Sourdough Hack! Unleash the Galaxy Inside Your Loaf with Butterfly Pea Flower
Hey sourdough friends! Today's video is all about achieving a stunning marbled effect in your crumb using the vibrant butterfly pea flower! This natural ingredient adds a gorgeous blue hue to your dough, perfect for creating a cosmic swirl within your loaf.
Bonus Tip: The Unexpected Butterfly Pea Flower Hack!
Life throws sourdough curveballs sometimes, right? I thought I had grabbed the butterfly pea flower powder, but guess what? I ended up with the dried flowers themselves!
But here's the cool thing: It turned into a fun hack for creating the marbled effect. Instead of making two separate doughs,I simply added the blended dried butterfly pea flowers during the stretch and It worked like a charm!
This hack is a great way to save time and still achieve that amazing marbled look. Plus, it shows that even with a little unexpected twist, you can still bake a beautiful sourdough.
P.S. Have you tried using butterfly pea flower in your sourdough? Did you encounter any unexpected challenges? Share your experiences and creations in the comments below! #sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart

The Moment of Truth: Why Sourdough Bakers Never Get Bored
It never gets old, the moment of truth. You’ve nurtured your dough, coaxed it through fermentation, and waited to slice into it. Now comes the best part (besides the eating, of course) - that slice of anticipation as you reach for your bread knife and almost like cracking open a geode, finally getting to peek at the hidden beauty within your sourdough creation.
That beautiful honeycomb interior, and the airy lightness. You can’t wait to see if your marbling of different colors created a beautiful effect? Did the inclusions you folded in find their perfect, even distribution?
It’s a sight that never gets old, no matter how many loaves you bake. #sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart

June's Sourdough Showcase: From Blooming Loaves to UFO Faux Pas (and a Touch of Blue Magic)!
This June, my kitchen counter became a sourdough playground! One of the best things about sourdough is all the different ways you can create and design a loaf.
Flower Power: I tried scoring beautiful and simple flower designs. I’d like to try more detailed designs in the future.
Stenciling Success: Stenciling is an easy way to add really beautiful touches to your sourdough. The Butterflies fluttered across my loaves thanks to some creative stenciling. They were almost too pretty to eat (almost ).
3D Butterfly: Tried a new 3D technique to add 3D wings to the butterfly. I loved it and can’t wait to try adding more 3D techniques to my sourdough.
Oops, I Made a UFO Sourdough: Maybe a little too much scoring on one loaf resulted in a hilarious UFO resemblance. Guess you could say my sourdough skills are out of this world!
Butterfly Pea Flower: As a lover of bright colors, I also experimented with Butterfly Pea Flower for the first time. These vibrant purple flowers steeped in water create a stunning blue/purple hue for the inside of the sourdough loaf! #sourdoughfun #sourdoughlove #bakingadventures #juneeats #getcreative #breadart #ufosourdough #butterflypeaflower#sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart #RealBread #ArtisanBread #HomemadeSourdough #SourdoughLife

Sourdough Struggle Bus: When Looks Don't Tell the Whole Story
Well, folks, this loaf isn’t winning any beauty contests. It started off promising but after the bake I realized either there was still rice flour on the top that was just too fine to see that didn’t get brushed off or maybe I sprayed too much water on it and that caused the top to get burned.
But hey, you know what they say? It’s what’s on the inside that counts! And this crumb? Light, airy, and such a beautiful pink and purple swirl color to it!
Guess I can’t be a perfectionist all the time. Who else has had a sourdough bake that surprised them? Share your battle scars (or delicious fails) in the comments! #sourdough #sourdoughbread #baking #breadfail #whoops #stilldelicious #butterfly #rose #flowers #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart #RealBread #ArtisanBread #HomemadeSourdough #SourdoughLife

Naturally Dyed Blue Sourdough with a Perfect Little Rose Score
Finally tried using butterfly pea flowers to get a natural blue color in my sourdough, and I’m obsessed! I tried out it with a smaller loaf just in case it was a flop. But it turned out with such a vibrant shade, and a subtle floral flavor. It’s so lovely. Plus, I managed to score a pretty decent rose design on top!#butterflypeaflower #rose #blue #sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart #RealBread #ArtisanBread #HomemadeSourdough #SourdoughLife

My Rice Flour Fiasco: When Stenciling on Sourdough Goes Wrong (But Still Looks Kinda Cool)
Tried a gorgeous floral stencil on my sourdough with rice flour (thanks, Walmart for the $3 find!) However, a new brand of rice flour I tired for the first time turned out a bit thicker than I wanted. The design didn’t show through as well as I’d hoped. Looks like this particular rice flour might be better for scoring on the dough than stenciling. #flower #sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart

Storage hack for your sourdough
Helpful tip. If you’re needing more space in your fridge - using a clean cutting board or baking sheet to stack your sourdough. It creates a flat, stable surface for stacking loaves and also allows for airflow.

Timelapse of stenciling butterflies and flowers on sourdough
Stenciling is a fun and easy way to add a beautiful design to your sourdough bread. I tend to choose nature and flower stencils.
Instruction’s-
Let your shaped sourdough dough proof until almost doubled in size.
Gently lay the stencil on top of the dough. you can get stencils off of Amazon or any art supply store.
Using your scoring tool, carefully score the design into the dough, following the lines of the stencil. Be light-handed so you don’t deflate the dough. Helpful tip~ if you have an extra set of hands it helps when laying the stencil on a curved surface.
(Optional) Brush away any excess flour and then use your chosen element to lightly dust the design.
Bake according to your recipe.

My Sourdough Got Wings!
I took my sourdough to the next level with this stunning 3D butterfly wings! They’re made from slicing under the painted wing after being in the oven for 5 minutes and placing tin foil under the wings for almost the whole bake time. A video coming soon showing the painting and how I made the wings 3D.

Is Your Starter Ready? Top 3 Signs!
Is Your Starter Ready? Top 3 Signs!
1)The Double Up: After feeding, your starter should (at least!) double in size within a fews hours (also can vary depending what ratio you feed it)This shows your wild yeasts are happy and active.
2)Take a peek at your starter! A healthy one will be bubbly and light on top, with a slightly stretchy texture. Helpful tip-this is when a clear jar can be helpful to see the bubbles from the sides.
3) Smell Test: Your starter should have a pleasant, slightly tangy aroma. It might have hints of acidity and fermentation, but there shouldn’t be any unpleasant odors like strong vinegar or something foul. #sourdough #SourdoughLove #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughCommunity #breadlovers #homemade #breadart #RealBread #ArtisanBread #HomemadeSourdough #SourdoughLife #sourdoughstarter
