about these videos. Inventing the Smart Learning Contract on Cardano Podcast 1 of 3
So Say We presents this first of three episodes in podcast format of this concept that is so big and so transformational we have a LOT to say about it.
We (Paul Erikson and Mickel Modig) discuss why SLC's are necessary and how they might work to revolutionize the educational system in line with the goals of Cardano.
We also discuss our current real-world project in which we are minting NFT's as Evidence of Progress.
0.14 Smart Learning Contract (SLC), next step of Web 3.0 for Earth to raise consciousness
1.28 SLC = 'smart contract' + 'learning contract'
1.56 Developers to translate our team's real world work
2.14 Parallel to financial system transformation, decentralization of credentialing
3.00 Blockchain's verifiable integrity provides credibilty for credentialing purposes
7.10 Susceptibilities of centralized systems
7.40 'Standardization' decentralized, peers validate what each other has learned
8.25 Assessment through decentralized peer review
8.45 'Proof of Progress' vs normative or criterion-referenced standards.
9.11 Issues with quantitative and normative assessment
10.20 Normative assessment inc. stanine not central to New Earth model
13.50 ePortfolio
15.55 SLC = qualitative peer validation of Proof of Progress specific to qualify for a certain task or kind of competency
17.46 Submitting Proof of Progress to be as easy as sending off a selfie
18.39 "Liking" vs "validating" - contract aspect to correct imbalance of moral hazard
19.50 Incentivizing Proof of Progress that is valuable, relevant, beneficial to the community
21.00 Example, learning to cook. Proof of Progress artifacts decentrally curated on validity
22.20 Reality-based, ontologic/metaphysical aspect is needed and possible at this time.
