In today's episode, we're celebrating your victories on your journey to health, joy, and food freedom. Share your triumphs, big or small, by emailing Julia at Julia@OneStepToWellness.com with the subject "I have a victory." Your story could inspire others!
🌎 The Dear Food program is now available in the United States, Canada, and the UK, and you can find it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Target.
👏 Today, we're highlighting Ella A's victory from her review of Workbook 2. She found our unique approach to understanding food patterns and the importance of a loving relationship rooted in Jesus truly transformative.
🔍 Our focus today is on the "Six Ps of Progress": Perspective, Practice, Perseverance, Prayer, Positivity, and Patience.
1️⃣ Perspective: See the big picture and understand that real maintenance begins with the first step.
2️⃣ Practice: Repeatedly implement what you know works for your health, even when it's challenging.
3️⃣ Perseverance: Healthy living takes time and endurance; endure discomfort and stay the course.
4️⃣ Prayer: Bring your food struggles to the Lord in prayer, and let His strength guide you.
5️⃣ Positivity: Embrace trials as opportunities for growth, and rejoice in your progress.
6️⃣ Patience: Ask for the gift of patience from the Holy Spirit and trust that it will help you endure.

Please Hold, The Refrigerator is Calling [EP13] Dear Food Podcast
🎉 Dear Food Workbook One – Chapter 10 🎉
Welcome to the Dear Food Podcast, where health, joy, and food freedom are not just goals, but real possibilities. I'm your host, Julia Fikse, and I'm thrilled to have you here with me today. As we journey through the triumphs and challenges of wellness, one thing is clear: victories are worth celebrating.
Introducing the STAY LOW acronym, a practical tool I've developed to help you navigate these tricky situations with the guidance of the Lord.
🙏 S - Seek Him: Our first step is to seek God first. Practically, this means redirecting our focus from food to God. Walk away from the temptation and turn to the Lord.
🙌 T - Trust Him: Embrace the belief that God is good and will help. Trust that God can assist in overcoming powerful emotions and challenging circumstances.
🙏 A - Ask Him: Invite God into the situation. Recognize that we need His help to navigate these challenges.
🙌 Y - Yes Lord: Be open to adjusting your desires to God's best for you. This willingness to align with God's will strengthens our faith muscle over time.
📖 L - Listen: Pay attention to how the Holy Spirit guides you. It could be a Scripture, a still small voice, or an encouraging message from another source that is in line with what the Word of God teaches us in the Bible.
👣 O - Obey: Act on the guidance received. This may involve discipline or stepping out of your comfort zone, but remember that God's ways are higher than ours.
🌟 W - Watch Him Work: Observe how God intervenes as you stay low. Be grateful for His providence and watch as He helps and works wonders in your life.

I'll Do Anything to Get Healthy, Just Don't Take Away My Ice Cream [EP12] Dear Food Podcast
🎉 Dear Food Workbook One – Chapter 9 🎉
Welcome back to our life changing journey of health, joy, and food freedom with Julia Fikse. Today, we're celebrating victories – big and small – that have brought us closer to our goals. Your resilience and victory testimonies continue to inspire us all!
Sometimes, certain foods act like pacifiers, providing comfort during tough times. But as we grow, it's essential to recognize when these "comfort foods" are no longer beneficial and might even harm our health. Let's seek God's help to break free from their grip.
Creating a list of addictive and/or unhealthy comfort foods and praying about how we "use" them allows us to consider replacing food addiction with prayer and healthier alternatives. Through this process, we can deepen our relationship with the Lord and experience improvements in our physical and mental health.

What Is The Dear Food Program? [EP06] Dear Food Podcast
Welcome to the Dear Food Podcast! 🎧 I’m Julia Fikse, your host, and I'm thrilled that you're here with us.In today's episode, we're diving into what sets this program apart from diet culture and other programs you may have tried before. Let's jump right in! 💪
How the Program Works:
The Dear Food Program is a three-part workbook series designed for Bible study groups. Each book guides the group through a ten-week session, fostering growth and support. But don't worry, you can also do this program alone if you prefer to work with just you and God. It's all about finding what works best for you. 🙏
What is the Dear Food Program?
It's a Healthy Eating Bible study that tackles food strongholds, addiction, and challenges through workbook exercises, prayer, Bible study, and reflection. We'll shift the focus from just what we eat to understanding why we eat and cultivating a healthy mind, emotional state, and spiritual life. Together, we'll discover a new path towards holistic well-being. 🌱
What This Program Is Not:
Unlike traditional diets, this program won't dictate what you should or shouldn't eat. We're not about restrictions or shame. Instead, we'll learn to listen to our bodies and create a personalized plan with God's guidance. This is a journey of self-discovery, self-care, and finding victory in Jesus. 🙌
Workbook One: Emotions and Food:
In this workbook, we'll unravel the tangled knot of emotions, food, and our relationship with God. We'll uncover why we turn to food for comfort, learn to put God first in our lives, and explore healthy ways to cope with powerful emotions. Get ready to remove shame and embrace a fresh start. 🌟
Workbook Two: Ten Power Tools for Lasting Food Freedom:
After laying the groundwork in Workbook One, we'll delve into practical tools for lasting change. We'll focus on finding healthy replacements for using food as a crutch and discover ways to maintain our progress. Workbook Two is a valuable resource to support your journey. 🛠️
Workbook Three: Discovering Your Authentic Eating:
In Workbook Three, we'll finally dive into the realm of food choices. While I'm not a nutritionist or doctor, we'll explore how to make decisions that honor our bodies and unique needs. We'll partner with the Lord in crafting an authentic and healthy eating plan that aligns with our individuality. 🍎
Join the Dear Food Program:
Throughout this program, we'll learn to live and flourish with God by our side. Our goal is to banish shame, experience victories, and embrace an abundant life beyond the table. I can't wait to hear your stories and successes! Share your journey and insights with me, and let's support each other. Remember, prayer is powerful, and I'm here for you. 🤗
If you're ready to take the next step towards victory and discover a new way of living, grab your copy of Dear Food Workbook One and embark on this incredible journey of transformation.
Thank you for joining me today, and stay tuned for more empowering episodes. Together, we'll find joy, truth, and victory in Jesus.
