This is a custom built solid Cedar Horizontal Bee Hive made from 2 inch thick cedar stock milled down to 1 1/2inch for main box, and supports. pull out drawers and roof i used 3/4 inch thick cedar, there is no plywood used at all. this hive also holds 32 deep frames but does not have foundation for the frames included. these are built to last and very heavy. solid trim coil on both sides of roof with a ridge cap trim coil over the top keeps all the rain and snow out for good. the video will point out all the details of the hive.

This Horizontal Hive holds 32 frames. also comes with a follower/divider board. covers over all frames with 3/8 bee space. 4 of the covers have vents in them. the roof has a dormer vent on each end. also comes with a drop leaf table on one end and a frame rack on the other end. two bee landing pads. zinc chains . 3 drawers on the front side that also house a pull out tray on each drawer used for pest controls. each drawer has a 2 3/4 inch vent hole. this is all built using 2 x material, very solid and very heavy. you can visit our web site at http://hunterhives.com/ to see additional videos and descriptions of several different types of bee hives we make. everything we sell is Made in America. we have taken the standard Horizontal hive the houses 32 deep frames and made it twice as deep , so it still holds 32 frames, but each frame holds two deep foundations. so this gives you a total of 64 deep foundations in the hive. The way the frames are constructed lets the bee's continue from the top foundation or natural comb area , straight down to the second foundation or natural comb area. questions have been brought up that this type of frame will not allow it to be put into a extractor. the new frame design will take care of this problem. this first generation of combs was designed to produce natural comb by requested from several individual that we built the hive for and shipped it out for testing.
