This Sunday, Mike McClung continued the series, "Song of Solomon: Going Deeper" with Part 3. In this message, Mike discusses the rest that comes from full surrender. Abandonment to God makes no terms with, or puts limits on, submission to God. In this place, faith is active and reasoning is subjected. What I don't know, God knows, and I walk on in the humility of faith. The soul is at rest in God, and “internal” accusation and faultfinding (the conscience ruling and not the Spirit), ceases. Fear holds no power now, and the restless desires of ambition, envy, offense and unmet expectations fall away. Month of Prayer and Fasting for Tennessee – July 2024 Just recently, the Tennessee General Assembly passed House Joint Resolution 803 into law. The legislation was authored by TN Representative Monty Fritts (32nd District) as “A Resolution to seek God’s hand of mercy and healing to rest on Tennessee.” This also dedicates July 1st-31st as a Month of Prayer and Fasting for the State of Tennessee. Representative Fritts has committed to traveling to all 95 Counties of TN during the month of July to assist the local Church anyway he can. The plan is to join together with leaders and members of the Body of Christ on the steps of each county courthouse to read the Resolution, explain the need for repentance and pray together. The hope is to create a “solemn assembly” (Joel 2:12-17) that is interconnected by the Spirit throughout the state. The Body of Christ must Take It From Here: Rep. Fritts is calling for the Body of Christ to turn to the Lord, and spend the entire month asking for the Lord’s mercy, not just the dates he visits the local courthouse. He is limited by the oaths and duties of his elected office, and he knows that for this to work, the Body of Christ must spread the word about this, organize gatherings and most importantly, make repentance a priority above all else. What This Means for Blount County and Lionheart: Blount County has held a Solemn Assembly on the steps of the Blount County Court House on Saturday, July 20th at 12PM (noon) EST. Several pastors and intercessors led prayer along with Rep. Fritts to stand before the Lord on behalf of Blount County.

The soul and natural life are stripped by degree and decrease, so His resurrection life now invades and increases by degree. This Sunday, David Townsend teaches a message called, "Simple Repentance." In it, he goes back to the foundations of who God is, who we are, and what must be done to choose life over death: namely, repent. So often in the Body of Christ, we move on quickly, dull the knife or don't talk about repentance at all, but true, clear teaching and heart-level repentance must return to our pulpits. This Sunday, Mike McClung returned to the Song of Solomon. This message delves into the end of Chapter 4, and starts Chapter 5. These verses explore the seasons of our lives where the Lord begins to deal with the natural life within us. The Bridal Soul has devoted herself to the Lord, and wants to live a holy life. This is where the fruit of the Lord has grown within us, and He wants to take us to a deeper place of maturity. So He invites His "friends" to eat our fruit, and trample on our garden. It is a picture of the Lord using circumstances and people, including His leaders, to strip away our self-defense mechanisms and natural life barriers. We have heard it said that "Life and death are in the power of the tongue," but most do not understand the ways in which we have spoken curses, lies and death over ourselves and others. This Sunday, Mike McClung taught from the "Preparing for Battle" with the message, "End-time Special Forces." Many in the body of Christ seem to understand that the Lord has called us as an army to enforce the victory of the Cross. However, most do not know the gravity of being called as "End-time Special Forces." According to Deut. 20, and many other passages, we must not let ourselves be entangled with personal concerns when it is time to engage corporately. We must also undergo training, and consecration that many in the larger Body of Christ will not understand. Finally, we must learn to be led by the Spirit--often using unusual tactics, and supplied by the miraculous--to accomplish the purposes of the Lord. If we react poorly, with a vengeful or bitter heart, a root of bitterness can form in our hearts, stopping all growth. However, if we choose to forgive, the Lord uses our circumstances along with His discipline as our Father to train us up into Christ's image. This Sunday, Mike McClung returned to the Restoration of Biblical Manhood Series. In Part 1, Mike talked about how we have lost the clear view of Jesus Christ as a warrior and mighty man. And together with that, we have lost a clear view of who and what men are supposed to be. We must return to the right understanding of both. The gospel is NOT: "Jesus died for your sin so you don't have to go to hell." The gospel better stated: "Jesus died and rose again as a conquering King over the enemy and his forces, and now commands all to repent, change their allegiance, and lose themselves for His sake." This is not a gospel that can be presented by women alone. This Sunday, Mike McClung returned to the Emerging Ekklesia Series with the message, "The Kingdom Purpose of the Family." The last thing before effectual warfare can be waged is to make sure the family is in order. Church culture has taught us that kids should be busy, and that busyness equates to training in the things that matter. The truth is, if we do not come into kingdom order, the world will train our kids to follow trends of darkness, instead of the Lord. But even if our family structure doesn't reflect the ideal, what is more important is to build up the family of God. We can neither neglect nor worship our blood families.
