Moving On To Maturity (Hebrews 6:1-3)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Apr 28, 2019 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: The author encourages his readers to “press on to maturity” by moving on to solid food and not laying the foundation again. An exposition of Hebrews 6:1-3.
Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and about the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits. URL: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%206:1-3&version=NASB

Marks of Maturity (Hebrews 5:13-14)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Apr 14, 2019 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: We look at four contrasts between the infant and the mature and see what true spiritual maturity looks like. An exposition of Hebrews 5:13-14.
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to distinguish between good and evil. Time To Grow Up, Part 2 (Hebrews 5:11-12)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Apr 7, 2019 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: The Hebrew Christians had not only become lazy listeners (v. 11), but also stagnant students (v. 12). We look at their need to be taught again the foundational elements of Christian truth. An exposition of Hebrews 5:11-12.
Concerning him we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, since you have become poor listeners. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the actual words of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. God is Greater Than our Heart (1 John 3:19-24) Adult Sunday School
Loving those in the body of Christ is proof that we have passed from death into life. Through this love, we have assurance in our hearts that we are children of God. But sometimes our hearts condemn us into thinking that our actions are not in line with the word of God. When that happens, God comforts us because He knows the motives of our hearts and all things. We are to be reminded that when we love others, it brings confidence and boldness to come to Him in prayer, knowing that our actions are true. The Spirit living inside of us provides further assurance that we abide in Him. For it is the one who keeps His commandments who abides in Him.

God is Greater Than Our Heart (1 John 3:19-24)
By David Henke, Teacher | July 16, 2023 | Adult Sunday School
Description: Loving those in the body of Christ is proof that we have passed from death into life. Through this love, we have assurance in our hearts that we are children of God. But sometimes our hearts condemn us into thinking that our actions are not in line with the word of God. When that happens, God comforts us because He knows the motives of our hearts and all things. The Spirit living inside of us provides further assurance that we abide in Him. For it is the one who keeps His commandments who abides in Him.
We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will set our heart at ease before Him, that if our heart condemns us, that God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He… URL: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%203:19-24&version=NASB

Love, The Mark of True Christians (1 John 3:11-18)
By David Henke, Teacher | July 16, 2023 | Adult Sunday School
Description: The Lord Jesus Christ on the cross is our ultimate example of love. True believers look at that model, and it motivates them to follow His lead in loving our brothers and sisters in Christ. Without that love, they become like Cain, who is of the evil one and killed his brother Abel. Those kinds of people are said to abide in death. It is incompatible for Christians to love like the world because their lives have been changed from death to life. Their old nature no longer has mastery over their lives. One way to tell is that they have an otherworldly love for their brothers and sisters in the Lord. They serve them the same way Christ served His disciples, demonstrating that true love is done with action.
For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And for what reason did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil, but his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. Everyone who hates his… URL: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%203:11-18&version=NASB

For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind, and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words, which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them. Qualities of a High Priest (Hebrews 5:1-4)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Jan 27, 2019 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: It is one thing to claim that Jesus serves as our High Priest, but it is another to show that He is qualified to do so. This is what the author of Hebrews sets out to do. An exposition of Hebrews 5:1-4.
For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of people in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is clothed in weakness; and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins for himself, as well as for the people. And no one takes the honor for himself, but receives it when he is called by God, just as Aaron also was. URL: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%205:1-4&version=NASB

The Judging Word (Hebrews 4:12-13)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Dec 9, 2018 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: A look at the discerning and discriminating quality of the Word of God. We look at Christ as the Judge of all mankind, and Scripture as the tool of His judgment. An exposition of Hebrews 4:12-13.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer. The Piercing Word (Hebrews 4:12)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Dec 2, 2018 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: A look at how Christ and Scripture are “sharp.” The piercing quality of the Word of God is examined. An exposition of Hebrews 4:12-13.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The Working Word (Hebrews 4:12)
By Jim Osman, Pastor | Nov 25, 2018 | Exposition of Hebrews
Description: The Word of God is “active.” We look at how that describes both the Lord Jesus Christ and the written Word of God. An exposition of Hebrews 4:12-13.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
