Moluccan Cockatoo is scared of Turtles
On a recent visit to a Pet Store Max the Moluccan Cockatoo checked out a few of the big tanks. You never know who you are going to meet. Max wasn't too sure about the Turtles, especially when they started swimming towards him. Were the Turtles watching the parrot, or was the parrot watching the turtles? The turtles were quite large and were unlike any animal he had ever seen before, so he cautiously retreated to the safety of his human's arm.
The majestic turtles were curious and came right over to the side of the glass to take a better look at the large white cockatoo who had stopped by their space.
Max is the original Moluccan Cluckatoo with his unmistakable trademark Bok that he sings with joy. It’s hard not to laugh when you watch this 25 year old male Moluccan Cockatoo with a larger than life attitude. Max believes that all humans are ridiculous, it’s always a great time for snacks, and, of course, that the world revolves around him. His life is filled with adventures that he loves to share with his flockers. Occasionally Max shares the spotlight with flock members Tycho (A 23 year old African Grey who believes cameras are parrot eating monsters), Tikal (A 44 year old Amazon who enjoys saying hello), and his owner (a featherless biped who doesn’t listen).
Max is living with his owner in his forever home. When he was ten years old he was rescued from a bad situation. In his original home he was living in a basement, and had a lot of behavioral challenges – screaming non-stop and biting to the point that he couldn’t be handled safely. He has come a long way since then, and is now very friendly and social.
The Moluccan Cockatoo, also known as a Salmon-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis) can live 60 to 80 years. They are readily recognized by their trademark peach color with a brilliant Salmon colored crest that provides a brilliant display. Like all parrots they require a lot of attention, nutrition and care.

Moluccan Cockatoo performs unique Flamenco inspired dance
Everyone should let themselves dance and get into the music like Max the Moluccan Cockatoo! He starts with a gentle beak click, and then starts to add in a few head movements. Very soon he is dancing and clicking away like a seasoned Flamenco dancer, using his beak like a castanet. Who knew that a Cockatoo originating from Indonesia could put on a show worthy of a seasoned spanish dancer?

Two Cockatoos and a Coffee Cup
Two Moluccan Cockatoos were nicely playing with an empty coffee cup. Max would toss the cup on the ground, and Q would pick it up and hand it back to him. Tiring of the game Q decided to play a prank on Max by taking the cup back at the last minute. Doesn't Max look surprised? Whose cup is it anyway?

African Grey Parrot Bravely Faces an Avian Skeleton
It's that time of the year that spooky things start to happen. Tycho the Grey makes a new friend. Skinny doesn't start to describe him. A little unsure at first, Tycho eyes up the avian skeleton, before cautiously edging away and sounding the drip alarm. Maybe he thinks his new friend is thirsty?
October is definitely the halloweird season - stay tuned to find out how else Tycho and the flock will celebrate the Halloween season!
Tycho the Grey is a 23 year old Congo African Grey. He has quite the personality, although can be camera shy. It's hard not to laugh as you watch him interact with his world, with his quiet commentary of sound effects.
Tycho believes that all silence is golden, pumpkins are delicious, cameras are parrot eating monsters, and, of course, that he is the top bird of the household. His life is filled with adventure. He lives with Max the Moluccan (the original Cluckatoo, a larger-than life 25 year old Moluccan Cockatoo), Tikal the Amazon (A 44 year old Amazon who enjoys saying hello), and his owner (a featherless biped who doesn’t listen).
Tycho living with his owner in his forever home. He was adopted when he was six months old, and has always lived with the same owner. Like most greys, Tycho is an introvert, and prefers things to be a bit quieter.
The Congo African Grey Parrot can live 60 to 70 years in captivity. They are readily recognized by their trademark grey feathers, white face and bright red tail. Like all Parrots they require a lot of attention, nutrition and care.

