Max the Moluccan had a lot to say when he met some new neighbours! They were quite surprised to see him out for a walk.

Max certainly has mastered the art of the bawk! He knows how to entertain the neighborhood, and how to celebrate the joys of a sunny shiny patio!

Call the plumber - there must be a leak! Tycho the Congo African Grey flawlessly imitates the sound of dripping water. Maybe he's thirsty?

On a warm day, walking outside and checking everything out is my favourite thing to do. The grass is green, skies are blue, and birds are singing. All is right in my world. The breeze feels great in my feathers.

A tasty presentation of fresh squash, bok Choi and sunflower seeds on a swinging skewer looks like a lot of fun. This green Amazon Parrot enjoys foraging and reaching for his favourite treats. Don't you wish your dinner was this much fun to eat?

Max the Moluccan is very excited to see his friend Kyle, and immediately steps up as soon as an arm is offered. He wants to socialize and get scratches under the wing. Every time we go to the pet store Max hangs out with his friends!

Max the Moluccan knows how to keep cool on a warm summer day - turn on the hose for a cool shower and a refreshing drink. What fun!

Max the Moluccan tries to be clever when entertaining the neighbours. Today he clucked like a chicken, and followed up with a siren! Bawk bawk bok and scremsong, and a feather display - how can you help but smile!

Max the Moluccan appreciates a good chew, and this slice of pine is a perfect size to hold and nibble. He keeps turning it around to find the best spot to chew. Chewing on wood is a great way to keep the beak groomed, and is a fun hobby. Fabulous toy! So satisfying to make toothpicks!

Everybody makes bad life choices. Tycho, a congo african grey parrot, is clearly reconsidering the wisdom of grabbing an entire ear of corn on the cob. He almost overbalances as it swings wildly, but makes a remarkable recovery, and settles to eat his prize while holding it with one foot. It's amazing how strong these birds are!

Tycho didn't need to be asked twice if he could dance. He got right into it - who needs music? He dances to his own drummer. Head twirls and feather flips. Even a wave. Everything was groovy... then he noticed the camera and tried to pretend it didn't happen.

On a hot summer day nothing is as much fun as a spray shower on the patio to cool down! If you fluff just right you can soak your human too!

A warm summers day, wind blowing through your feathers holding a delicious cone filled with a favourite treat! Wait for the satisfying crunch. In this case a cone filled with cooked eggs - a healthy treat (birds can't eat dairy). So delicious! Max the Moluccan loves to hold his food while eating like a big bird - and the cone is a great way to keep his feet clean. So much fun!

Not sure if I want to go for a Bawk or a Walk. So many tough decisions when you are a bird! Maybe I'll start off with a loud Bok then enjoy my walk.

When asked the all important question "Can you bok?", there is only one answer! Max the Moluccan cockatoo can also sound like a spray bottle and click his beak - and he will demonstrate, just in case you were wondering.

This parrot is clearly having an identity crisis - he thinks he's a chicken. Just listen to him Bok! He also calls for Mama like a child, and chides the sparrows with an enthusiastic uh-uh when they get too close. Max the Moluccan is one of a kind, and is sure to put a smile on your face.

Sunning my underfluffies on a warm, sunny patio. I climbed around upside down having fun in the sun. What a wonderful outdoor playground!

Oh yeah! That's the spot! Max the Moluccan Cockatoo was very itchy with all his new pin feathers, and enjoyed being preened on the patio. He even started preening himself. Doesn't it look relaxing?

Shake it! Shake it! What fun! Time for a rousing game of Jingle Ball on the sunny patio! Max the Moluccan Cockatoo loves the jingling sound and gets into the spirit of the game. Bright primary colours, interesting shapes to explore, marvelous sounds and a tempting bell just out of reach. He's going to figure out how to break into his new toy.

Max the Moluccan is quite chatty this morning performing a patio concert. He starts off with a crowd pleasing Mama, then tosses in his famous Cluckatoo impression (Bok, Bok), Scremsong, beak tap, and then starts introducing himself - after all Max, Maxwell are his favourite words. Of course there is an obligatory fluff so he can show off his Fluffenchops, and raise his impressive crest. Who can resist a talkative Moluccan Cockatoo when they are this cute? The brilliant blue sky and green foliage on the patio nicely set off this gorgeous Cockatoo's delicate peach and salmon coloured feathers.

Bravely going where no Moluccan has gone before! The edge of the city! Nothing but fields, clouds, cows and sparrows.. where are all the peoples? Despite the wind messing up my feathers I stopped to say hello to the cows, but they didnt answer back. How rude!

In this adorable video Max the Moluccan Cockatoo meets a new friend. Santa Claus! Max is quite curious about the beard, white hair and red hat, but then decides that Santa is a great person to hang out with. What can be more adorable than a Parrot visiting old St. Nick? This parrot is feeling the joy of the season. Max is the original Moluccan Cluckatoo with his unmistakable trademark Bok that he sings with joy. It’s hard not to laugh when you watch this 25 year old male Moluccan Cockatoo with a larger than life attitude. Max believes that all humans are ridiculous, it’s always a great time for snacks, and, of course, that the world revolves around him. His life is filled with adventures that he loves to share with his flockers. Occasionally Max shares the spotlight with flock members Tycho (A 23 year old African Grey who believes cameras are parrot eating monsters), Tikal (A 44 year old Amazon who enjoys saying hello), and his owner (a featherless biped who doesn’t listen). Max is living with his owner in his forever home. When he was ten years old he was rescued from a bad situation. In his original home he was living in a basement, and had a lot of behavioral challenges – screaming non-stop and biting to the point that he couldn’t be handled safely. He has come a long way since then, and is now very friendly and social. The Moluccan Cockatoo, also known as a Salmon-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis) can live 60 to 80 years. They are readily recognized by their trademark peach color with a brilliant Salmon colored crest that provides a brilliant display. Like all parrots they require a lot of attention, nutrition and care.
