My name is Mayim. I’m 42 years old, and a homeschool mom of 7 beautiful children. I became a Naturopathic Herbalist & Health Coach in order to take charge of my family's health when the modern medical system kept failing us. We were spending thousands of dollars on insurance and other medical expenses, but they did not have any answers for our health problems. Having an online business has been such a blessing for me. I used to work at the NASA Ames Research Center as a Computer Scientist / Engineer, but being able to have an online business has enabled me to surpass my income at NASA, and to be there for my family, homeschool them, take care of them, watch them grow up every step of the way for 18 years now. I started Arukah.com in 2009 to help people become healthy and heal themselves. I’ve coached all sorts of people, and eventually even medical doctors and nurses started coming to me repeatedly for help for various health issues for themselves or their loved ones. I help people heal themselves of serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease & high blood pressure, diabetes, as well as other common issues such as hormone imbalances, abnormal bleeding, migraines, eczema, kidney stones, gallstones, cataracts, and urinary tract infection. Various people began asking me to start teaching what I know about holistic health and healing including 2 medical doctors who have become very good friends of mine. When I realized that there was such a demand for the knowledge I have, that even medical doctors were telling me to teach, I shifted the focus of Arukah.com. Now we teach people how to become confident healers through our Naturopathic Herbalist and Health Coach Certification Program. This is Mayim Vega, your naturopathic herbalist and holistic life coach. I'm the founder of Arukah Holistic Life Academy at arukah.com. I was speaking to one of my staff and he was saying that I need to answer more questions that people often ask, publicly, so that anyone who asks can just have that information about our herbalist certification program. I'm gonna answer one of the most common questions that people have which is, “How long does it take to become a certified herbalist?” Now, the American Herbalist Guild requires 400 hours of training and clinical experience. At arukah.com, our program is a year long program. It's a year of serious study because we have people who are doctors, nurses, EMTs and dentists that come to us for coaching and certification about holistic health and healing. Of course, we have students with absolutely no medical and health background but for the people that do, how long did it take them to study their trade? Depending on what it is, at least a year or more. For the nurses and doctors it could take two, four, more years. Now, it doesn't take that long to start practicing and to become the healer of your home or to build a business. It can be accomplished in one year. It's not necessarily typical. People do things at their own time because it’s a self-paced, distance learning, course. One of the beauties of it is it's designed for people who have families and jobs already so they can start incorporating it into their lives. One of the reasons it can be done so quickly… I say quickly because I think a one-year program is quick. I, personally, spent more than a year on my education, but the reason we can distill it to one year at arukah.com is because we have taken the best out there and only give you that. Whereas, a lot of things that I learned in other places were just not powerful. They were very theoretical and we try to cut to what's going to bring effective healing. In order to do that, you don't need to study a lot but you have to study from the best. You have to study from the top healers in our day and listen to what they are saying and what is working for them, right? You don't have to know everything, also. You have to know some basics and then you have to focus on the things that you want to specialize in on top of some very common things. With our program, we go through, Foundational Health Principles and identifying toxins and detoxification. The next module is on Nutrition and Orthomolecular Nutrition or Megadose Vitamin Therapy. Then, we have a module on Herbalism. We have more modules on Naturopathy and common and killer diseases–common issues and more serious diseases. We have a coaching module which covers Health and Life Coaching because healing is a holistic approach. It's not just about what you eat or what herbs you take. It's also about your mindset and your life. It's about your spirit, your character and your relationships with people and that's where coaching comes in. How to have the right mindset to deal with people, to deal with yourself, to have the right outlook to achieve the goals in life because, ultimately, that's why we want to be healthy. We want to heal ourselves because we want the energy and the time to be able to pursue our goals. It's very interesting… I recently had someone contact us about our courses and he's an EMT and a CNA –Certified Nurse's Assistant– and he said. “I dislike the current protocols for patient care. It's partial and sometimes incorrect. I want to be able to heal my family and anyone else in need because it won't happen going to a traditional doctor. I'm interested in learning which herbs to use, the proper dosage, proper preparation and potential side effects. My mother was very sickly so, I always wanted to be in healthcare but the current system doesn't care about health, just the money.” These are his words. He says, “I want people to feel like they have another option for healthcare that's not pills and shots. Thank you for this opportunity…” so on and so forth but I just wanted to read that to you to encourage you and that's exactly what our school, our training, certification program, you know what our courses are all about. Again, it can be finished in one year. It's a year of serious study but our program is self-paced so you can take your time. You don't have to finish it in a year. You can do it at your own leisure. We also customize the program to meet your specific needs so if you're interested in learning specifically about cancer, gut health, high blood pressure or whatever it is that you want to focus on first, you can absolutely tailor the program to the specific things that you are dealing with in your life, your family, and maybe in your circle of friends.
