Lakewood City Council candidate charges leaders with inaction
Michelle Hamlin, who is running against the city's longest-serving council member (Todd Rogers), complained about City Council's inaction in regards to District Attorney George Gascon, mentally-unstable homeless trespassers, illegal street racing, as well as questionable mask and lockdown mandates while differential treatment/deference wad shown to BLM-ANTIFA type protesters and rich government officials.

CA Speaker's office: No visitors
LAKEWOOD, CALIF. — The office of state assemblyman and the assembly's speaker, Anthony Rendon, locked out a local citizen as he was trying to deliver a letter protesting the city's homelessness and crime, as well as Rendon's support for destructive housing mandates. However, Special Assistant instructed the citizen to slide the letter under the door.
NOTE: Several gun scares at an area high school and somewhere else nearby occurred this day. While that could understandably make one nervous, the bank at the bottom floor of the high-rise complex was open to visitors, and the tens if not hundreds of nearby business nearby were open.

"You're going to go to work or you're going to jail. You can choose one!" said Elder in regards to homeless capable of working but unwilling to do so.
"Why are we allowing this? Why are we putting up with this?" Elder asked.
Elder also addressed homeless suffering from mental health and institutionalizing those a danger to themselves and others, as well as getting homeless camping on the streets in a compassionate way.
"But they will get up off the street," said Elder.

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. — The Torrance mother of a murder victim whose killer is being given only a 15-year sentence by District Attorney George Gascon called Mr. Gascon an evil politician "who doesn't give a damn about any of you!" She went on to say she didn't know anyone who wanted pedophiles not going to jail for full term, as well as murders and rapists.
"If you kill someone, you lose your freedom! It's that simple!" the victim's mother said.
The woman spoke at the We The People rally that focused on Gascon and had a speech by 2021 gubernatorial candidate and popular talk show host, Larry Elder.
Citizen to Lakewood Council: COVID-19 committee or declaration
LAKEWOOD, CALIF. — Citizen and possible 2022 City Council candidate, Christian Hamlin, demands a citizens committee or a public declaration regarding Covid-19.
Five members of the Lakewood Citizens for Freedom group attended the July 27, 2021, Council meeting. Hamlin and Brian Maquena both spoke to the Council against the LA County mask mandates.
Hamlin related to the Council how he and his wife, Michelle Hamlin (a teacher and possible Long Beach Unified School District candidate), had to pull their kids out of school due to the mask mandates. Hamlin wanted a committee to review the data to see if such county mandates made sense, which he argued they did not, and a public declaration supporting private businesses in the face of possible Covid-19 lockdowns.
