Today we read about Manoah and his wife having Samson, the man that would begin freeing the Israelites from the Philistines. Solomon writes about the woman looking for the one her heart loves and then King Solomon showing up. Zephaniah writes about Jerusalem remaining unrepentant and the Lord rescuing those that are faithful to the God.

Today we read about Jephthah leading the Gileadites against the Ephraimites and then leaders that came after him. Solomon writes this part of the song about the woman and man fawning over each other. Zephaniah writes about the judgement the Lord is bringing on the nations.

Today we read about Jephthah fighting the Ammonites and fulfilling his vow to sacrifice his daughter to God. Solomon begins his Song of Songs with the introduction of love between a man and woman. Zephaniah begins his book with a warning to Jerusalem and Judah about the Day of the Lord in which the Lord will cast judgement on them.

Today we read about the history of the people that saved Israel from oppression and Israel's continual evil committed against God. The Teacher concludes Ecclesiastes by reminding all who read that everything is meaningless except following the Lord and the judgement of God is coming. Habakkuk completes his book with a prayer about praising the Lord and his faith in God.

Today we read about Abimelek and his crimes against Gideon's sons and the people of Shechem. The Teacher writes about diversifying investments and remembering the Lord in youth. Habakkuk receives an answer from the Lord about his complaints about the people of Judah.

The Teacher writes about more injustices under the sun and reiterates the meaninglessness of everything on earth. Habakkuk begins his book by asking God about the injustices that leaders are placing on those below them.

The Teacher writes about the meaninglessness of life and that everyone will die so enjoy the gladness from the Lord. Nahum concludes his book describing the trouble of Nineveh and their downfall from sorcery and witchcraft.

Today we read about Gideon being chosen by God to free Israel from Midian. Gideon asks God to put dew in specific places so he knows it is from God. The Teacher write about obeying the king and the injustices that he deems meaningless. Nahum writes about the fall of Nineveh.

Today we read about Joshua giving his farewell address to the Israelite leaders. Ecclesiastes begins with the Teacher writing about the meaningless of labor and wisdom. Micah continues writing about human plans and God's plans. He continues writing about false prophets.

Today we read about the Reubenites, Gadites, and Manasseh being sent back home and building an altar. Israel is going to go to war with them but they explain that it is an altar of remembrance. Proverbs ends with sayings from the mother of King Lemuel and praise for a noble wife. Micah begins with prophesy about the judgement of Samaria and Jerusalem. There will be weeping and mourning in those places.

Today we read about the towns and land given tot he Levite tribes. The proverbs are about the evil nature of people and the holiness and righteousness of God. Jude warns Christians about evil people and tells of their destruction. He does encourage and calls for Christians to persevere.

Today we read about the Cities of Refuge that God told Moses to appoint. The proverbs are about discipline, rulers, and righteousness. John writes this final letter to Gaius about his love for fellow Christians and tells him to hold to the truth.

Today we read about the inheritance divisions for the other tribes of Israel. The proverbs are about ruling, treatment of the poor, and righteousness. John writes this to remind this individual or group about the command to love one another. He continues with the importance of following the teachings of Christ and continuing the faith.

Today we read about the the tribes surveying the land and Joshua casting lots for inheritance. The boundaries of the territory of Benjamin is written. The proverbs are about staying humble, being wise, and helping each other. Paul writes a letter to Philemon about Onesimus and asks him to take him in as a brother.
