Any day out on the water is a good day. Even when you target one fish, and end up with a bunch that are unfortunately off season. Fishing is what it is some days, the big fish can jerk you around, but you can also just enjoy the blessings provided: a beautiful day on a beautiful sea with some beautiful people.

Today we finally are able to go out fishing on our 31’ Ameracat fishing boat. The weather and waves have been horrible in January 2024, so we haven’t been out on the water and Gulf of Mexico since Christmas. Thankfully today FWC has opened Red Gouper so we are specifically targeting these fish with our favorite bait - raw frozen chicken wings. Hopefully you will enjoy our fishing video. This painting & video were made in 2016 for OrangeTheory Fitness corporate offices in Florida, a commision hired by one of the company's franchise owners in Denver, Colorado. The painting was based on the company's logo, but then branched out to include a specific color palette of blues, turquoises, bright greens and of course notably "orange." The circle technique was very popular for many custom works and commissions for the artist in 2014-2017. The clients also chose the Colbie Calliat song, "Brighter Than The Sun," to accompany the time lapse capture of the painting process. Welcome to our pilot video for our new Florida based fishing channel exclusively on Rumble. My name is Laurie (of the Laurie Maves ART channel) and my husband is Ralph. We own a 31' AmeraCat fishing vessel we call "The Laurie Lynn." Fishing is our passion and we have been at it hard core since we moved to Sarasota, Florida 7 years ago. Our favorite kind of fishing is off shore - way off shore, like 70, 80, 90 miles off the Suncoast of Florida. Most times we go on our boat, but once in a while, we get to go with our other favorite captains and first mates in the area. In this video, our pilot video for Rumble, we share with you a Bucket List kind of day, where we are trolling for Wahoo and end up with some super great luck (and amazing gaffing skills). Bill is the captain of the day. He owns a 31' Cape Horn. I like to refer to him as the "Billdozer" because he always catches the BIGGEST fish I've ever seen, namely gag groupers. Our first mate today is Daniel, who works professionally as a first mate in Sarasota and Venice, Florida. Daniel is working towards his captain license, so we're all excited for him! Anyway, we've gotten to be pretty good at this fishing thing, and wanted to share our wonderful days out on the water with you all, in hopes that maybe you will be inspired to go fishing as well. This video documents the process of a painting commissioned by Holly and Larry of Sarasota, Florida. They wanted a piece to compliment the surrounding colors of their exterior environment focusing on the aquas, blues and greens. It was a true joy working with them, learning their personal story, and creating something to compliment not only their living space, but to also resonate with their personalities. I love this video. The timelapse was a certain homecoming for me. My grandmother and my father appear in the video as they were both alive at the time in 2011. This painting was made in my Denver studio back in 2010. I eventually had the fortune of meeting and painting live for Irish recording artist, Andy White, who was one of the collaborating musicians along with Peter Gabriel for the "Big Blue Ball."

In the time around 2008-2012 I made a lot of paintings based on favorite songs that just would not vacate my head and my mind. It was as if once I made the painting about the song, I could put the obsessive thoughts to rest. I'm not even sure where this painting ended up. I believe it still lives in Colorado, and if it does, I hope it has a happy home and owner.

Contemporary Artist and Art Therapist, Laurie Maves (Guglielmi) created a series of 7 large contemporary intuitive paintings all based on prayers, light and ascension. After viewing the large scale works of Clyfford Still in Denver, Colorado in the fall of 2019, Laurie was inspired to create paintings that encouraged meditation. Each primary and secondary color (red, yellow, blue, green, purple, orange) served as the basis for each prayer painting. She hopes the viewers experience them as transformative and enlightening, and even possibly bringing one a sense of a closeness with eternity. Initially when the pandemic hit, and Laurie Maves had to close her Sarasota, Florida art and art therapies studio, The 11th Orange. With this change in circumstance, Laurie found a new way to connect with her students via online art project tutorials, often using objects that many may already have at home.
