Ammunition Selection is Important, also.
The important thing is to select the ammunition that works best in your pistol and that works best with you the shooter. You can't believe what's written on the box. That is data from the factory. You need real-world data regarding YOUR shooting experience with YOUR pistol. Barrel length, trigger pulls, with YOUR trigger finger, powder weights, and types DO make a difference in the reliability and accuracy of YOUR individual weapon. This entails shooting MANY DIFFERENT brands, bullet weights, types, and power levels. You need to discover which cartridges function best in Your firearm. What is written ON THE BOX was written by the company wanting you to buy their product. Treat it like what it is: an advertisement!

Firearm Training: Now that you have your new wireless handheld device.
To safely carry and use your firearm, you MUST be taught how to PROPERLY use it. All training IS NOT EQUAL. Standing still, at a firing station, punching holes in the paper IS NOT proper training. Moving targets, running while shooting, varying distances, THESE are some of the problems you will encounter in self-defense situations. I'm not saying that you need to train like your local SWAT team or Delta. BUT, standing still trying to get a "proper" sight picture during a gun battle is a surefire way to get your 'last train to Deathsville' ticket issued and punched. What really IS defensive cover and what just LOOKS like it is two entirely different things.

Selection Advice
What you need to consider when acquiring a pistol for self-defense. Fit, feel comfort, recoil, size, carrying, concealability, controllability, and YOUR personality and attitude towards your personal safety and security. You DO NOT "brandish" your weapon to threaten someone. You pull it to eliminate lethal violence from occurring to yourself.

Gun Safety
This is the first video that I have made regarding firearms. I'm nervous about the subject matter as you can tell. The audio could be better, but the device is old. I'm checking my notes because I don't want to make any glaring errors in the presentation, which is just about the MOST important subject matter covered. Manners. Respect for others, their property, and their feelings are critical when dealing with these labor-saving killing devices.

Two Kinds of Approaches to Violence
It is our position that you NEVER want to engage in violent behavior if you have a way to ignore, deescalate, avoid, walk away from, or otherwise not engage in it. ONLY! ONLY if, you CANNOT avoid it should you resort to the training you have been perfecting. When you have NO choice and hands are laid on, then you must end it as fast as you can. Remember, the police at this point are NOT your friends. Only your lawyer speaks to them. Not you. No matter what. ONLY your lawyer.
