In 2017, I travelled to Eastern Uganda with The Walking School Bus to document their work at several schools. As well as numerous images - several which have been published, I filmed several interviews with the Founder and Executive Director Aaron Friedland and Enosh Keki - Director of Uganda Operations. This is their story.

In 2019, I continued to document to work of The Walking School Bus in partnership with the UNHCR. This time I headed to Northern Uganda to Bidbidi Refugee Settlement of approximately 287,000 people.

This is a multi-international award winning video (Best Documentary in Australia and Second Overall Best Documentary - Federation International de-la-Art Photographic Festival 2017). Evelyn, at 77 years of age, is a human dynamo and her abusive background is her driving force in helping people who are homeless. As she does not work for any organisation she has no boundaries to the support she can provide and it is this freedom and flexibility that allows her to move people forward. This is a story of her and her work. This documentary supports the 2016 Homeless Connect Day. WARNING: This documentary contains material that is sometimes confronting and disturbing. Sometimes words or images can cause sadness and distress, or bring back memories for people affected by the history of institutional ‘care’ in Australia.

This project captures the Central Coast Homeless Connect Day through images and interviews. This took place on 7th August 2014 and involved attracting services that support people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. Service providers included refuges, support services, hairdressers and beauticians, food hampers and Government and non-Government support organisations. The finished product will provide Hunter TAFE and other service providers with a promotional resource.

This project involved capturing the lead up to and the actual activities of the Youth Homelessness Matters Day. Over 26,000 young people aged between 12 and 24 are homeless in Australia however there are many more homeless youths whose statistics are not counted. As many young people "couch surf" (staying with a range of friends and relatives whilst living out of a backpack) they do not access services so become hidden statistics. Students undertaking a Diploma in Youth Work were involved in a couch convoy to raise community awareness of this situation.

Darcy Hamilton is a young man learning the art of communicating with animals. His final exam relies on communicating with a snake. Darcy hesitates when quizzed by the assessor to interpret the snake’s communication. Threatened with failing the course Darcy states that the snake told him that the assessor is having an affair with the snake’s owner blackmailing the assessor to pass him. Darcy starts his own animal interpreting business realizing that people are more interested in what their animals see rather than what they have to say. Capitalizing on this, Darcy makes a lot of money and a few enemies along the way. One day he is held hostage tied to a chair with a wild animal ready to attack by the embittered assessor who discovered the snake was a mute so could not possibly have told him about the affair. The mentor believes that if Darcy is a fake the wild animal will attack him but if he is genuine he will be able to convince the beast otherwise - it depends on if Darcy can really talk to the animals.
