Spring Planning 2022 - Pt2
Let's move on to the herbs!
Whether for cooking, health or healing, I love herbs! Herbs & flowers is where I started over 20yrs ago. Raising the children, I wanted them to be able to interact & explore the outside world. They learned how to connect and respect their environment, as well as their place within it. We can only hope they carry that with them as they explore the world to find their place in it.
We are so very excited about 2022 & hope you decide to journey through it with us! Enjoy & we will see you again.
** HUMAN ALERT ** yes, I realize I phonetically pronounced Calendula, but I trust you can get beyond that <3

Spring Planning 2022 - Pt1
Here's where our season begins!
I try not to touch anything before mid-February, here in Zone 5B, it is simply too exciting to break out the seeds and start planning (dreaming). Our greenhouse really struggles for heat when our nightly lows are still in the teens, and besides nothing goes in the ground until mid-April. So, it would be self-defeating to start any earlier.
Some of our veg plants have been growing here since 2015! Many generations of seed collecting are rewarded with abundantly hardy varieties. I firmly believe this adds to the nutritional density and amazing flavor that our soil is able to give.
I hope you enjoy this peek into what you can expect for the coming growing season!

Polyface Designs - Book Review
Just a quick, unsolicited review of Joel Salatin & Chris Slattery's new book.
Cannot say enough about the value of having this resource in your library.
I hope I do justice to them & others that inspire me. Like Justin Rhodes, who penned the forward. Cheers, to all involved!

Cucumber Pruning
Just a quick before n after my cucumber maintenance. I should have noted that there are 3 varieties on our cucumber wall. Straight 8, Lemon, and the Hybrid Corinto (which is new to us this season).

Pruning is a great way to get your tomato fruit over the hump. These ladies have been pretty slow to go, this season, but this should help
