Testing my new PC to find it's limitations and how best I can use it for my project, I reach for Borderlands GOTY Enhanced to see how well it runs. I played the original version back in the day, but it's been a while and I thought it'd be nice to survey the graphical update, and possibly do a let's play series of the game. The 2K Policy implies that they are fine with Let's Play videos so long as it's not commercialized, and I'm too small to sell ad space anyway, so a playthrough of the classic series may be a good fit for my channel at this point.

My four year old gaming laptop choked on this game, so I revisit it with the new PC to check to see how things run on a modern system. It's just a custom battle, and the intention is to see if it lags, because I loved the game as a teenager and would like to do a larger series on it, but needn't bother if I can't run it well.

Getting back into the flow of things, except I'm short a USB port so I have to use the keyboard instead of the XBox One controller.

Time to grind against some weaker enemies to level up my group. I'm dying to much, so I bounce between the surface and the underworld to kill as many weaker monsters and bandits as I can get my hands on.

Just a quick update for what's going on with the channel and projects I'll be working on in the foreseeable future.

A quick comparison from the original Exile 3 Ruined World I grew up with, and then back to the main game in the newest version Avernum 3 Ruined World. Playing on Hard here, and the extra difficulty makes me struggle in dungeons I could easily conquer before.

The modern incarnation of one of my favorite childhood games, I am pleased to begin playing Avernum 3 on my channel. Many hundreds of hours were spent playing the original incarnation of this game, Exile 3: Ruined World in my childhood, and it was time well spent. Exile 3 was a massive game with thousands of things to do, and I still haven't done everything that can be done in that game. I have high hopes starting my playthrough of the newer remake.

Playing as the Brutii, invading Greece. My laptop runs this remastered version worse than Rome 2 or Atilla for whatever reason.

I'm aware of the choppy footage. The gameplay was fine, but the stream was choppy and this is the best footage that survived the cut.