Cockatoo or Chicken? When Max the Moluccan starts clucking, you have to look twice. Max isn't confused about anything though - he knows that he is the original Moluccan Cluckatoo! It's his personal sound of joy, and a great way to celebrate warm sunshine on the patio, while confusing the neighbours with a loud and hearty Bok Bok Bok Bok! It’s hard not to laugh when you see this parrot doing his best impression of a chicken.

Hilarious cockatoos have a party in the parking lot
Two Moluccan Cockatoos having a party is not what you expect to find in a small town parking lot, but Max and Q are having a parrot party in Bragg Creek. It's really endearing to watch these two Moluccan Cockatoos interact with each other. A lot of people gathered around to watch the two 'Toos vocalize with joy.
This is how everyone should greet their friends! Their excitement meeting each other is contagious! The two Cockatoos sing, dance and throw an impromptu party to the delight of onlookers.Everybody whipped out their cell phones to catch the party - after all, it's not that often that two Moluccan Cockatoos drop into a small town for a play date and entertain the crowds. Max isn't quite sure what to make of the younger female cockatoo when she starts to show off, but he just gets louder and more excited.

Hilarious Cockatoos Meet Each Other In Pet Store
It's really easy to forget that we are not the only living beings living on this planet. We're trapped in our concrete jungles, escaping the scorching heat and the freezing icy winters in the sanctity of our homes. The only contact with the outside world are photographs and videos of animals living freely in the wild. But they are here, we share the same oxygen, we share the food, the water, the ups and downs of the climate changes.
Love for animals has only increased as time has gone on. This day we can see lots of animals, whther it is dogs, cats being the most dominant but also pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs and many more that were previously known as eatables now have become completly domesticated.
This is how everyone should greet their friends! In this video Max the Moluccan meets Q, a younger female Moluccan. Their excitement meeting each other is contagious! In this video Tycho the African Grey is hanging out on his play stand playing with a paper cup. Crazy Cockatoo Wears a Cup for a Hat!
In this video Max the Moluccan tries on a new hat – a cup. How ridiculous – a cup isn’t a hat. The Parrot tried on two different hats, with a predictable end – the hat, or in this case the cup, goes flying! One of the hats was very cute and looked like a blue teddy bear. The other hat was larger and blue. But this Cockatoo knows that birds don’t need any hats.

Amazon Parrot Displays Colourful Feathers as he Enjoys a Spray Shower
In this video Tikal the Amazon takes a shower on his play stand. He’s very enthused about the spray bottle, and opens his wings wide to make sure that he gets well sprayed. Obviously he is enjoying himself, happily vocalizing to share his joy with the world. As the water is sprayed he changes his angles, and shows off his brilliantly coloured feathers. Water droplets on the feathers look almost iridescent, as if he is wearing a million sparkling diamons. At times Tikal ducks his head as if to hide under his wings, but it’s all part of showertime joy.
Tikal the Amazon is a 44 year old Amazon Parrot who enjoys saying hello and hanging out with the flock. He’s very easy going, enjoys afternoon naps and watching the world as it goes by. Max the Moluccan in Fan Mail - Funny Reaction to Stolen Images
Hi, my name is Max the Moluccan, and I get a lot of great questions from the flock. I always have some great advice to offer… with a bit of a twist. (If you didn't want my advice, you wouldn't have asked).
In today’s video I tackle the thorny question of theft. I’ve had my images and videos stolen often enough that I know just how to deal with those peoples with sticky claws. Turn up the volume and pay really close attention as I demonstrate my trademark answer to thieves everywhere. I tell it as it is – and send a message loud and clear!
The great thing about my solution is that it’s fun to implement – yelling ALWAYS feels good!
Today’s video involves extreme closeups, dancing, and a classic Moluccan tantrum complete with subtitles. Sit back and enjoy the fun.
If you have any Fan Mail for Max leave your questions and comments below. If you ask a good question it could be featured in a future issue of Fan Mail or the ever popular 'Too & A.
