Covid-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) added to protozoa in swamp water sample
Adding a small amount of RAT test buffer solution (designed to lyse and inactivate the virus to release viral antigen) to swamp water under a microscope.
The effects on a protozoa captured in the incoming stream (from right of screen moving left) is visible. The pellicle breaks down, spilling the contents. If this were a virus, the contents would be picked up by the RAT test as a positive result for the viral proteins.
Video has been sped up.
