Composing with Major Scale (Ionian mode)
Using just a major scale by itself over an open 5th makes this composition IONIAN mode. It's quite helpful to be able to ignore tonal harmony and play with just 7 notes to see where you go.
Reminders: C & G are your frerindds. Use F and B sparingly. Otherwise have fun improvising or composing .

Cut out 4 & 7 = MAJOR PENTATONIC 123561
Start scale on 6 = MINOR PENTATONIC 612356
Add 1/2 step between 2&3 = BLUES 612#2356
OR
